Yes making good progress and on schedule, all being well the campaign should be sent to ED at the end of August!

The "size" of a conflagration is determined by the number of fires - DCS isn't really good at simulating fires, and you may have noticed that fires really are 2D 'billboards' with low-resolution artwork pained on. Trying to make this a better experience by controlling the size of fires proved not to be worth the effort, so what I call 'size' is really number of burning cells. Hitting the fire is a combination of velocity and altitude (of course). Simplistic though it may be, the fire-fighting module simulates dropping the fire correctly (if near-instantaneous) using simple vector algebra. So your best bet would be flying slow, and release directly above the flames. Since (again) fire in DCS is (sadly) a purely visual effect, you can fly into the flames without being affected by heat nor updraft.

winget - incorrect DCS version identified - command line
Flappie replied to Bucic's topic in Installation Problems
Hi gents. I don't know winget at all. Can you please tell me which commands to use in order to get the wrong version displayed? If possible without the need of installing DCS. -
I think 32 is right, but yes that first instance of 42 seems to be a typo. The next instance correctly identifies it as either bad or cannon round indicator. Here is original We must remember though that whatever FC3 taught us about the HUD is wrong. It is really more like a watered down Su-27 HUD with MiG-29 symbols.

fixed JTAC unresponsive in multiplayer, both ST and MT...
Flappie replied to Callsign JoNay's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
I've just answered here: -
You can see them on your kneeboard when flying, so it's not useless.

JTACs are not working in multiplayer on a dedicated server
Flappie replied to Parkour's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
I saw your issue and simply moved the "ROE = HOLD FIRE" instruction at the top of the pile. It works in MP now. JTAC Test_MP_fix.miz -

Even so, they are useful as reference points on the map when editing the mission, to place trigger zones and ground objects.

Oh, how I've wanted to get a post out here. For all of the RIOs out there that want as close to 1:1 as you can get, I've been meticulously working on a new panel that should look quite familiar... and of course, I'm happy to share the files for it once I have the rest of it cinched together. Measurements and designs for the panel were taken as closely as I could get them from the local Tomcat we have at our city museum so they should be pretty close to accurate. So far, I've made the model for the selector knobs, SVG maps for the hole cutouts and the text labels, the mechanism for selecting which of the 43 positions to use on the thumb wheel, and the mechanism to turn two BCD 0-9 encoders for the DLVY OPTNS selectors. Last couple pieces involve shaping the small metal flip shield for SEL JETT and getting the gears for the WPN TYPE wheel printed or machined so it works as expected. Overall, this has taken about a month of work, but I'm excited to make this my next years-long hobby project. Feedback to any of it is always welcome!!! On that note, would it be best to assume SendCutSend is going to be my best option for getting the acrylic cut the way I need it?image.png null

These never got released did they? No pressure but sorely needed

Yes, like Raven mentions, I use VoiceAttack, which is pretty cheap and well worth it. There's a free plugin for DCS called VAICOM which makes you talk to ATC/tankers/JTAC etc. without using the radio menu at all. It will even distinguish between modules, so I can have one command ie. "close cockpit", that will press different keystrokes depending of the module like planes vs. helicopters. Cheers!
-
Does it even make sense to set waypoints on the Corsair? You can't see them in the cockpit anyway, right?
-
I have only Harrier, so completeness of the different modules aren't know for me. I am ready that it will be unusable some day. It is sad and I think I will not buy 3rd parties anymore. Maybe Kola from OrbX later although.
