Don't know what fixed it, but If I wait for 60 seconds after choosing a mission and sit through a black screen I will populate a cockpit....eventually.

Going through the same thing right now. Running cleanup/repair as we speak. Did it for f14 and f16 three tries each.

This definitely has to do with resolution. When I was running 2k/2d I couldn't spot anything. Then I switched to VR (quest 2) and I could spot like I used to at 1080p. The odd things is this only applies from 30 miles to about 8, maybe 6 miles then they disappear until maybe 3-2 miles. So idk what is going on there.

Single player with a SERVER track file is the only way to go. When I film I run a second instance, no render DCS World private server on the same PC. Go to multiplayer, find the sever, get in and fly. Back out and replay the server track file. Sadly not from inside the cockpit.

So I'm hearing rumors that HB has a surprise in the upcoming update. It maybe hype, but do think it could be; removable fuel tank pylons, glove vanes....?

It really needs to be video too understand. I don't notice the effect in the Viper or Hornet which is weird. I don't know that it is a heatblur thing. It could just be the way DCS sees the canopy bow as separate views. That is your can see odd things on terrain around the canopy bow when shadows and water reflection are calculated.

I am basically a computer illiterate boomer. I set gamma to 1.2. Crazy but worked. I have to set gamma dependant on environment I am flying.....every time they environment changes I have to change it. Sigh.

I have a new widescreen monitor and started messing with some settings and I guess I messed something up. Upon loading everthing is fine, but if I use the zoom slider to zoom in, when I zoom back out the center position is so zoomed in all I can see is the hud. I have gone into the left ctrl pause break and changed and saved the FOV but as soon as I touch the zoom slider it goes back to FOV of 90. Am I doing something wrong. The FOV slider in the menu reflects what I am seeing as well. I set it to 100. Touch the slider and center it. Now my FOV is 80. I hate the TM warthog zoom because of the jitter. I can use the zoom axis to get back to 100 but I may have a seizure from the jittering. Is there a way to save the default zoom setting. I now I did something as now it seems every plane spawn in has an FOV of 80

I'll have to try the latter as I tried. RALT+NUMPAD0 To Save as Default View/Position for This Aircraft. It did not work. Thank You.

Roger that. I didn't used to be this bad though.

It is not the filter but when the sun is a couple hours after sunrise or before sunset behind my 3-9 line. I turned my gamma down but it is invisible in certain lighting situations. Ill have to keep messing with settings I guess.

It did used to be difficult in certain lighting situations, but now it is a lot worse. Is that just the way it is now or should I adjust my gamma? Any tips are welcome. I even turned off Reshade. Maybe a reshade setting will help?

I see it in 2d sometimes as well.

My wing sweep cover and handle works fine. Maybe this is just your build? Are you hitting the reset button?
