  1. My apologies for not responding earlier - after a reboot, the switch could be engaged - silly me, should have tried that before posting the initial query!
  2. When watching a track I noticed that the "IAS" on the (bottom info bar) was indicating some 190 km/hr whereas the airspeed indicator was indicating some 380 km/hr!! Should there be such a big difference between these? I thought that the airspeed indicator in the cockpit reflected the "indicated airspeed"? I must say, in the above case the airspeed felt far closer to the 190 km/hr than to the 380 km/hr!! Would be interested to hear your views on this. Thanks
  3. I'm having a problem with engaging the Sammler (battery) circuit-breaker ie it won't stay down - it reverts to the "up" immediately after I depress it!! Has anyone got any idea as to what I'm doing wrong?!
  4. Thanks, guys! I checked it out this evening and I noticed that the (instant) mission commences with the (airborne) Spit’ having its PARKING BRAKES ENGAGED! No wonder I was tipping forward after landing!! How silly was that?!
  5. I’ve flown WWII flight sim’s since 1996 and spend the majority of my “sim time” flying, as opposed to engaging in combat. I recently started to work through the Spit’s “instant action” missions and the one that has really got me stumped is the “Landing” mission using the Channel Map. My problem is that in perhaps 90% of my landings the Spit’ rolls along nice and smoothly (after landing) and then pitches forward into the ground … with no braking on my part, and with my joystick pulled fully back (to keep its tail down). I do occasionally pull it off but the aircraft still tips forward and then tips back with a big thud !! I’m interested to know whether others find this (Instant Action) mission such a problem (for a pitch forward/prop strike) and if they don’t, is there a little trick that I’m missing?
  6. Many thanks, peachmonkey! I've tried the mission and am unable to start my engine. I think that I had switched all circuit-breakers on but I don't get a reading for either of the two fuel tanks - am I doing something wrong?
  7. Thanks Baldrick33 and peachmonkey - I'll wait for you (peachmonkey) to upload it to the community files.
  8. I've been practising cold starts with the Spitfire Mk IX. I'm now moving to the Fw 190 A-8 but I see that there is no 'cold start' mission for this aircraft. Does anyone have a 'cold start' mission for the Fw 190 A-8?
  9. I was able to get the 3 buttons to light up but somehow it didn't follow through to the flaps - that's as I recall it now - it's been awhile back!
  10. I wasn't sure where I should post this question, but have done so here. I remember once reading that one could access the various maps (images) in the Eagle Dynamics/DCS World folder - I would be grateful if someone would advise me as to how to do this (I'm wanting to print out a hard copy of the Detling area). Many thanks.
  11. I would appreciate some advice on this. My Virpil Mongoos throttle CM3 has a flaps lever that isn't recognised in the DCS control menu - I THINK because the lever is an axis control and the DCS flaps command is a button control ie either as a toggle; or as a separate "up" and "down" buttons. I'm not sure how to take it further - the Virpil config software "sees" the flaps lever (axis) but the DCS control menu (buttons for flaps) does not. Any help would be appreciated.
  12. I would appreciate some guidance on this. How do I edit the following description lua in accordance with the above advice? My description lua for Kurt Buhlingen skin is the following - I don't see a line similar to {"Fw190_serial_L1", 0 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_D_Hans_Dortenmann",false}? livery = { {"Fw190A-8_Fuselage", 0 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_NN",false}; {"Fw190A-8_Fuselage", 1 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_N",true}; {"Fw190A-8_Fuselage", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Fuselage_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190A-8_Wing_R", 0 ,"Fw190_Wing_R_NN",false}; {"Fw190A-8_Wing_R", 1 ,"Fw190_Wing_R_N",true}; {"Fw190A-8_Wing_R", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Wing_R_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190A-8_Wing_L", 0 ,"Fw190_Wing_L_NN",false}; {"Fw190A-8_Wing_L", 1 ,"Fw190_Wing_L_N",true}; {"Fw190A-8_Wing_L", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Wing_L_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190_serial_L1", 0 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_NN",false}; {"Fw190_serial_L1", 1 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_N",true}; {"Fw190_serial_L1", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Fuselage_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190_serial_L1", DECAL ,"Fw190_serial number",true}; {"Fw190_serial_L2", 0 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_NN",false}; {"Fw190_serial_L2", 1 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_N",true}; {"Fw190_serial_L2", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Fuselage_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190_serial_L2", DECAL ,"Fw190_serial number",true}; {"Fw190_serial_L3", 0 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_NN",false}; {"Fw190_serial_L3", 1 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_N",true}; {"Fw190_serial_L3", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Fuselage_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190_serial_L3", DECAL ,"Fw190_serial number",true}; {"Fw190_serial_R1", 0 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_NN",false}; {"Fw190_serial_R1", 1 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_N",true}; {"Fw190_serial_R1", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Fuselage_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190_serial_R1", DECAL ,"Fw190_serial number",true}; {"Fw190_serial_R2", 0 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_NN",false}; {"Fw190_serial_R2", 1 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_N",true}; {"Fw190_serial_R2", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Fuselage_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190_serial_R2", DECAL ,"Fw190_serial number",true}; {"Fw190_serial_R3", 0 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_NN",false}; {"Fw190_serial_R3", 1 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_N",true}; {"Fw190_serial_R3", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Fuselage_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190_serial_R3", DECAL ,"Fw190_serial number",true}; {"Fw190_bort_R1_number", 0 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_NN",false}; {"Fw190_bort_R1_number", 1 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_N",true}; {"Fw190_bort_R1_number", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Fuselage_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190_bort_R1_number", DECAL ,"Fw190_bort_number",true}; {"Fw190_bort_R2_number", 0 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_NN",false}; {"Fw190_bort_R2_number", 1 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_N",true}; {"Fw190_bort_R2_number", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Fuselage_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190_bort_R2_number", DECAL ,"Fw190_bort_number",true}; {"Fw190_bort_L1_number", 0 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_NN",false}; {"Fw190_bort_L1_number", 1 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_N",true}; {"Fw190_bort_L1_number", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Fuselage_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190_bort_L1_number", DECAL ,"Fw190_bort_number",true}; {"Fw190_bort_L2_number", 0 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_NN",false}; {"Fw190_bort_L2_number", 1 ,"Fw190_Fuselage_N",true}; {"Fw190_bort_L2_number", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC ,"Fw190_Fuselage_D_RoughMet",true}; {"Fw190_bort_L2_number", DECAL ,"Fw190_bort_number",true}; } name = "Fw -190A8 Kurt Buhlingen JG2"
  13. Many thanks, Shahdoh - it's up and working!
  14. Edge 540 : Need Help with the Install My apologies for asking what is probably a question that has been answered elsewhere. I downloaded the Edge 540 from the VAR Series website and it appears to have installed correctly within my DCS installation under "Program Files/Eagle Dynamics" ie the aircraft (Edge 540) is under "Mods/Aircraft" and the pylons are under "Mods/tech", but I do not see it as an available aircraft on my 'DCS World' opening screen or under any of the aircraft available for any of the missions. Is it a case of moving these two folders to the following location, or merely typing this? ..\Saved Games\<DCS_Install_name>\Mods\aircraft\Edge 540 What is "DCS Install name" (above)? My saved "User PC/saved games" folder is on my C drive (SSD) and my "Program Files, Eagle Dynamics" folder is on my C drive (HDD). I'm new to DCS and I would be grateful to receive some guidance on this. Many thanks
