1. Radar Radar units in appropriate vehicles need much better radar simulation
2. P-51 module locked up the A-10c I was flying Multiplayer, in the middle of a mission. I was flying an A-10c. The mission had NO P-51's for players to fly. (Yes, I do have the P-51 module.) The system locked up and, eventually ran out of memory. Be advised that I have 32GB of RAM. 3. For what it's worth, I am getting the crash too. I had thought it was a multi monitor issue but, alas, it is not. I'm not complaining, though. DCS is the greatest thing since the Wright brothers! Keep working on it ED. I'm happy with what I have so far but I'll name my first born child after you if you fix this bug!
4. Yep, it was me... Thanks Peter, for the help. But I have never had to edit the LUAs at all. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled just to make sure. Then I unset...... FULL SCREEN! I am such a dummy! I set up 3840, Camera + RMFCD (with full screen unchecked). I automatically get 3.5555 for an aspect ratio and everything is absolutely gorgeous. Of course, my second monitor is 1200 (not 1080) which gives me a bit of my desktop at the bottom of the RMFCD but I surely can live with that! Two full (almost) monitors straight from ED with an FPS at 45. I am a happy camper. Thanks again, Peter. .... Full screen, for crying out loud.........
5. I have two monitors on two GTX 680 in SLI,System RAM = 32 GB DDR3, running Win 7-64bit, TrackIR, TM Warthog HOTAS, etc. Set the screen size to 3840 in options of WORLD. GUI works fine but going to run a mission and DCS crashes back to the GUI. Reset screen size to 1920 and all works fine (and flies BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Thank you Sooooooooo much ED! Fires and explosions are awesome!) I'm happy (for now) flying 1920 but it seems to be a bug DCS is not handling so well. Cheers, guys! Mac
6. Man, you're going to do some damage to that bridge if you keep doing that!
7. Bridge over troubled airplane. Practice flying in a straight line in a 45 degree bank without dropping much altitude. Then try the same railroad bridge at a 45 degrees bank. I've seen an A-10 do it in FC2. But the flight model, then, was arcade-ish.
8. Climbing flat spin Pull full power hard into vertical by watching out the side of the cockpit. The horizon should be perpendicular to your plane. Climb for 3 to 4 seconds to insure you have enough altitude for the maneuver. A left snap roll takes advantage of the engine torque. Start your maneuver above 250 kias, kick full left rudder and full left aileron and full up elevator (hard rudder, and stick hard back and to the left). Wait until you feel the spin begin, quickly pull back the manifold only (RPMs full), neutral stick but keep the hard left rudder. You should be hanging upside down by this time. That's how I do it. Once you stop spinning, neutral rudder, wait until your nose drops, ease in the manifold (watch out for carb-cough) to full power, aileron to orient the way you want to go, and pull out of your dive. By the way, the reason I was having so much trouble on the ground was my joystick was in the process of dying. It is now completely in pieces. I have emailed Thrustmaster who asked for some photos of the mess. Hopefully, they will let me ship it to them for repair (at my expense since I broke it!) I don't think I will be flying this coming weekend. We'll see.
9. I just downloaded TeamSpeak onto my Samsung Galaxy S2 (a cellphone). It is simlistic but works. In case anyone wants to know, it's at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamspeak.ts&hl=en
10. Practicing at Gudauta (again) I don't know how long the YouTube audio will last but here is a video of my practice this weekend. Note: this is flying with DCS World 1.2. The flight model has been improved and, well, I'm a happy man!
11. Thanks, Rock. If I can catch your server up and you have a spare bird, I'd love to try some of your maneuvers with you! See ya in the skies!
12. I am currently listed, and log in, as 104th_Mac. However, I am no longer a member of the 104th Phoenix and I am sure they will be a bit upset that I am still using the tag. Is it possible for you guys to change my 104th_Mac to =Mac= Let me know. Thanks.
13. Skyhawk, that was beautiful. Too bad you V Horsemen are just three. I'd love to fly and learn with you guys. But, since I can't I am very very happy to just watch you and try to emulate your moves! Cheers
14. I've seen the Pitts Special do some really powerful things. Yeah, a Pitts would be great. Where would you put the 30mm GAU 8 on it? Radar would be cool, too. I was watching Bob Hoover's P-51 stuff as well as his beloved Aero Commander. Wouldn't the Aero be great in DCS just as a civvy? Heck, why can't we kick MSFSX off the Earth with DCS World! I sure hope ED will try it. They are the ones to do it! Ah well.... dreams. If you have ever watched Hoover's P-51 flights on YT, have you noticed that he never stays negative G for long? Can't do it in my P-51 either. "Motor need gas.":joystick:
15. Test post: YouTube video of a snap roll. Did it work? YES, I GOT IT! Thanks, guys!
16. I think it was a beautiful landing because it vividly shows the flight physics. As for the pylons, I thought I was going to get dizzy after the first couple of barrel rolls. Tighten your "coil" and you can get every pylon! The thing that hit me most was the graphics of the plane. Soooooooo danged realistic!
17. I guess that removes all doubt! Thanks Ali Fish. I did notice difficulties with tail slides and such. I am guessing the flight model can't deal much with negative air flow in its calculations. Or, I could just not be doing it right. (It's probably me: I'm lucky I know how light the afterburner...
18. Am I correct in that prop wash is NOT modeled? Will it be? I've been trying for a tail-slide but the nose drops way too quickly. No prop wash would account for that, I would imagine. Same for a Hammerhead. I've tried for a Lomcevak and I got close, but no cigar. Prop wash might help here, eh?
19. Bumper sticker on an old beat-up Honda Civic: "My other car is an F-15!"
20. @WildBillKelsoe, Sorry, but I have deleted the track. However, I did fly it again and made some different views for you. Thanks for the help with YouTube posts! I put in XXXXXXXwatch=tBn0YQCDdCo&XXXXXXX where the XXXXXX is the front and back of the YouTube brackets but it's not coming out right...
21. A climbing flat spin! I have no idea how to get the YouTube video here so I'll just add the link to it. It's short, but sweet, eh?
22. Crosswind on a horse! Crosswind landing at Tbilisi-Lochini. Yes, I know that it's a horrible approach, but I did land on the runway with both wings staying intact, all three wheels turning and no whip-lash! (I am no longer affiliated with the 104th. Can't change my user ID yet.)
23. This sure sounds like a good idea. I think it is definitely do'able. I'd love to fly an A-10c in a multi-sim event like this. (Side issue, OT: Cali, are you still in Bossier?)
24. Viper, these pics are great! Thank you very much for your work.
25. I am still having FC 2 crashes. I've completely changed the driver by running Phyxion.net's Driver Sweeper. I guarantee you, I have the latest and greatest WHDC certified nVidia driver verson 197.45 for Win7@32. It is definitely Simulator.exe that's crashing but the modules that cause the crash change. The last crash had nvlsp.dll locked up. I signed on multiplayer and ran in observer mode for over two hours. I followed, by F11 and mouse, an F-15 through an engagement. Then, CTD. There was no other input from me to cause this. I had TIR running as was X-52 but not actively getting input from me. Since so many people are running FC 2 with no issues, I am inclined to believe it is my LockOn install. I shall do a clean install, just to make sure. (If I can fly for two hours before I get a CTD, how can it be a bad install???) One detail I found, when CTD, the cursor fails to be painted in any other window except the error message. (Unless, that is, if the cursor goes to my second monitor. Then the cursor is fine.) That might help point out the problem.
