[F4E A2A Refueling difficulty]

Hi everyone! I'm practically going crazy trying to complete an A2A refueling with the F4E.

I should start by saying that in real life I was a military pilot and flew the F16, and I can assure you that refueling with the Boom wasn't that difficult!

What I particularly notice is the lack of depth of field, and also field of view, but I don't know if any of you are the same. The biggest problem is that in VR the forward/backward signs are very difficult to see. Is it just me who's getting older, or have any of you had the same impression? If so, do you have any advice?

So how do you create an air-to-air refueling mission flying the Phantom? Because other tankers don't have a boom.

I've been trying to air-refuel with the Phantom for days now, but without success, because I can't contact the KC-135 at all.

Conditions:

Easy communications: OFF

In the mission editor, I place the tanker at 22,000 feet, 370 knots GS, adding some waypoints. I set the COM frequency, for example, 305.000 MHz UHF and set the TAC channel to 21Y.

I jump aboard, take off, and approach the tanker. Radar OFF, intercepting the tanker with the TACAN. On the radio, I select MANUAL and set the COM frequency to 305.000 MHz. I have green lights on both COM and NAV, with the volume set to maximum.

I get into close formation to the left of the tanker.

At this point, I open the communications menu, F6 contact the tanker, F1 intent to refuel. I transmit ".....Request rejoin" but from this point on, I get no response.

If I choose, for example, F-18 or F-16 for the same mission I created, everything works fine and I refuel without any problem.

Can you help me? Am I missing something? Am I doing something wrong on board the F-4E or in the mission editor? I look forward to your advice and thank you in advance.
