  1. If you want to get more in-depth about the theory behind retreating blade stall, this is a great vid. It's for the Hip, not the Hind so the speeds are different, but otherwise it's bang on
  2. I've had this issue with the fishbed too, next time it happens I'll chuck a on track on here
  3. Tried finding a more relevant place for this to go but I couldn't so... Would it be possible to get a list of the newsletters available on the main website, similar to the changelogs? Currently it's hard (for me at least) to find the newsletters without trawling through the forums to find a link, or to dig through my emails, which seem to lag behind a fair bit.
  4. Looks good! Not really relevant to the guide itself, but is the ingress / egress stuff for waypoint sequences just semantic, or does it have a practical purpose? (e.g. different symbology etc.)
  5. Razo has it right, but to be super unambigous, you're trying to lock onto a datalink image when you don't have a radar return, which you can't do. Also worth bearing in mind the different scan centering modes (AUTO/MAN/BIAS) that may affect the position of the scan volume. As always, Chuck's guide has an excellent section describing this
  6. This was my first thought, that vertical speed indicator is for the takeoff mode, the "blank" one as you say is cruise. Weapon symbology is on A/A
  7. A2A is all about tactics, I've found this is pretty good
  8. In my personal experience the Quest 2 just didn't cut it, even with VERY high settings, couldn't read the MFDs on the viper or hornet
  9. FWIW 300ft range with 30ft base seems to be a good setting for me. I understand that's not answering your question, and I'm also eager to find the actual convergence
  10. I would also love a bit of a refresh for the Su-25 planes. Obviously the dream would be a full fidelity one, but I have a soft spot for the froggy in any case
  11. Can't check it out right now, but sounds excellent. Do the sites include realistic air defence emplacements (I assume they would have some), or is that up to us? Anyway, looking forward to trying it
  12. Just took off for the first time in the mossie, and she's a beaut (tutorial with the horrid takeoff assist doesn't count ) After taking off and climbing (I was probably aorund 2000ft, but wasn't paying attention) there was an ear splitting whine to the left of the pilot. This occured somewhere around when I turned north up the coast, after passing back over the airfield. I couldn't obviously figure out what it was, and it was nearly painful. Is this a weird bug, or have I miseed something that I can turn off / down? I turned on the VHF, but left the rest of the radios alone, so unsure what it could be. Only had this in a multiplayer mission, so track is too large to upload herer, but have attached a drive link if you're happy to use that. Thanks! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DaRmcuUomCJ0o_AAG3qYCQsX8vAzbrAR/view?usp=sharing
  13. I think there was talk of making it render as a raster display (like the A-10 I think, memory is a bit fuzzy). No idea if this is on the timeline
  14. Very curious to see if you get a good answer. I never fixed and actually ended up returning my quest 2, I couldn't even read the F-16's MFDs properly with all the settings cranked up
  15. What spurts said! Keep NWS off, airbrake, and remember that ABS hasn't been implemented (I think), so easy on the brakes. One last thing to add, more for anyone else, this is an excellent tutorial for landing the viper
  16. Still not working for me. I set it up with default on CH0, Kobuleti on CH1, still wouldn't work after selecting the R-828 on the SPU, and holding the AUT button after changing channel Couldn't contact flight on CH0, ATC on 1
  17. When trying to use the R-828 I cannot get voice to work throught SRS (although it does with the R-863, and I'm setting the radio source between the two). It also does not work to communicate with AI in my flight. When connected via SRS I can see that when I change the channel knob, nothing happens. I have done a full repair of DCS, and am using the latest (1.9.7.0) version of SRS Track was multiplayer and 30MB so here's a drive link. I can try and make a smaller one if you need https://drive.google.com/file/d/1u25Wb18zpQG0QZKSQwWknIQXmmzet2Jt/view?usp=sharing Logs.rar Oh and I'm on the latest version of beta
  18. They both have the R-863, R-828, the Jadro, and the ARCs behave the same
  19. Are you using the autopilot?
