Following up on Discord discussion. AV-8B AWLS does not function as intended afloat, no ability to tune Tarawa ICLS beacon for Localizer and Glideslope. No AWLS function ashore on NTTR, Syria or PG Maps - there was some functionality on Caucasus but not sure it still works there. Expected function would be accurate Localizer and Glideslope guidance for Ashore ILS\ICLS, as well as Afloat ICLS from CV\CVN\LHA. I am unable to save tracks for some reason but this appears to be a known issue based on comments from others in Discord. DISCO

Hi DDSTT, Materials are a low density foam core sandwiched between heavy Kraft paper skins, varying thicknesses depending on location. Cut from our computer design, painted, then fit check and shipped flat as a kit, assembled without electronics, or assembled and populated with Cougar MFD's and our universal UFC or universal ICP depending on whether it is a Hornet style 3-screen panel or Viper style 2-screen panel. The original QUICKPit design began in mid 2018 and the concept was to create a universally applicable desktop simpit that I could easily adapt for use with essentially any of the then available study-level\fully clickable aircraft in DCS (e.g., Hornet, Harrier, Warthog, Tiger II). Primary concerns were centered around ensuring a lightweight and small easy-to-store size since I did not at the time have the room to build a full scale simpit but I still wanted great immersion. I sketched out a basic concept and made a simple 2-screen version out of scrap materials I had. I shared some photos with friends and several of the guys were very supportive saying they wanted to do something similar but didn’t have the design or fabrication ability but would consider buying something if it was easy to assemble, could be stowed intact, and was easily modified or configured and that is where the QUICKPit really started. Simply put, the intent became to provide a lightweight, modular and configurable desktop simpit environment where sim pilots can place cockpit interfaces like MFD buttons and other controls correctly in 3D space for maximum immersion and serious fun, whether flying with a flat display, with head tracking like TrackIR, or even in Virtual Reality. After I crafted the initial hand-made prototype, it was used for 6 months across multiple aircraft types in both DCS World and Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3D to ensure it could meet the demands of regular setup and storage as well as normal use when flying the sim. Once basic design and durability were proven the design was improved to make it easy to assemble if shipped in kit form. This included drafting the parts and assembly in the computer to include wire routing paths as well as parts location features so it would be easy to produce and assemble. While the Thrustmaster Cougar MFD bezels were readily available and easy to source, the need for a universal up-front controller proved initially to be problematic until I was able to source an affordable and programmable USB keypad with a form-factor that could roughly replicate either the Hornet\Harrier UFC or the ICP for the upcoming F-16C. I now call this the Universal Up Front Controller (U-UFC) or Universal Integrated Control Panel (U-ICP) depending on use case. I have the base extended keyboard macro programming setup for the keypad itself as well as DCS control profiles for several different aircraft that can be shared as a starting point for other users. With space for 3 MFD bezels and the large universal UFC or the pilot's choice of UFC (Tek Creations, etc.), the 3-Screen QUICKPit is now perfectly suited for the F\A-18C, JF-17, the upcoming Eurofighter, Strike Eagle and Super Tucano, as well as most other 2 or 3 screen cockpits such as AV-8B, A-10C, F-15C. When the F-16C was released it became clear that a slightly smaller 2-screen QUICKPit could be designed that more closely matches the layout of the displays as well as the U-ICP or other ICP and that is now an offering as well. As of June 2020 I have about a year using this setup on a near daily basis. It has been stowed and setup more than 500 times and is showing no real wear. Current offerings are found in our Combat Series Collection, namely the StrikeFighter 2-Screen ‘Viper’ style, and the StrikeFighter 3-Screen “Hornet’ style QUICKPit. The QUICKPit can be delivered in an unassembled kit version, an assembled version that sim pilots can add their own accessories to, or as a fully assembled and populated version equipped with our Universal UFC\ICP, 2 or 3 MFD’s, and powered USB hub, all tested prior to shipping. Near-term future design plans include modular add-on wing panels for the left and right side to incorporate landing gear, jettison, hook and wing fold controls.
