About flaps. Yes it will, probably in the first official patch ;)

MIG29/SU27/SU33 HUD IAS or TAS in Search
Robin_Hood replied to IvanK's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yeah, only Beyond Visual Range mode gives TAS (excluding STT), which makes sense, cause I don't need my CAS/IAS in close combat. As for STT? does it show TAS when locked from BVR mode and IAS/CAS when locked from any other mode ? (the STT already wasn't consistent, anyway, since it gave target speed only when locked from BVR modes (radar or EOS)) -
Should be in the first FC2 patch. I have no idea how far away the release would be, though. I'm really looking forward the corrections. But what I'm even more looking forward, is Yo-Yo's turn performance diagrams for all airplanes :)
-
By the way, after some tests I found out that planes with F-15 cockpit can deliver Air-to-Ground ordnance, but with heavy limitations. From what I was able to do : - Dumb bombs work, with CCIP, but all bombs are released at the same time, whatever their type (ex: Mk82 and Mk20 released at the same time) - Rockets (non-guided) work, also with CCIP. Not sure if they are all released at the same time in salvo or not I'd like to know, what would people rather have on US fighter/attack planes (F-16s, F/A-18s, F-4Es, etc...) : F-15 cockpit with limited A/G capability, or Russian cockpit (MiG-29G at best, with imperial units) with full A/G capability ? Of course, it could depend on the specific plane
-
And what was the problem ?
-
Yes, I noticed that also ;) I think in all planes given the F-15C cockpit. Didn't notice the problem on Russian cockpits
-
I would just like to add, however, that this don't necessarily means that flight models have the same realism as other flyables SFM planes. Remember that it is intended to be for AI use, so strange performance may occur ;)

Be advised, this project has a new thread now ;) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=52783

I'm assuming you're talking about Flaming Cliffs 1 (Lock-On version 1.1x). As far as TrackIR issue is concerned, check maybe if there is a file "trackir.ini" in "Input" folder (maybe it is Config\Input ?). If there is, delete it, then launch the game and try again. You should always launch TrackIR first, then Lock-on, else it won't work (and it will creat the trackIR.ini which will prevent subsequent launching to work). I hope that's the problem, else I don't know. Can't help you with the other issues, either
-
Anyway, a "STOSL" plane is already fine :)
-
Yeah, I noticed the shortcuts have some additional commands on them. Is that what you're talking about, EtherealN ? I will give it a try EDIT : I gave a look, the most important thing, I think, is to have the "Start in" box right ;) (ie main game folder, not bin\etc...), or it won't find files

I should be able to answer these questions :) At the moment at least, the answer would be no. Boom/Hoses are deployed once the Tanker is airborne. This is unfortunate, but I don't know if it is possible to make otherwise. Well, you can use F4 view, and maybe tweak it so that it is placed as you wish. But unfortunately, the Tanker pilot doesn't see the boom/hoses deployed. Others do, however (same issue as sweep-wings). Not that I know of. Though, there could (theoretically) be with the beta version which have been released (look for topic "More flyable planes" below). But you'd better wait for the final version ;) Seconded. Thanks to them, it is a lot of work

Yeah, but that is not a vertical landing, it is a carrier-landing simulation (F-35C). But good video :) By the way, about the Harrier, I think little-dog has told me the same thing (he managed to modify the FM, but it would always stall at 60 knots)... Don't know if there is a value somwhere to avoid that. I had also noticed that weight in lua doesn't do anything. Keep on sharing findings

Flaming Cliff 2 AWACS & Tactical Screen
Robin_Hood replied to maxtow's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Or there is LotATC 2. Not yet 100% FC2 compatible (because of the map) http://lotatc.dartsite.org/ Looks like several people are working on the same thing. -
Mig 29 and refueling fuel tanks.
Robin_Hood replied to CVFSGoran_VU's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
A least, I know that in-flight refueling does not refill fuel tanks (F-15s). So, it could very well be the same thing with ground refueling -
Just to add some clarification : It seems possible to add characteristics for other aircrafts in the two aforementionned files. But of course, there is no base value accessible to modify, so they must all be guessed - or tested
-
I fiddled with refueling in the editor, and I noticed that under "Refueling" US planes, there is an S-3A Tanker. But placing either a F/A-18 or a F-14 with a refueling waypoint apparently won't let them refuel at the Viking. It is as if the Viking wasn't recognized as a tanker. So, is the Viking tanker completely useless since it can't refuel anybody ? Under the exact same conditions, F-16s have no problem refueling at a KC-10
-
That's what I meant. The SPO, at least, gives you only a signal strength, from which the distance can be deduced only knowing the radar type. I would guess that US RWRs would work the same way at best.
-
I'm curious, how would it know the actual distance ?

What kind of FAC options will there be with FC 2?
Robin_Hood replied to Speed's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
And, as far as I know, there is no in-cockpit way to give geographical coordinates. If everyone has a common waypoint, you could call a Bullseye position though (with the Bullseye being the common waypoint) -
Just kidding, because the Su-33 is seeing very limited service ;)
-
Should be possible to carry a mock-up Kh-41 :megalol: Anyway, Su-33 is practically fictional already :music_whistling:
-
I personnally use 18 curve for pitch. Though, I haven't particularly fine tuned it, it was a wild guess
-
I noticed indeed that features like sweep-wings, but also A-50 rotating radar dome, Tankers' drogues/boom and such appear to other players only (so that a player piloting a tanker can't really guide others on the boom). That is too bad, but hey, there must be limitations somehow, unless ED is willing to give tips ;)
