In this DCS: F-16C Viper video, we’ll continue from the earlier basic functionality video of the AN/AAQ-33 Advanced Targeting Pod to discuss some of the more advanced and unique capabilities of the ATP like Extended Range (XR), Maverick handoff, Multi-Track (MT), Laser, Infrared Pointer (PTR), Laser Spot Track (LST), and air-to-air mode. NOTE 1: Later, we plan to add the MENU function that includes other PTR options and Fragmentation Ellipse settings. NOTE 2: This targeting pod has a much common name, but it is trademarked. NOTE 3: The ATP is not planned for the F/A-18C (USN/USMC) and A-10C II Suite 3 basis as it would be inaccurate for the versions of these aircraft we simulate. NOTE 4: At 13:53, I misspoke. Use Cage/Uncage to enable/disable LST via the HOTAS. Not the Enable button. NOTE 5: ATP MT detection range of aerial targets will greatly depend on the target type. For lower signature/small sized targets, NARO mode will work best compared to WIDE for larger targets/large signatures.10 points

Dresoccer4 it's a Chinese website that hosts all types of 3D models, from ships to cars to characters. You name it. It's there. I know someone who creates very detailed 3d model ships, and I've purchased a few of them. He sells his models for really cheap. They have taken all of his 3d models and posted them on the site. He told me it's too much work to try to have them removed, but it is possible. First, you have to prove you are the Arthur of the 3d models. I've never created my 3d model, so it's difficult for me to challenge the site. I can send you the site if you're interested. I won't post it here. The interesting this is that the person is monitoring my forum, so they could possibly be reading my messages. They don't care. What's upsetting is I lost some $, time, and effort on those 3d models. I've moved on. AvgkeekJoe, that's a pretty good idea, but the problem is I can't sell someone else's 3d models. Even if I post them there, they can still download and sell them. However, I may be able to see who's downloading individual ship mods. Here's the problem: there's a ripper for the .EDM file, and unless it's encrypted in some way, there's just no way to get around this. Even if I encrypted the files. The DCS Game engine needs to decrypt the mod file. I'm still working on a solution.5 points

"I know many of you are wondering whether I'm actually working on this project, and how it's progressing. All I can say for now is — yes, I am! It's moving slowly, but my life isn't just about DCS, and I'm no longer twenty years old. Still, for those of you who can't wait, I do have something to share. Work on the flight model has advanced, and the core systems are already in development!" Here one chart for you:5 points

And here we are again. You seem to know exactly what happened, how it came about and who else was or is involved. So of course you can put the blame solely on one person... Your post alone shows the absolute nonsense of this thread, namely deriving facts from no real information.5 points

Su-22M4 got Intake Covers and Ladders, for added imersion during cold start. Of course they are detachable. Also, big thanks to Robsonek - he made over 50 Polish AF Liveries as well as dozen of other - Now we have almost 90 liveries from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, East Germany, Hungary, Iran, Libya, Germany, Peru, Russian Air Force, Russian Navy, Slovakia, Syria, Ukraine and Vietnam.4 points

No this is not fixed, rather its a dirty workaround further empasizing overperforming warhead. You do not survive on DCS the hit. IRL majority of pilots ejected and landed safely. Furthermore If it gets proved that the blast radius is correct, then the accuracy of the guidance should be less.4 points

Perhaps we need to also acknowledge that if all that you say is true and was known, other people stood by and let it happen without implementing sufficiently mitigating measures to keep damage away from the customers. “It takes two hands to clap”. This disaster did not happen in a vacuum, there was precedence. There is enough blame to go around and share it. I’m not interested in who’s most to blame - I’m interested in finding out how the people involved intend to fix this really bad situation. Hating on someone maybe feels good for a second - and never fixed anything. So let’s look forward to fixing this mess.4 points

Thanks @Manschy @Harry.RThx alot, yea i go with what i got, thats a few pictures and mostly bing maps (bird view) https://www.bing.com/maps?cp=51.930275~8.2987&lvl=19.7&style=g&dir=-90... still not easy to make out some details.. but better then nothin', i wrote a message to the local Airbase museum, maybe they can provide some detailed pictures or someone is close by and got access to the base.. i'm too far away Anyway.. next building in the works.. its close to the previous one.. don't know what this is either..looks interesting tho..4 points

Nobody ever said ED is free of sin here, you know. With that said, ED never took their frustration out on their customers because thats just bad for business. It takes a special kind of person to use the customer as a hostage.3 points

Nope. And the submarine bases are too shallow to place your own submarine or ship units as targets. Just ridiculous...3 points

Because it happened. One of the measures of a CEO is how they handle internal stuff, and not let it spill to the customer. That entire dispute is internal, and having it affect the customer is a failure to contain an internal screw-up. Put differently, if you go to a dentist, and they screw up your procedure you aren't interested to hear why, you don't want to hear that the practitioner had a spat with the owner. You simply want your teeth to be fixed. I want my modules (Farmer, Harrier, Mudhen, Mig and Falklands) to be fixed; I can't be bothered to know why or who in ED's internal processes screwed up. I expect professionalism, and that, currently, seems in short display. I don't give a rat's behind who "Ron" is and what their alleged failings are. ED, please - fix my modules, and spare me the drama.3 points

Doing that perfectly, 100% of the time, is very much superhuman. We're not just talking a well trained pilot, we're talking one who can magically teleport the stick from one side to the other. We're talking one who can guess his airspeed perfectly at all times while keeping his eyes glued to the bandit (and simultaneously looking behind, the AI is that good). We're talking one who can continuously hold perfect trim, disregarding the imprecisions in the trim switch, or even the need to actuate it. In fact, I'm pretty sure nobody actually trims mid-fight. DCS AI does, it's always in perfect trim like an FBW jet. I agree that most players don't even meet the criteria of simply flying well, and the MiG-15 is a real beast when flown well. However, no real pilot is going to hold corner speed to the knot while not looking at the airspeed dial. We simmers are seriously disadvantaged in the G load department, but a pilot's butt isn't a super-precise G indicator. You can be good at guessing, but you don't have a HMD, so in a dogfight, the MiG-15 needs to be flown by feel to some degree. Otherwise, you'd spend so much time staring at the gauges that you lose tally.3 points

You're not getting it - flying aerodynamic tables exactly in an analog bird like MiG-15 is superhuman. It's like you're dogfighting a wind tunnel model, not an aircraft flown by a real human with real controls. Aerodynamics are only one part of the aircraft's performance, another critical factor is the human-machine interface. Yes, it's theoretically possible to fly the MiG-15 that way, but in practice, you'd need to build a piloting robot, or retrofit an FBW system (same thing, really, if you think about it). A human pilot needs to physically move the control column to maneuver, actuate the trim switch to adjust the trim, physically look at the gauges to determine airspeed, keep tally, and so on. In a MiG-15, all those tasks are somewhat complicated by poor cockpit ergonomics (a somewhat notorious issue with all Soviet fighters), in addition to the normal delays and imperfections from making those actions. AI models none of this, which makes it superhuman. We're effectively fighting a MiG-15 equipped with modern FBW controls, a force sensing stick and a modern HMD. In fact, it seems to be exactly the same case as with climbing with warbirds. Until they got WEP restricted, most people couldn't do it, but Reflected found a way by the means of unrealistically tight trimming and very hard, but doable precision flying. Yes, it follows the tables, but it does not follow either real WWII practice or normal ways to fly a warbird. This is also why complaints about fighters which are supposed to have FBW are much less frequent.3 points

A MiG-27 would also be a great choice. Generally, I really enjoy all A2G missions (SP/MP) at DCS, so honestly, instead of a MiG-23 and MiG-29, I'd rather have the FF Su-24 and Su-25. Maybe someday, who knows .3 points

The Norrland War tells the story of the AJ 37 Viggens of F 15 Söderhamn, deployed to the North in a regional conflict between Sweden, Finland and Soviet Russia. Key Features: * Fly the AJ 37 Viggen on its home turf in defense of Sweden and Finland, employing the weapons and tactics for the task. * Fly ten missions in defense of Sweden; from air interdiction of enemy supplies to navigation guided bombing runs in the dead of the night. * Fully voice acted by Swedes and Finns. The year is 1988. In an effort to distract their people from internal problems, the Soviet Union has launched a military offensive against Finland and Sweden. The two nordic nations must stand together against one of the largest militaries on earth, using both the terrain and the purpose built AJ 37 Viggen to halt the enemy advance. As the pilot of Olle 09, your task will be to strike the enemy wherever they are vulnerable and enact the Swedish Doctrine to cause heavy casualties to the enemy and convince the Soviets that the price to continue further will be far too high. All messages that resistance is to cease are false. The Campaign requires the AJS 37 Viggen Module by Heatblur Simulations as well as the Kola Map by Orbx Simulations Systems. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3345732/2 points

This is how I have mine: Install path at /Saved Games/ and version number of the Mod: The aircraft shows up on the Mission Editor : and then this is how it looks on the Sim: Check that you don't have other Mods conflicting, check the dcs.log to see if there are error messages about the F-1042 points

Yes and that shows! Let me put it this way: if it’s not done correctly and the dimensions are off, you’ll know it because the cockpit will “feel wrong” or “feel off” even if you don’t consciously know why. Heatblur modules don’t have that issue2 points

Im not sure how you came to the conclusion but the Phantom was developed with VR since day 1. The experience is in many regards tuned specifically for VR users as well. Jester UI has full VR support, was also tuned for voice support, all switches and buttons support hand control, Crew Chief operations have been added to Jester Wheel so they can also be done through head controls or via voice control instead of the default immersion breaking menu. There is a detailed VR Pilot Body. Extra effort was put into ensuring that everything in the cockpit is millimeter accurate to ensure everything has exactly the right size and dimensions specifically in VR. Ofc some things dont work well in VR (yet), but that is mostly down to DCS/engine support shenanigans. Most notably HB UI. For example, there is no way technically to interface with VR hand controls as mouse substitute yet, DCS simply lacks an API for these things (afaik).2 points

Except that you are not actually just basing your opinion merely on facts, but on the speculation that the accusation is true, and are actually going further than that, by claiming that the alleged breach of contract was deliberate, which I don't think was even the accusation by ED, nor do we have any evidence for this. If I assumed the worst about you, like you seem to assume the worst about Ron, I could accuse you of misrepresenting the facts deliberately. But that would be irresponsible and unjust, just like your assumptions about Ron are irresponsible and unjust. We lack a lot of information and there could be a lot of facts that are unknown to us, that could lead to a conclusion of greater and lesser fault, and greater or lesser malicious intent, both on the part of Ron and ED.2 points

It says "pre-purchase". The full fidelity MiG-29 is not yet available. Release is planned for September. Current MiG-29 FC price: $7.49 FC2024 pack: $59.99 So I don't understand the question.2 points

But it's so much fun and so much easier to put all the blame on one person... Yes, you can do it that way, but it is in no way objective (since you are of course leaving out all the other circumstances), but quite deliberately a subjective decision. Since I don't know what happened and what the circumstances were/are, I'm not accusing anyone (especially since it doesn't do anyone any good to accuse anyone). There will be a solution at some point (whether we like it or not, we'll have to see), but we certainly won't find out exactly what happened. And to be honest, I don't really care because I have no influence on it either way. Why should I concern myself with the situation between ED and Razbam? I can't do anything about it and neither can you. But I can state my opinion about how people here on the forum only badmouth one side or the other because they don't like them. But I won't change you and I won't change this thread anyway. So it will continue exactly as before. So I should just ignore this thread (and all others). Have a nice Sunday everyone, I'm out.2 points

@BIGNEWY Can you please consider adding the last missing export for F16 for those of us that use simpits. The fix is minor and consistent with all the other modules. Right now adding this breaks purescripts check until you add it in the truth files.... pretty please.. Add these 2 lines : dofile(LockOn_Options.common_script_path.."ViewportHandling.lua") try_find_assigned_viewport("F_16C_RWR", "RWR") to \DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Cockpit\Scripts\EWS\RWR\indicator\RWR_ALR56_init.lua With those its possible to export the RWR to another monitor using the normal method in the savegames/monitosetup file F_16C_RWR = { x = 4061, y = 1146, width = 372, height = 376 }2 points

I agree with something simpler, at least to start with. The first thing is to have animated pilot figures, independent of the ones mounted on aircraft, so we can stage missions with the pilot already down. Smoke, flares, and other effects can be programmed when designing a mission. Then, the aforementioned could be implemented, which would be ideal. I believe you. It's not a requirement; we're conscious consumers. But since this is the wishing well...2 points

It's been a very disappointing experience for me (one more to add to the DCS World disappointments). I regret buying this map, along with the Sinai. Low resolution textures, terrible loading times. Looks ok at a distance, looks really bad at low altitude. I bought it based on the Orbx name. I believe this Orbx is not the same as the one that developed for P3D.2 points

COMING SOON In this DCS: F-16C Viper video, we’ll discuss the basic operation of the AN/AAQ-33 Advanced Targeting Pod, or ATP in this video. While we’ve had a targeting pod for our Viper for quite some time, it has inaccuracies and was more a mash-up of LANTIRN and Litening pods that we’ll continue to offer with our Viper. The ATP, however, is quite accurate and based on a US Viper circa 2007. While much of the ATP will have commonality with the existing targeting pod, it has distinct differences like Multi-Target Track, TV and infrared camera picture in picture, extended range image processing, an infrared pointer, and more advanced air-to-air features. In later videos, we’ll review these more advanced features. Please note that all HOTAS commands can be found using the SEARCH command in the Input Manager based on the input names used in the video. NOTE 1: Upon completing a couple more Viper and F/A-18C videos, general DCS update videos will continue. NOTE 2: This targeting pod has a much common name, but it is trademarked. NOTE 3: Point track doesn't require a long press of TMS Forward, rather I find it works best for me. When you press TMS Forward, it will enter AREA track while held; and then upon release of TMS Forward, regardless of duration of press, the pod will attempt to establish a POINT track but may stay in AREA if POINT isn't possible. NOTE 4: Until recently, there was an issue where if MIDS was enabled before the GPS had fully initialized and gained timing signals (GPS SYSTEM displayed on the TIME DED page), the MIDS wouldn't select GPS time automatically for its timing reference so it could achieve FINE sync. However, we have changed it so that the DLNK selects GPS by default now as soon as GPS time is available, so it doesn't matter. So, you can now enable GPS and MIDS immediately after getting on engine power, and the MIDS will self-initialize as needed when the INS is aligned and GPS timing is achieved. NOTE 5: DTOS is not valid for Snowplow, only CCRP and LADD for the bombing modes. Full video Text:2 points
