Turning on Shkval on the Su-25T really kills my framerate, especially when looking down at ground objects. I'm currently running patch 1.2.3 but this issue was also present on older patches. Cockpit display resolution is set to the lowest setting (256). My GPU is a Radeon HD5750 and I have the latest Catalyst drivers installed.

Any solution for this crash? The multiplayer is unplayable at the moment because of it.

It happens when I attempt to join a multiplayer server. After the mission loads the game freezes and crashes to desktop. That's true, but 800 € is way over my budget, I'm aiming for something around 700 € at max. Acer Aspire V3-571G (the Core i5, GT 630M variant) has decent performance and can be found for less than 600 € here in Bulgaria. (not to mention it looks pretty nice :P)

As much as I would love to get a new desktop computer I need something that I can easily carry around. :(

I know that laptop GPUs are not good for gaming in general so I don't have my hopes high. :D Looking at the prices a GT 640M is about as high as I can go, the 650 and 660 models are too expensive for me. From what I read on different hardware forums most current games run fine on dual core CPUs, will a quad core one be an overkill for DCS World?

I am thinking about buying a laptop with a GT 630M graphics card, as it is a decent and affordable laptop GPU and I was wondering if it would be able to run DCS World. The other laptop components will probably be a dual core i5 or a quad core i7 and 6 or 8 gigs of ram (depending on my financial situation at the time I buy the laptop). My current desktop setup has a 8800GTS (the older 320MB model), 2 gigs of RAM, Intel C2D E6750 processor and I am experiencing stutter even at lower settings. Is there anyone around here that runs DCS World on a laptop and could shed some light on the subject?

How many Vikhrs missiles does it take to kill an SA-13 in BS1? Today in multiplayer I fired two at one without it taking any damage whatsoever.

I don't know what ED's plans for FC3 are but I think it would be nice to see a modern Russian fighter in LockOn, maybe a MiG-29SMT or a Su-27SM. Putting up the basic MiG-29A/Su-27S against the F-15C, even though the latter is undermodeled , is still not a fair match-up (this coming from an eagle pilot). Including a new Russian fighter will make the multiplayer much more interesting and would force players to develop new strategies. As far as the concerns that avionics are not going to be accurate - there are already plenty of holes in the sim filled in with imagination and some of them were discussed in the posts above mine. Just my two cents on what I personally think would make this sim even better. Sorry if I veered too off topic.

With F-16 avionics. That's not exactly my idea of a good F-18 sim. Falcon is and will be an F-16 simulator, no matter how many different cockpits they put in, the avionics are still going to be the same across all planes.

The F-35 in my opinion is somewhat an overkill at the moment. Sure it has unmatched capabilities like superiour avionics and stealth, but do we really need them? Why spend 160 million USD on something you don't actually need (especially considering the current economic instability)?

When you lock up a target in multiplayer and switch to guns your gun piper begins jumping all over the HUD making it almost impossible to aim. I know this is probably lag related but is it possible to improve it in some way? Target tracking is rock solid, it's just the piper that's causing issues.

Not exactly an outstanding major bug but on the F-15's radar jamming sources sometimes overlap normal contacts and it's pretty hard to lock them up.

I am really confused as to how a Mig-29 already hit by an AIM-120 dodges a second amraam fired in the NEZ by "teleporting" 1-1.5km forward. Was it some very lucky lag spike or possibly a cheat? Are there FC2 cheats? Some things in the multiplayer really puzzle me and I am trying to find a reasonable explanation.

Yes, it is the right one. After I get shot down by that Buk I respawn and take off again. That's when the engagement happens. Thx for the info RIPTIDE.

That's my first death and there was a launch warning, I was just afk talking on my phone. Couldn't do anything about it :D The second one which is the engagement with the eagle is around 17:00.
