I just did a quick setup of a flight from Ramstein ETAR to Frankfurt-Hahn EDFH.

I could input the SID from Ramstein and route waypoints I found on the charts in my Navigraph app, but there wasn't any STAR's at Hahn.

They didn't seem to include airways, so I had to add the whole fix list manually. But you probably could use Simbrief for quick routes from the little I've seen so far.

GBU15 is coming with the DMAS. The AGM78 was never in use by the USAF on the F4E, but I believe I read that if they can get documentation on how it worked on the Phantom we might get it, since the Israelis used it.

There is also an AIM4 in the game files. If a worse A2A missile is something you are wishing for.

Some of the screenshots we've seen so far have been from outside the blurb on the orbx website, so it might be how that part of the maps looks now.

Halkavarre is the one the air force uses. Setermoen is army only. Except maybe the Bell gunships. Halkavarre is a short flight from Banak ENNA. But doable from Bodø ENBO also.

But the valleys around Setermoen offers some fun flying.

Just came to request this. I fully agree, we just need a very basic terrain representation of the terrain south of Afghanistan so we can access the ocean for carrier ops.

From what I've read from the Norwegian Starfighter operations the catamaran launchers were Mach 2 capable, while the wing pylons maxed you at Mach 1.6. And therefor the preferred way to carry the Sidewinders. At least on the QRA aircrafts.

I believe all (Nato at least) users did have the catamaran launchers.

I love the G version, and nothing would make me happier, but I wouldn't mind a F-104S or ASA/M with the Sparrows either.

[F-4E INS alignment duration + nav system question]

I've only worked with F-16's IRL, but I believe it's mostly similar in the F-4, but when the jets are on QRA duy they "pre align" the jets, so when they scramble it only has to spin up and be confirmed. This of course has to be done again if it's moved or have been stationary for so and so long.

Not sure if it's a difference between analogue and digital BIT, but I am pretty sure the speed brake is not opened by the BIT. But the pilots does a manual cycle of the speed brakes during the startup process. Just before the SEC check if I remember correctly.

We had a specially painted SUU-20 pod up in Bodø while I was serving as an F16-groundie here in Norway. I've asked some of those I know that still serve about pictures of it so that I hopefully can get someone to make a skin for it.

When was this? Never saw that one. The SUU20 was out of service when I was working up there.

In the Norwegian air force. For ground ops the lights are steady when it's safe for ground personnel to approach the aircraft, flashing when it's unsafe.

Back in the days, ie. until around 2000 the Norwegian F-16s practiced short field ops every year. Usually from Stokmarknes, Skagen airport in Lofoten. Runway length just under 900m. The only other regular traffic was Twin Otters and GA. Loudouts needless to say was light, usually just the centerline tank and a pair of sidewinders I believe.

Would be nice to have a fictional 334 sqn RNoAF. They also focused on anti-ship. And the Viggen was for a short while one of the contenders as a new fighter for Norway, but we went for the F-16.
