  1. Got stuck on that too. Redid the align and all was well. Didn't touch anything else controls wise. I had reset the tacan on first try and I think that knocked it out!

    Trees

I have since checked out images of Ramon and there are no trees growing in the areas on the airfield as I thought there should not be. Although they look good, would you please correct this and on the other bases? Many thanks Lee

    Trees

Hi Guys. Thanks for a wonderful terrain. I look forward to its development. There is a problem, I don't know if its throughout or just Ramon, but I taxied into a HAS and there was a tree growing through it! There are trees all over the place in what I would have thought would be a clear zone for flight safety purpose as on British airfields. I'm not familiar with any Israeli ones so I don't know if they have trees growing on them. Rgds Lee
  4. Don't know if it's relevant, but I had problems dropping CCRP bombs in level flight. I notice that the release angle is 45 degrees on your SMS. I had the same and bombs wouldn't go, I changed it to 0 from 45 and bombs left the aircraft. I'm sure it's a bug as I thought that setting was for lofting. Rgds

  7. I got error too. Just installed SUFA via OvGME and I thought I'd broken it! Clearly site must be down as I tried to run the stable version and I got a WEBSITE DOWN message.
  8. Birdstrike. Used to happen quite often in the A10 until I disabled birds. No more random engine fires and failures.
  9. Thanks very much!
  10. I was reading an F16 combat book and read that the guy put a mark point on the end of a runway at an airfield with no approach aids and proceeded to fly a false ILS approach from it using the aircraft systems to simulate the G/S and C/L. Can we do that in DCS please? Thanks

    Al Raqqa

I'm sure I've asked before but search can't find it so apologies in advance. I have previously had the Al Raqqa campaign installed but couldn't get it to work properly so uninstalled it. Trying again and I've tried all the "usual suspects" locations to put the file into and none of them show up on either my campaigns or mission pages. Please can someone remind me where to put the file for the campaign? I've got all the additional packs installed ok. TIA
  12. Yes thanks, I contacted them and they are very helpful. Was hoping to get one from a UK source to avoid expensive shipping and customs fees.
  13. Looked there, thanks. Very expensive and website says out of stock. Thanks again.
  14. Thanks, already looked there. Most of those on Amazon are TrackNP whick seem to be a cheap Chinese knockoff and the genuine ones are out of stock. The e bay ones that are genuine are WAAAAYYYY overpriced or shipped from the US with about £55 put on top for "extra costs". Thanks for trying Many thanks, I'll look at those.
  15. Hi Folks. I'm having trouble sourcing a genuine Natural Point TrackIR 5. All sources seem to be outof stock. Searching for TrackIR I get plenty of TrackNP which all seem to ship from China and are a lot cheaper. Can anyone suggest an equivalent that is as good please? Quite prepared to wait for the real thing if no equivalent is out there. Thanks in advance.
  16. Thanks
  17. Hi Folks. Does TrackIR work on F16 please. I ask because it isn't on the list of DCS aircraft so enhanced on their website. Several are and there's no point buying one if the F16 doesn't. Thanks in advance.
  18. As with SAMs, once the motor burns out, the missile is essentially a guided glider. Manoevering in the vertical and horizontal will cause it to lose energy because it will need to deflect control surfaces to follow you.
  19. Looks like I'm buying a TrackIR then. Thanks for the help
  20. Thanks Lange, Would it clip onto my headset? I always use one to save my long suffering lady from all the bangs and whooshes etc. Don't fancy, or even own, a baseball cap.
  21. Hi Guys, I've got to the stage where I don't want to have to rely on a jostick button to look around. Is TrackIR worth the money and easy to use please. Pros and Cons? Thanks in advance
  22. Simply, yes. Don't know about AK47 shooting one down, this was a Shilka that caught me sneaking round the side of a Hill. Tons of airframe damage, one engine and no gear. I still walked away from the wheels up landing.
  23. Manoever is always a good way to deplete a SAM's ebergy. Once the motor has burned our, every deflection of the control surfaces to follow you bleeds energy. Up, down, left, right all cause energy loss. I have defeated SAMs this way on many occasion. Once your airspeed is more than theirs, job done. AS has been said, no good for really close ones though but staying just inside their envelope and tempting them to shoot at you until they are out of missiles is a good SEAD or even DEAD trick. There is a very good tutorial on this by either Growling Sidewinder or Spudknocker IIRC.
  24. Use the boresight cross to get the AOA (point it at the required place on the pitch ladder), get the flightpath marker in the middle of the staple (will give a slower speed) and adjust rate of descent with small throttle movements, not the stick. 2.5 degree marker on the end of the runway should put the flightpath marker on the threashold and hold that til touchdown. Close throttle and aerobrake until the nose drops then full airbrakes and wheelbrake as required. Shouldn't be a problem with enough practice. I found it incredibly hard until I got used to getting the FPM and staple correct and unbelievably counter intuitive to add throttle to lower rate of descent. Once that was mastered, it became very easy to put it down exactly where I want. Best of luck with this fantasic module.
  25. Hear that often from the F15s going over my house on the way into Lakenheath. The sound you describe is very much like the actuation motors for nozzles, airbrakes etc.
