  1. Having same issue whenever I just hit the F-10 key to look at the map. The sim feels like it freezes for about 10 to 15 seconds before returning back to the F-1 view.
  2. What's happening is that I look out over my wing and I see all the ordinance loaded and when I get airborne I check the stores page and the inventory shows zero quantity even though the ordinance is on the wing of the aircraft. Were playing the MP mission Foothold and I'm wondering if the wind may be too high over the deck. I don't see the plane moving, but I can't seem to stop the ground crew from yelling at me, "Hey, what are you doing!" This seems to happen ever time we play this mission and I depart the carrier. Is it possible the flight model change may be affecting the mission?
  3. I’m having the same issues. The Carrier is not in a turn, I’m sitting in a new jet trying to rearm in a MP session and the ground crew keeps shouting at me “What are you doing!” I’m in an F-18C requesting a new loadout. I look out at the aircraft and see it’s chocked and engines are not running, no movement either.
  4. IMPORTANT First off thank you #BIGNEWY and everyone who has responded. I made some progress and I wanted to share it with the forum. I think the problem caused by the stuttering is multiple issues, I'm only going to focus on two. Forgive me in advance for typing too much, but their is a lot to share. When the DCS 2.9 patch was released I just assumed that the stuttering introduced was caused by the patch, but I may have been wrong. I think the 2.9 patch only brought to the forefront what had been lying below the surface all the time. First-off let me just say that I am not a programmer and these are just my observations. I am now currently running DCS 2.9 with all my settings turned back on and enjoying the sim again maybe even better than 2.8. Their are still some issues, but for me they are minor and I feel the fluidity of motion in the simulator that I have always loved about DCS. There were two stuttering issues that I was dealing with: the first was micro stuttering that I was seeing every second and this was driving me nuts. This is now gone. I was able to remove this by installing a piece of software called Lasso, which optimises your CPU for gaming. Just installing this software and making one setting change allowed DCS to run much smoother. I will let others smarter than me comment on what this software is doing. My understanding is that this helps prioritize threads sent to the CPU and increases the effienciency of hyperthreading going on in the CPU. Obviously, this is a very complex issue and we can't expect ED developers to understand what is going on inside everyones PC. But I would like to remind others that just because you are not having this issue does not mean it does not exist and should moderate your comments in the furture. I would also like to recommend that ED look into what the program Lasso is doing to optimise CPU usage and see if this would help with furture development. The second stuttering issues seems be caused by what I think are texture files being moved in and out of memory. I think this problem has always existed, but 2.9 being more efficient with Multi-Treading (MT) just brough it more to the surface. I think faster PCs with faster speed M.2 drives and ram can reduce this problem even more, but it would be nice if the developers in the future might be able to find a way to improve the efficency of loading and unloading texture files. You can see this stuttering when you flying low over the terrian at 1000 ft and pass over a bunch of F-16Cs or AH-64Ds taxing on the ground. Their is an Instant Action mission for the F-15E using the Syria map called Free Flight. Once the practice mission starts turn right to a heading 050 and descend down through the clouds to 3000 ft MSL. In about 20 NM you will see Tel Nof airfield with a bunch of aircraft taxing on the ground. Head for the aircraft on the taxiway and pass over them at 500 ft. and watch the FPS graph (CTRL Pause). As you pass over them look at the graph, if you see a bunch of green spikes and stuttering then you are seeing the issue I am talking about. I realize that many of you are not seeing this problem, but I would like to know if others are having the issue in hope that we might get this resolved in the future. I do believe that Lasso has reduced the severity of the stuttering a little and I would like to know if others are having any sucess in reducing it even further using diffrent settings either in DCS or Lasso itself. Like many of you, I have been pulling what little hair I have left to fix this problem. Yes, I am referring only to my hair and no one elses. I deleted DCS from my hardrive. Installed two new M.2 drives and reinstalled DCS on one and installed Windows 11 on the other hoping to improve my situation. Anyone looking to install Windows 11 over Windows 10 in hope of improving things should know that this is not what I initially found. Not sure why, but initally running Windows 11 with DCS 2.9 made all the stuttering much worse. I came across another thread on the forum regarding Lasso and as a desperate act I decided to install it. I am not recommeding a Thirdy Party solution here, but I did not know what else to try. But to my suprised it dramatically improved my stuttering. My hope is that others will comment here and help us to understand why it worked and to let ED know, so that they might be able to use this feedback in furture development. Again to summurize if your running a CPU with a high core count like a 12th, 13th and 14th Gen Intel Processor or AMD Threadripper and you are experiencing micro stuttering that nothing else seems to fix then this might help. If it does not work you can just uninstall the software. As for the stuttering caused by texture files being loaded in or out of memory, I am hoping that over time this will get better. For now I am able to fly again so thank you all for your help. Checkmate Ryzen AMP Threadripper 3970x RTX 2080 ti 128gb DDR4 Windows 11
  5. I'm using Windows 11. I went under System / Power / and set Power Mode to Best Performance, which had no effect. Are you running Windows 11 and if so do you no where to go to deactivate it?
  6. I went ahead an erased my harddrive and installed Windows 11 hoping that would improve the stuttering issue since I was running Windows 10. This seems to have made things worse. Now I have stuttering ever second no matter what I do. I have the same issue as #Vigo68. It does not matter if I run MT or ST or make any graphics changes. When I look at FPS graph I see a masive green spike ever second. I'm wondering if something in Windows 11 is running in the background causing the DCS stutter? dcs.log
  7. I tried disabling Hyper Threading which did not help at all. The sim is very fluid for me over water and open terrain, but just like the video Jabber showed, if I fly over an airport with AI moving on the ground and get close the sim starts freezing. If you want me to post a video let me know how. I was flying over F-16s and Apaches when the sim started pausing. This happens in any aircraft. My best guess is this must be caused by tectures loading. Not sure why this started happening with Patch 2.9. Watch the video link appove "VRAM Overflow."
  8. I have an RTX 2080 TI and I the stuttering problem introduced from patch 2.9. If I fly an instant action mission like the Sinai map and takeoff and turn arround and fly down the runway passing over AI aircraft the sim pauses almost a full second making DCS unflyable. I'm not sure any hardware upgrade is going to fix this. What I do know is a lot of people are talking about the stuttering problem except ED. It would have been nice to hear that they were working on it. Sometimes a little hope can go a long way.
  9. The patch did not fix any of the stuttering. This is why I was afraid to pre-order F4-E Phantom II. DCS is not flyable with all this stuttering. Why did ED not make this a priorty to fix???
  10. I found this video from Jabber who does an excellent job in breaking down what may be the cause of the stuttering in DCS after the 2.9 patch came out. If anybody has not seen his video regarding Case III landings it is a must see. I am posting his link here regarding the issue he discusses regarding Vram Overflow and Multi Threading. Hope it adds some insight regarding what may be causing some of the stutters and freezes.
  11. I think both of you put it best. Here's hoping that ED is listening.
  12. Just tried moving those two lines and then flew the Instant Action mission on the Sinai map Free Flight and it's still stuttering. Thanks for trying.
  13. Move these two lines to the end? local wwtlfs=require('lfs') dofile(wwtlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/wwt/wwtExport.lua')
  14. Interesting idea. I tried it with the Instant Action Mission using Free Flight on the Sinai Map. I flew over the coast as you suggested in the F-15E with autopilot holding me for about an hour. After holding off the coast I turned inboud for the airport. Once I got with in 10nm of the airport with all the AI moving around I descended down to 1500 feet and over flew the F-16s taxi to runway. Once I was over the F-16 it started to stutter pretty badly. It was very smooth up until that point. I guess this has something to do with textures loading, not sure.
  15. I get the worst stuttering when I overfly six AI aircraft below me taxi or taxi by them. If I hit F2, F3 or F10 it stutters as well. Trying flying the Instant Action Mission on the Sinai map for Free Flight. That has a bunch of aircraft on the field that I can over fly and it causes a stutter fest. If I go out over the cost it becomes fluid again.
  16. It seems from what I have read online and from other members this is a 2.9 issue. Sometimes it helps to hear that others are experiencing the same issue because it gives other hope that maybe someday ED will fix these stutter issues. Let’s try and understand that most of us just can’t go out and buy new hardware as ED tries to update DCS to improve graphics. For those of us that fly online with a squad it is not an option to fly on 2.8 since the servers are all usually flying the latest beta version. It’s nice to know that not everyone is feeling the problem, but after looking at the forums it seems more people are effected than not. I think it’s helpful to hear from both sides so we can get an idea if their is hardware out their that is running DCS without stutters in DCS then at least their is hope that with new modules like the Phantom F-4E coming out that some day I will get the chance to fly it. If this issue was really something simple it would have been fixed by now.
  17. Me too. I don't seem to have any stuttering when I am out over the ocean or on the coast away from other objects.
  18. I wasn't aware that you could do that. Is thier something I can do to help identify that this is a core issue or anything I can try to fix it.
  19. I tried deleting both FXO and metashaders, which did not seem to having any effect. I also deleted DCS and reinstalled it on a diffrent drive to see if that would help. I updated my Nvida drivers, which I was hoping would help, but had no effect either. I'm don't think I am running any mods at this time other than the aircraft I downloaded from DCS World and Tacview. I tried turning tacview off and it still stuttering. If this a Core issue then it's beyond me since I am that tech savy and I'm not sure how to even mess with that.
  20. I wanted to reach out because I am not sure what to do at this point with my system. I am not sure if this is a hardware issue or the patch 2.9. Before the patch I did not have these issues and after patch I have had a serious problem with freezing and stuttering when flying around the carrier in the F/A-18c or dogfighting 1v1 in the F-15e. It seems to be brought on when I pass other objects. If I fly by another aircraft like in the merge or pass by the carrier in the break I get stuttering. I have tried turning things off or lower settings to no avail. My system is not bleading edge, but it is not that old either. My system is an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970x, 128 GB Ram, RTX 2080 TI and M.2 SSD drives. I was thinking about upgrading the video board to a 4080, but at this point I can't tell if that would really help. I'm not sure what to try to solve this problem or hope that ED is working on it. In the track I included I can turn on my FrameRate RCtrl-Pause and when I pass the AI aircraft in the merge it start's to stutter momentally. Also, I can't fly around the carrier anymore without a lot of stuttering. When I approach the boat on the Stern side and look down at the boat on my left it is a stutter fest until I pass the boat and when I approach the carrier for landing it just pauses for almost a 1/2 second just before touching down. Not very smooth or fluid like it was before. Any ideas would be appreciated. dcs.log DxDiag.txt 1v1 F-15E vs F-5.trk
  21. I have the same problem. I think at this point it would really be helpful if ED would just respond and let us know that they are working it. I am really looking forward to the F4 from Heatblur. I have to put all flying on DCS on hold, because I can’t fix this shuddering problem and I don’t think buying new hardware is going to fix it.
