F-14 A/B feature follow-up, wish list and beyond
JupiterJoe replied to scommander2's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Everything relating to the F-14 was included in scommander2's quotes above. If we're lucky, the Devs may've encountered some long-term problems inherent to the F-14 whilst testing of the early A and incorporated those fixes. What's frustrating is someone will come on here any minute and say 'What long-term problems?'. -
J-1775 started following How to TILT instances of a static object?
-
I have custom static scenery objects (wrecks, currently declared as fortifications) that I would like to place in different angles of TILT. In contrast to the MSFS scenery editor the DCS ME allows only cardinal orientation, but not tilting. Is there any workaround for this? I mean apart from the obvious 'tilting the object in Blender and exporting each position as separate object'...

waiting for resolution ED/RAZBAM Situation Info & Discussion
SkateZilla replied to NineLine's topic in RAZBAM
I own a studio / business. I am responsible for paying my employees and any sub-contractors I hire for a project. More often than not, they are paid before I ever see the payment for the final project. It's the equiv of me going after a production studio because I couldn't pay the artists that I subcontracted or hired. Their contracts are for my company to pay them, not the studio I accepted the contract from. This is why companies are required to have Insurance, company licenses, etc etc. I know fellow owners that took out loans to pay employees on time, and then paid them off once their contractual payment arrived. The only "Hickup" would be, if their contracts are stipulated to be a % of sales, which requires sales numbers to be shared to calculate payments to sub contracters, which have not been allegedly shared. ED Paying RB, does not and should not in any business structure, stipulate whether or not RB pays sub contractors. -
Adding this just as a sidenote: Something that helps me very much for many scaling problems ─ without the need of going into the UV mapping edtor: the UV Warp MODIFIER. It allows you to do all the basic transformation for a texture (scale, rotate, offset). You see the result immediately. And modifiers are non-destructive. I never explicitely apply them, because the official blender exporter (at least the latest version I use) temporarily applies them when exporting your object.

Does anyone have this rig?
niru27 replied to Zimmerdylan's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Look for an x3D option, or buy parts and build it yourself. Even a 7800x3D will outperform Intel by a huge margin and at a lower price. And definitely get: 64GB ram (2 sticks of 32GB each, speed doesn't really matter for x3D CPUs) and a dedicated 1TB drive for DCS as recommended above -

speed-of-heat replied to Zimmerdylan's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I don't have your rig, on the specs I would recommend more storage another nvme drive or ssd, for dcs and depending on what you are doing maybe another 32gb of ram. The price for the hardware is a little over the odds, but not stupidly so for a prebuilt...and you could possibly save yourself a couple of hundred bucks by building it from scratch. -
Everything in your rebuttal shows that you're far from interested in the truth, and that you too have a very clear bias, which is perfectly fine.. I never threatened you with defamation, as soon as I read that comment, I realised that you are trying to belittle those who disgree with you, and think you come across as some sort of SME when it comes to Business law... News Flash... you're far from it, you're just another consumer with an opinion just like the rest of us.. I said your comments are defamatory in nature, not to me, but towards ED, you clearly stated "for no apparent reason" and unless you're privy to contracts etc, since you act like a lawyer, look up the definition of defamation. Leaked documents are not facts, those can be edited with photoshop very easlily... you want to be factual, but just ignore everything on the front page. Good luck in Law school. Show me those promises.... clearly defined within the EULA's of all the released modules currently supported by ED.

Thank you - yes, I was referring to the liveries.

Massun92´s Asset Pack - Official (update march 2024)
SaitouJaga replied to Massun92's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Hitboxes are very bad. We have a destroyed object that has a transparent fragment, is impenetrable, and is not actually destroyed, but just looks like this. In fact, we have a hitbox on the red line, as with an object that has not been destroyed, but should be on the yellow line. What do you think?- 524 replies

Pyrocumulous started following M14 HARM codes
-
HARM codes for SA11 in the briefing should be: 107: Snow Drift target acquisition radar 115: Fire Dome target tracking radar in the TELAR reference: APPENDIX B – ALIC CODES & RWR SYMBOLS of the DCS aircraft manual

See my reply to mrsylvestre above. Now all is ok…
-
OK, this I already fixed and submitted to ED, it will be in the next update. Out of curiosity, do you know where Whippet Blue was at this time? It happens if that group didn't spawn or got killed, which never happened to me before.

That’s strange, both CAP should engage the strikers. They did every time I tested the mission, and in every playthrough video I watched. remove all unofficial mods and run a slow repair.
