  1. I had the same problem, random micro stutters even when frame rates were green and stable in both ST and MT. On some advice I turned HAGS on for the first time. Micro stutters completely disapeared and everything generally more stable. Worth a try though doesn't seem to work for everyone and may just be an AMD or WMR thing.
  2. Thanks for this post mate. I've just returned to DCS after a long absence (Since last September so literally just updated from the last 2.7 version this week !). I was getting a lot of micro-stutters in ST and reprojection was terrible in MT, even when the FPS counter was showing stable locked 45 or 30 FPS. I tried your suggestion and turned HAGS on for the first time ever (We were always previously advised to leave it off). Both ST and MT are immediately smooth as silk with reprojection on. I'm also convinced I'm getting better performance in DCS generally. If others are not seeing the benefit I wonder if it's an AMD thing.
  3. No kiddin' ! Just managed to skewer myself and the co-pilot with a rotablade like a freekin' kebab
  4. Well, you seem to have inspired me. Had a couple of hours free so installed Visual Studio 2022 Community Edition, opened KBQuick version 2.0 in it, changed its target .net version to 6.0, built and published it. Ported it to my other PC, ran it and it requested the .net 6.0 runtime download for that machine. Installed that and presto..it works perfectly. So thanks for the prompt. I won't bother updating version 1, but version 2 will be .net 6.0..when I've finished testing it.
  5. It doesn't work like that. It won't automatically import all the .png kneeboards you already have in your saved games kneeboard folder. It will only manage the kneeboards you create or individually import in KBQuick and then selectively publish them into your chosen kneeboard folders. The actual KBQuick kneeboards are held as rich text files in the KBQuickFiles folder in Documents. Try this. Move Russian Airfields.png out of your kneeboard folder into downloads or some other folder. Use "new" in KBQuick to create a new kneeboard and name it Russian Airfileds or whatever. Now click "import" and browse to the original png and import it and click save. That kneeboard is now in the KBQuick database (saved only in the KBQuickFiles folder). You can now select it's target kneeboard folder and when you click the box in the "KB" column a copy of it will be published to that kneeboard folder. Click that again and it will be removed. In version 1, that is the only way to import all of your existing kneeboards into KBQuick.
  6. Yeah, on my list of things to do but I have limited time and developed the app on VS 2019 community edition which only suppoprt to .net 5. I haven't done any research so not sure how easy it will be to do. Maybe just need to upgrade to VS 2022 community edition and rebuild it there ? If you or anyone has any idea how to do this easily I'll have a go when I get the time. I actually have had version 2.0 of the app pretty much ready to go for a while now too. It has lots of new features including bulk kneeboard image import, multi snip! page import, PDF page selection and import, terrain map kneeboard folder management, kneeboard groups and a reworked interface. All done in .net 5 though. time, time, time
  7. I also only fly in VR (5900x/3090/G2) I'm flying this campaign at the moment and it's awesome in VR ! I'd flown Guam many times before, but Anderson, fully stocked and functioning, and in the right lighting is a sight to behold. Must admit, I'm still on 2.7.18.30765 as I love flat shadows on and don't see any milage in upgrading to 2.8 yet. So I'm flying OpenXR/Open Composite, WMR render scale at 120%, no OXRTK FSR or NIS oversampling (just a tad of sharpening), pretty much all DCS settings high and MSAA x2. In the campaign, which has pretty intense weather and plenty of AI I'm getting locked 30FPS with motion reprojection, which for me in the Huey is indistinguishable from locked 45. I'm sure with your rig you'll be fine. ..so long as your idea of fun is trying to land your heavily overladen Huey with a couple of wingman Hueys, in a tiny jungle LZ on a slope, in semi-darkness and under fire from 3 sides
  8. I'm actually still using XRNecksafer Beta3, which doesn't have an installer, just runs from wherever you put it and has a .cfg file in that folder. You could try asking the developer on t'other sim forum.. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/67985-simple-tool-to-check-your-six Would you happen to have Windows display scale set particul;arly high ? like > 170% That can seriously shrink an app's gui unless the developer has coded for it.

  10. Thanks for investigating. Must be my set up then. I've tried it on Caucasus, PG and Marianas and I always get the same results. It's a weird one. I am using 2.7.18 client and server though, maybe it resolves with 2.8 ? Anyway, I'm using parking hot now so not a problem Thanks agaun
  11. @Flappie, don't waste your time investigating this. I've just discovered that wingmen behave correctly in MP if I use GROUND hot rather than parking hot.
  12. Thank you @Flappie .miz file attached, simple pickup from hot parking at Batumi with 1 wingman. Also .trk files attached from SP and MP client tests this morning. Please note however, that I'm still running the last 2.7..18 beta, both on my client and dedicated server (Can't take the 2.8 flat shadows FPS loss in VR) Wingman follws in SP but shuts down in MP Huey Wingman won't Play.miz Huey Wingman won't Play - SP.trk Huey Wingman won't Play-MP Client.trk EDIT: I've just found a way to make this work in Multiplayer.. If I set the advanced server option "Resume Manual", so that the mission starts paused, join the mission, and only then "resume" the mission on the server, the Huey wingman behaves correctly and follows me. So maybe there's some sort of start timing issue with Huey AI wingmen in MP ?
  13. I'm sure I must be missing something here. I create any simple mission, any terrain, one client Huey with 2 AI veteran wingmen, parking hot or runway takeoff. Works great in SP, wingmen takeoff and follow me. I then Run the mission on a dedicated server on my second PC , join the MP server as client, I take off and both wingmen both shut down their engines. Only get this problem with Hueys, all other airframes work as expected. Any advice much appreciated
  14. Looks like mine auto-updated on 20th August.. ..not sure I've noticed any difference. I also note that Norbert has released an update to Necksafer which now has a pitch axis and claims to also fix the translation when rotated issue Haven't had a chance to test it yet https://gitlab.com/NobiWan/xrnecksafer
  15. I have just published version 1.1 in User Files. This addresses an issue in which the F10 Radio Transmission commands were not being created in some complex multiplayer missions Thanks @RayBurge for bringing this to my attention
  16. As stated in the posts above, you need to install the "Desktop" runtime.
  17. Ouch, now this is why I retired early for that evil American corporate. Ah for the days when program changes were written on the back of beer mats over a few jars in a smokey pub, then banged into production without all that pesky user testing and business signoff It's really nice to hear you're enjoying the app and your findings are much appreciated and duly noted. Makes it all worthwhile. I promise I will revisit but just now, it's gonna be 24 degrees today and the golf course beckons again (and that's in the non-virtual version of reality) If you get bored with it, please give my Radio KAOS app a whirl for fun. I'm sure it's laden with juicy bugs for you.
  18. Of course, you can always just use the playlist generator part of my app to create multiple transmission files from your tracks and then use the mission editor to insert them into as many different radio transmission triggers as you want, though I think you may have already worked that out Have fun.
  19. The app is not designed to create and manage multiple radio stations. You can certainly use the mission editor to create as many seperate concurrent radio transmissions as you like, as you've described above, there's no such DCS limitation, but my app won't be aware of them and so cannot be used to assign playlist files to them
  20. I’m with you there brother. Haven’t flown 2D once since my G2 arrived 18 months ago
  21. I will fire my entire QA team immediately I can recreate 1, fair enough, easy fix. 2 is weird, not previously reported, and I can't recreate, so kudos there. The message and program termination is expected behaviour (my lazy coding) but that path should only be possible if you selected a folder not called 'Kneeboard". I can only assume a cosmic ray flipped a bit in your installation I have been meaning to revisit the app (just noticed it's hit 1000 downloads) as I've some ideas for enhancements - PDF import/management, kneeboard grouping, map specific kneeboard assignment/management etc but the weather's way too nice at the moment. Glad you got it working anyway. Try not to break anything else
  22. There's your problem, you should also see an entry like this.. Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App 5.0.7 [C:\PROGRAM FILES\DOTNET\shared\Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App] You only have the .NET 5.0 core runtime. You're missing the .NET 5.0 desktop runtime. Not sure how that would happen. Must relate to what you chose to install when prompted. Go to the official Microsoft .NET 5 download page : https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/5.0 Install the .NET Desktop Runtime from that page. (The x64 version if you have 64 bit windows, x86 if you have 32 bit windows) reboot and you should be good to go
  23. KB Quick is a Microsoft Visual Studio .NET application. As such it requires the Microsoft .NET framework installed on your machine in order to run. The message you're seeing is being generated by Microsoft rather than my app. Can I ask, which version of .NET did you select to be installed ? The app requires a minimum of .NET 5.0. I believe it will now recommend .NET 6.0 which is also fine. ..you can check to see which versions are installed by opening a Windows PowerShell and entering the command dotnet --list-runtimes <enter>
  24. ..talking about mini trackballs, got mine hot-glued to the top right of my stick. Not the prettiest solution but just a blob of hot glue gives a rock solid bond in seconds and doesn't leave a mark on the steel throttle when removed. It's a short reach from stick grip to trackball grip, thumb works the ball and scroll wheel, left/right buttons are finger triggers on the front top of the trackball device . Works really well for me in VR.
  25. Maybe not. I had a Logitech MX Air Mouse back around 2008 (before they inexplicably discontinued it). It worked great anywhere in mid air and was really accurate so you'd hope this would be using similar gyroscopic/accelerometer technology rather than surface tracking. These seem to have been around since 2015 though, so quite surprised this is the first we've seen of it here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2C-43bKjnUI Looking forward to the review
