That's ace @Zabuzardalthough would that not negate the pluses of using DL over Laydown generally? I have been using DL in those situations where the targets are pop up and not known before hand. Would this work if you assumed the target is at 0 and so you add say 500ft to the target height? I might have missed it but my understanding was that the clusters on the F4 open after x seconds (4 I think) rather than a set height such as the A10/F18 etc. So I guess its a guess on top of a guess but I will give it a shot and see what happens. Thank you

Hi all, as the title suggests, can anyone recommend a good tutorial on using the DL bombing option, or alternatively give me some pointers. I have been through the manual but think I'm missing something? I get that you go through the options for speed, height etc on the bombing calculator and tell Jester. That you laze just like DT and you keep the pickle depressed while you fly the profile, but my results seem more miss than hit, especially with CBUs. Is there a min/optimum alt? Speed etc Thanks

So..... I have been experimenting with various aircraft landing on runways and doing both Navy and Air Force landing styles. While i can achieve both in nearly all aircraft, the hornet refuses to play. Is it possible to land a hornet gently? Or does the configuration of the landing gear make it always land fairly hard? I know this is a pointless question, I'm just intrigued.

Hey @draconusit feels like he talks less, it's been a progressive thing over a duration but the frequency of comments has reduced. As an example, every landing he used to say something, these days less so, maybe 20% there is no comment. I am aware i am in a minority but i quite like him calling things out during BFM, primarily speed calls but the occasional spot call has always been useful. The various Reflected campaigns have also shown where additional calls feel extra immersive, checklists, speed on take off and/or approach. Which way a bandit turns on the merge etc. I understand that some of these may not be practical outside a campaign format but in my mind the more of Jester the better.

Hey @IronMike, first and foremost I want to thank you and your team for the amazing work and development you and the team have made on both the Tomcat and Phantom. 99% of my dcs time is in one or the other and I have loved both from their releases. Now I know I'm in the minority here but I miss Jester. I find he talks progressives less, I know alot of people dislike his comments but I love them, makes me feel like I'm part of a crew. The new Mig Killers campaign has also helped show how him calling which way an opponent goes at the merge being super useful, likewise calling out the speed and descent rates in the speed and angels campaign. I understand it might not be practicable but could you add an option in the Jester wheel in addition to the silence Jester that makes him talk more like old Jester? I miss him, it feels like we have had an argument and he has the hump. Ta

Flew the F14 last night and this definitely changed how I fought, for a start I stayed 100knts too fast the entire time but definitely saw how the techniques learnt are going to stand in good sted.

Finished last night and wow!!!! It was awesome and lived up to the hype of being the best of zone 5 and speed and angels. Agree that the 2vUNK was the most fun and intense. The 4vUNK I felt like a bad ass! My skills and techniques have definitely been turned up a notch. My the final hop I even managed to get every switch of the landing checklist completed before being asked. Can see myself flying this one again and again.

I think part of it is a change in mentality on how the chinook flies compared to other things. The trim resets the angle of the rotor mast so it is not trim in the true sense. I have found after a little play I can get it trimmed out and hands off. At a certain speed I find I trim back, trim back, trim back until I get it on speed, any change in the collective changes it and you have to keep close eye on it. Then opposite in slowing down by trimming forward again and again and again.

Which trim switches are you using? At the moment you want the stand alone trim and trim reset buttons and ignore the specific forward back left and right ones as they are part of the system that isn't implemented yet. Press the trim and reset to centre like other helos. I'm finding as it speeds up you have to keep pulling back and retrieving, it is taking constant retrim but it does work. Also any shift in the collective will shift everything again. Lastly make sure you reset the trim on landing, otherwise it can go a bit crazy. Hope that helps.

Hi @Zabuzard I am up to date on the updates so it's the current version but I am checking before starting the left engine but after starting the right so maybe that's it (I do it after the spoiler check along with flaps, slats and airbrake) Will give it a try after both engines are running. @Rudel_chwit's only been when I do cold starts but I should note I haven't tried the check with a hot start.

Hi all, this is a bit of a weird one but on the ground the refuel door doesn't seem to open or close even though the switch is being clicked. As part of my checks I always open it but the crew chief didn't call it. I assumed it was a glitch as occasionally he misses calls such as the 'kick' one. But I went F2 and its not opening. I have done it three times on different missions and the same thing. It was working fine until relatively recently (last update). Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me going insane?

Does anyone know if this is fixed yet? If not I will give it a try tonight. Tried to find it elsewhere in the forums but failed. Edit: yes it's fixed.

Hi all, I wonder if someone can help as I've been through the manual and thought I understood but I don't. When finding a tanker via tacan we use the A/A TR but i can't seem to get it to work? I have tried both via Jester and on my tacan and I have tried adding/subtracting 63 from the channel value. I have tacan selected on the front dash also. What am I doing wrong?

@BIGNEWYwhat have you done to me! I used to be a normal person, I mean, I was never Brad Pitt cool, but i could hold my own in a room. You have got me almost giddy with delight with the new shockwave animations. I have just spent the last hour dropping different sized bombs in the jungles on Saipan, saying 'that's so cool!' With each impact. I haven't been this excited since heatblur updated their suspension animation..... I used to be cool! Damn you DCS!!! In all seriousness..... its SO COOL!!!! You don't know what you have missed till you get it and this latest update has me grinning from ear to ear. Thanks to you and the team.

Hi all, I was talking about asking Jester to do the 'assisted start' so he talks through the checklist as you go. Just for the immersion I like to do full cold and dark and its nice him calling out the actions but I don't want the above boxes to be present. Thanks all, sounds like the answer is I either do it with Jester being silent, or put up with the boxes. Ta

Thanks @MAXsennathat's a great thought. My main thing though is removing the 'hint boxes' over the switches. I like doing the full coldstart but don't need the boxes showing where the switches are. That is what i would like to know if there is a way to remove.
