  1. I used to launch MT through the DCS.exe file in \bin-mt folder since I have it running in a batch file that runs other apps on launch. Because of the steam problem you mentioned I can't do this anymore. Is there maybe a way around this?
  2. I am running on steam and had the same problem. I am on MT preview and the only way I could get it to work was to launch DCS through the steam application library window(where it has that green box that says PLAY with a sideways triangle). Any other way of launching DCS was a no go. Running from a steam generated desktop shortcut, running via DCS.exe in \bin-mt folder did not work. Doing this I can't run my batch file that runs some apps while launching DCS, so this is a bit of an inconvenience but it worked for me.
  3. Steam version here, does NOT work on either MT or ST versions. Anti Aliasing and Upscaling are all greyed out.
  4. Hi, Loving my simshaker. One question though. I'm having a massive shake response on the carrier between installing the holdback bar and getting the launch bar over the shuttle. Anything I can touch to mitigate this? I use a buttkicker gamer pro with simshaker for aviators beta, Thanks!
  5. @Flappie After my (now routine) Anti Stutter Warfare on a Friday night, I've ascertained the culprit as the latest Adrenalin driver(WHQL 22.11.2). It produces better framerates(about 5%), but with aforementioned flaw. DDUed, reinstalled the last WHQL driver(22.5.1) and is back to silky smooth flying. Anything after the May driver, recommended or optional, DCS has some sort of trouble. Doing this drops support for other games released recently, but since DCS takes precedence, screw them. I am seriously thinking of going Nvidia for my next rig. I might have more time logged troubleshooting than flying.
  6. On the Hornet Caucasus free flight, just push the stick forward and start flying low. When getting real low, something like under 200ft RALT, it suddenly starts to stutter. Having noticed this, tried landing and yes, it stutters while on approach and on ground. Wondering if anyone else noticed this. Or I might have to start another anti stutter warfare on my own. 5800x3d, 6800xt, 32gb. EDIT : Did the usual stutter squashing SOP - fxo/meta folder flush, driver check, mods removal, set all shadows to off
  7. @Th3ChosenOn3 Yeah, it might have been the youtube compression making it look like stutter. Well it seems like I might make the jump to 7900xtx after all. Thanks for the benchmark!
  8. Congrats on the upgrade. I noticed some micro stuttering after feet dry. Is the driver WHQL? I noticed stutters on my 6800xt while running optional non WHQL drivers.
  9. @Flappie One more thing to share. If you are using an AMD GPU, chances are you have Adrenalin software installed. I noticed one of its program, "radeon settings host service" was constantly taxing my CPU by 20%, causing stutters. I don't know what it does and how it does it, but the program lies dormant all the time except for when DCS is running(Other games seem fine / something ED could look into?). There are lots of fixes that can be found in google, all regarding turning off AMD Relive(something related to recording), but it didn't work for me. Killing it in task manager doesn't do anything either since it resurrects itself instantly. Only thing I could do is reboot to safe mode, and rename the exe file You can find it in "C:\Program Files\AMD\CNext\CNext" and the file name is "AMDRSServ.exe". Rename it to something else, reboot, and you should be good to go. You might want to do this again when your GPU driver updates though.
  10. If it hasn't been mentioned already, I previously got rid of some stutters by disabling the full screen mode in DCS options.
  11. @durp @Flappie I think I've found the problem. Sometime ago, I adjusted my MFD screens' brightness through the Adrenalin control panel's "custom color" settings for each display, since the Hornet's MFD export was too dim. That was the culprit. I disabled custom color and everything is back to normal. That was the last thing I suspected since I seriously thought the problem was one of the numerous updates that happened all at once. I am being cautious though since every time I thought I'd figured it out, I was proven wrong a couple of days later. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  12. @durp Yeah, I upgraded(kinda) to the 5800X3D from a 5600x specifically for DCS. It really helped with the low 1% Good point on the page file. Didn't realize it was set that low. Just changed it to 32GB. It did run well on 2.7. But to be honest, I was away from my PC for a while, and when I came back there were tons of updates that happened all at once including 2.8. Still trying to figure out what went wrong. @Flappie I tried unplugging, and changing to a wired one. But nojoy. The more I look in to it, the weirder the symtoms get. Ugh.
  13. @durp Thanks for your input. Yeah, It's constant troubleshooting with this AMD rig I have. I'm trying your suggestion one by one. Will let you know how it turns out. Another observation is when stuttering occurs, I can change the view distance in the options and when the game restarts, the stuttering disappears. I'm not sure if it's just the view distance or any other options that require a restart though.
  14. I'm recently experiencing massive stuttering in DCS(steam version). The game stutters horribly from the start. Log files of both normal and stuttering cases attached. 1. Normally the game will run at 110ish FPS in Caucasus free flight. GPU99%, CPU15% load 2. When stuttering, it will drop to 28~45 FPS with GPU10~30%, CPU15% load While the metric says 28~45 FPS, it actually feels like a slideshow. 1~2 FPS My rig is a 5800X3D, 6800XT, 3200Mhz 32G DDR4, 1TB NVMe SSD system with all the latest drivers. Pagefile is set to auto. Windows gaming mode off. I have trackIR, Voiceattack, SimAppPro, SimShaker for Aviators running in the background. The stuttering can only be resolved by flushing the fxo and metashader folders. However, after 1~2 runs(exit DCS) it comes back. Been trying to ascertain the cause but nothing came up. 1. System restart 2. VGA Driver reinstall, rollback(This works like flushing the two folders. Only works for the first 1~2 runs, then stuttering returns) 3. Auto HDR on/off 4. Turning off aforementioned programs 5. Removing Mods 6. Setting FPS caps(Adrenalin control panel and DCS autoexec.cfg) 7. VSYNC on/off 8. Freesync on/off 9. Full screen on/off 10. Disabling everything in export.lua EDIT : Noticed that stuttering depends on where I am looking at. (Camera shot attached. All shots taken at starting position of Caucasus freeflight) 1. Looking straight ahead results in stuttering. If the canopy frame or HUD comes into view, stuttering starts. 2. Panning Right also stutters. 3. Anything from MFD and downwards it becomes smooth again. 4. Panning left is smooth 5. Looking directly up is also smooth Also Noticed When stuttering, External MFDs on Cougars flicker too. Save me. dcs(normal).log dcs(stutter).log
