  1. Thanks, I'll try that.
  2. I've downloaded and installed (I believe in the right place but maybe someone will help here) the NTTR missions and targets by STUKA, 476 vFG - Air Weapons Range Objects, 14NOV19. The missions come up OK so I figure I have those in the right place (in the saved games under USERS). I followed the architecture in the download and put the AWR Objects folder in the MODS folder by following the same sequence as in the download file, ie 476 vFG - Air Weapons Range Objects, 14NOV19, Mods, tech, then 476RangeTargets and put that in the tech folder of my main installation. When I load the game now I get a message saying that the 476RangeTargets is not authorised and will be disabled. Do I need to break it down further and put individual bits in different folders? Can someone please advise me what I have done wrong and how to correct this? I will admit to being a whiz with stuff on all the iterations of Microsoft Flight Sim and frequently helped people on that but I'm very new to the DCS world and really don't have a clue on where to put things in here. The only things I have managed to install are those I have bought and installed with the modules manager! I've tried the Forums on the Sqn website but aparantly my login hasn't been activated yet and I'm not authorised to look at anything when I log in, not even the public stuff I can see without logging in. Thanks
  3. Thanks. Got both of those. I'm very new to all of this and not added scenery other than that I've bought and installed via the auto installer. Please can someone tell me where all the individual bits go? Thanks and regards Lee
  4. Thanks, I'll have a look for that. Regards
  5. Is there a bombing range scenery available anywhere where I can just go and practice without getting shot at? I don't have the skills to go make one myself. Thanks
  6. Anyone having problems with the X56? I like it, very functional EXCEPT :- Switch 5 stopped working within the first week, not a big deal, plenty more switches. However, this evening between flights, the button "C" switch (the mini joystick on the stick) has started to just "run away" with itself. Depending what is set as SOI. the HUD square just flies up to the top of the HUD and stays there. If I move it elsewhere it just pops back there. If TGP is selected it does the same and it will not lock on anything either, just wanders off on its own. I have contacted Logitech for a replacement but their website says "sold out" when I just looked so not much hope there. Does anyone have a similar experience please and how did you solve it.
  7. All sorted now thanks for the help and advice. I was clearly missing a step although can't put my finger on which one. Probably not making MAv page SOI. It all works as advertised now.
  8. No, deffo live rounds, 65Ds
  9. ZIptie, Yes. I'm sure that's what I'm doing. Will have another go and see.
  10. Haven't noticed the problem. I'm using an X56 Hotas. Set pitch at Vr and it will just fly off a few knots later. Maybe I'm just lucky but then I haven't flown anything else in DCS to compare with.
  11. Nope. Mav cross hairs slave to TGP but still launch inhibit. Doesn't inhibit when I do it manually. Will keep trying. Gonna have a look at it in Open Beta see if it works there.
  12. Yup, that was the problem. Fixed now thanks.
  13. TAZ, that's most likely the cause!!
  14. Thanks Ziptie, much apprciated. Thanks to everyone else who has helped. Will try in the morning.
  15. Thanks, I'll make sure thats what I do and report back.
  16. Thanks guys, I'll look out for that and see what I can do to rctify this. Thanks for the explanations. Just got Chuck's guide and working through it. Normally search for a vido tutorial but haven't seen one on this yet. Thanks again Lee
  17. It is excllent as always. I used them on all the ones I could when I was flying P3D. Usually explains things in more depth and in a clearer manner than the user manual.
  18. Hi Guys. Now, please, before all the RTFI posts that may be in the pipeline, I HAVE RTFI and can't find the answer. I may have missed it, I may not have understood it, but i HAVE read it so please bear with my ignorance. When using laser guidence for the rockets and bombs, I frequently Get a "B" or "P" symbol where the "L" should be and nothing guides with both IPKWS rockets and LGBs just going ballistic. Haven't used Laser Mavs yet so can't say about that. The first couple of rockets work as advertised and then it seems to go wrong. I only leave the laser onwhen needed (ie point, launch, wait, terminal guide) on rockets and illuminate an LGB target for about ten seconds. Using F6 it's obvious when they start guiding. I know the laser will stop functioning if over used but after I have taken it from saf to on I only fire it when I want to guide/ Have I missed something here? Thanks Lee
  19. Whenever I use Maverick in the "slave to TGP" function I get a launch inhibit, no tracking solution message on the MAV MFD. Doesn't happen when I drive the MAV cursor to SPI I made and launch. Any ideas please? Thanks Lee
  20. Razor, "Absolutely true. This is why there is a Vr (rotation speed) and then the V2 (lift-off speed) some 5-10 knots later. At Vr you are still pretty much at or below stall speed..." V — From the French word vitesse, meaning “speed.” V1 — Maximum speed in the takeoff at which the pilot must take the first action (e.g., apply brakes, reduce thrust, deploy speedbrakes) to stop the airplane within the accelerate-stop distance. V1 also means the minimum speed in the takeoff, following a failure of the critical engine at VEF, at which the pilot can continue the takeoff and achieve the required height above the surface within the takeoff distance. V2 — Takeoff safety speed for jets, turboprops or transport-category aircraft. Best climb gradient speed (i.e., best altitude increase per mile with the most critical engine inop). Twin-engine aircraft with an engine inop are guaranteed a 2.4 percent climb gradient (24 feet up per 1,000 feet forward). Minimum speed to be maintained to at least 400 feet agl.

    Best Module.

Thanks folks, some food for thought there.

    Best Module.

Hi. Looking to buy my next module. Which is the most complete functionally please, the Bug or the Viper? Thanks and regards Lee
  23. HAve the same problem with JDAMs on mine. I can see AI JDAMs flying for miles but mine don't seem to want to release until almost on the target, a bit like a CCRP dumb bomb. LGBs do the same too, they don't seem to want to fly far. MAybe it's something to do with M0.75 they like to get to to glide.
  24. Disregard.
  25. Got myself one of these over the Warthog (which I would dearly love) for logistical reasons, ie won't fit on my desk, too big too heavy and no twist rudder. HAs anyone found a use for the rotary knobs or the mini joystick on the throttle? Thanks Lee
