  1. Mission making is a drag especially with some of the little quirks still present in the editor. I woudn't want a replica of F4 but some Dynamics and a robust mission generator that includes more than A-A would be nice!!
  2. I have some Mega-city terrains for MSFS 2K4, they look very simuliar and include textured 3d objects Plus you can fly over them!
  3. If it was a SIM about flak guns and it had a gizillion buttons to press, then yeah I would play it :wink: The graphics in F4 are serviceable to me. My gripe would be that they do not look as good as what is already out there for the Falcon engine. Looking at projects such as the Angolian theater with close to photo real terrain, or Free Falcon which has some pretty decent effects, its abit of a let down. I hope LP is going to improve this area next, but If not I'm sure someone will :cool:
  4. I think ED Could take a page from Falcons book, I mean here we are 7 years later and its still going! And its mainly due to the dynamic campaign. Lomac is a great looking sim but its missing personality. As said before adding civilian traffic and/or busy airfields would bring a little more to the table. I would never want a carbon copy but I would like to see some gameplay improvments before more aircraft are added, IMHO of course. BTW: does anyone remember how perfect F4 ran after its intial release :eek: it took how many years to get it stable...lol
  5. I can't understand this either! Why encrypt the skins and tiles? I can't even remember flying F4 without HRenners skins and TomW's Hi-tiles. I wonder if it has to do with payware?

  8. I gave up on the log book a long time ago. Seems silly to have to keep creating new pilots everytime you die, or even having to go into the config file to 'resurrect one'. It would be better if they just put a stat on the log page "YOU HAVE DIED 100 TIMES" in big red letters to remind you that your not perfect. I mean C'mon its just a simulator/game.

  11. Wow 'When Hogs fly' was my favorite campaign!!! So while I got you in this thread THANKS!!! As for me I like to fly with realistic settings, the problem is the single player part of this game falls terribly short of what it could be. In most offline campaigns the missions feel more like a game then a military action and when you fail because you forgot to kill a gnat on the ass of a donkey and have to do it over again even though you lived, quite frankly sucks! It then becomes a game of memory skills. Also alot of missions/campaigns give you just enough weapons to take out an ungodly amount of targets, in almost all of them you fail the first try and well you know....For me this just kills the immersion and I usually scrap it. I already gave up on the 'Flaming Cliffs' campaign not so much because it was hard, but because it just got annoying! Too me 'When Hogs fly' was a good difficulty level and had just the right amount of realism, I flew the entire campaign on Full real and only died when I did something really stupid, not because I didn't kill every thing in just the right order.

  13. I've been messing about with the editor alot more recently and even started building a campaign! And there are some interface questions I have been meaning to ask 1) This has always annoyed more than anything and I know its gotta be something dumb I'm not doing! When you place a group of units on the map and set them up in a custom formation, how do I keep them from resetting everytime I select the group from the drop down menu??? This is now driving me nuts!!!!!!! :rolleyes: 2) Is there a way to preview the units on the map without having to go in the game back out make adjustments then back in?? This is especially frustrating with the new building objects as the facings are angled and the size is larger then they appear on the counter. 3) How do you place trains? They are listed in the encyclpedia but are not availible in the editor. 4) I created a mission with a AN-26 landing, after it landed it just sat on the runway right there in the middle!! I have other AC placed as objects in some of the parking areas are these what prevent it from taxiing off the runway? or does this happen with all the AI AC that land? Funny thing with this is my wingman landed and crashed right into it! like he couldn't see a An-26 sitting in the middle of the runway...dumbass. Any help would be apprieciated, thanks :)
  14. I tried VapoRs advice and borrowed a 9800pro Made by ATI, and I was picking up target 'dots' from 18km out. Is anyone else with a Sapphire card having view problems? Once again the units are not hard to see they are invisible till I get within 2-4km, with the card change the units are hard to see but they are at least visable from 18km.
  15. Guys I know what your'e saying about distance, camo...etc. I know snow is not the best example, but the 'dots' are popping up at 2-4km ie; they are invisible till then! As I get within range they just appear. Another example, I was being fired at from a Shilka, I could see tracers all the way to the point of origin but NO Shilka I knew where to look, I zoomed in all the way, It popped up at 2-4km out of thin air. Its like the view distance on vehicles isn't triggering till the last second.
  16. I'm having trouble seeing ground targets, this is pretty close and their are 6 vehicles in this field. I've tried many settings this is Med@1024X768.   17. This has me puzzled as well, modeling a problem without a proper soloution? If its a feature then please make the HSI adjustable. Although one way around it is switching to weapons mode then back to Nav, it resets on course to WP 1.
