  1. $1 = £1 for sure, then that price will be converted into Aus with a little extra no doubt, the joys... ;)
  2. Not sure how true this is, but it's looking like the Vive will cost more than the rift by about $200. http://uk.ign.com/articles/2016/02/21/htc-vive-price-and-release-date-leaked
  3. While I agree that somebody will always be disappointed, I think the F-16 is popular enough that we'll see multiple versions released down the line. Personally I'd buy them all...
  4. Well it wouldn't necessarily have to have one, I just meant a full DCS level Russian aircraft in general. An SU-34 would be a nice candidate however.
  5. No wonder I couldn't find it, I presume the base version of DCS will be updated with it soon?
  6. Keep on at Pmam in the relevant thread and we may one day see a Buccaneer. It would be a pretty perfect aircraft for DCS given it's low flying characteristics, great fun and very capable!
  7. Well to your first point, you don't have to buy it, money saved on your part so congratulations. For the second part, why is it rude? If other sims have made it so well already, they have nothing to fear from competition. Eagle Dynamics on the other hand should (and presumably are) be striving to make every DCS module the absolute best representation available to the public, regardless of whether other sims have made that aircraft or not. It doesn't matter how good BMS may have modeled the F-16, that is no reason for ED not to try and better it further and offer it to is in our sim of choice. Like it or not, the Falcon is a very popular jet, the demand is not going away... ever. I do suspect (pure speculation) that ED is reserving it along with a few others maybe given none of the third parties have pounced on it. And that's fine by me as it means we'll likely have a superb F-16 in DCS down the line whether it be an C, MLU or even a Sufa, I'll be happy with any and all. For now however I am excited for the F-18, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see an F-16 and a Russian jet announced after the Hornet is ready.

    Harrier poll

Well, regardless of the vote, it looks like we aren't getting the GR7/9, not initially at least as this was just posted to facebook. "Some bad news depending which side of the fence you´re.. Gents: As many of you are aware, i started a Harrier poll at Eagle´s DCS forums trying to decipher what the community was after "harrier wise", not surprisingly the Gr7/GR9 version was the absolute winner. BUT, we stumbled into a brick wall, a wall that might put the Gr7/Gr9 at least 2 years behind..and that is weapons systems. As you may know, the British version of the Harriers used a set of recce/targeting pods that are not available in the sim, being these the DJRP, Sniper and TIALD (which most if not all of it´s operational manuals are still classified). Not to mention also a pod carrying countermeasures in one of the 3 belly stations. Implementation of these pods could take us longer than expected, and i would really like to get a Harrier beta this year (fingers crossed). I just wanted to be honest with you, no BS statements will come from us, this is the current situation and i put it out as it is. So..as our 1st Harrier pack, we are going to create the AV-8B Night Attack version, this will allow us enough time to create the other system pods as we can get info on them and implement them in the sim. So the road map would be AV-8B Night Attack followed by the GR7/GR9 versions and hopefully the AV-8B Harrier II Plus after at the end. Of course..if during AV-8B Night Attack version, a fully viable A/G radar is available for us to play with..it could evolve into an AV-8B Harrier II Plus version.."
  9. Most of us would like an F-16 whether it can do much more than an F-18c or not. ED are more than aware we all want it so we have to assume it will be at least on their radar for a future module. Forcing the issue won't help much. We are at a bit of a cross roads with DCS, they have all but finished creating the new engine which was no doubt taking up a lot of man hours. Give them time to stabilise it and clear out all the bugs, then we can likely expect them to fully crack on with more modules of which things like the F-16 will be likely candidates, along with some Russian stuff to make everybody happy.... An SU-34 would be a nice start ;)
  10. I think many people have been waiting to see what Dovetail offer for the next version of Flight sim, this isn't it, it came out of the blue earlier this week and is another game being produced in parallel with the new full on sim. It also releases very soon. It is however interesting, it might not appeal to most DCS fans as it is very much aimed at new comers to flight sims in order to teach them the basics. Whether this means simplified systems, or a full on sim with a good way of tutoring people I am not sure. But it may be worth keeping an eye on as an decent foot in the door for would be flight simmers can only be a good thing in the long run... "After acquiring the rights to develop and publish new titles utilizing Microsoft’s genre-defining flight simulation technology back in 2014, Dovetail Games recently announced that it will launch two brand new flight simulators in 2016. Dovetail Games Flight School is first to arrive, and is set to release in April 2016. Flight School is a carefully crafted and rewarding experience designed to teach would-be pilots the basics of flying a light aircraft as well as the essential premises of flight simulation. It will offer newcomers to flight simming an engaging and accessible introduction to aviation, whilst also being highly realistic and authentic. Players will learn to fly in iconic training aircraft, undertaking a series of tutorials and training missions, which will provide the perfect introduction to the genre. There will also be a Free Flight mode, for those players who want to head off and explore the entire world."
  11. We're getting the ground pounding version (GR.1 most likely) from VEAO. I'd like an F3 also but it likely won't be a priority.
  12. Yeah, and imagine the running costs on this thing! Still, if I had the money, I'd pay it happily...

    DCS: F-5E!

Definitely, I often opt for unguided munitions just to up the fun. This is why I'm looking forward to stuff like the Tornado appearing in DCS.. :joystick:
  14. How nice must it be to be rich? This is a genuine mint condition one of a kind Tornado being offered for sale to any private individual or company that has a bit of money. It was used as a test bed for the Harriers radar and as a result has less than 1000 hours clocked on it, around six times less than current in service GR-4's. It also has dual front and rear flight controls. It has to be sold as a static display aircraft insurance purposes, but it can easily be converted to fly again. It will also likely cost less than some super cars go for these days... http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/forget-that-old-surplus-mig-someone-needs-to-buy-this-1755644580
  15. I'll be honest, I love BTD's work, but I'm not feeling this one at all. Doesn't seem very fitting for such a graceful machine. Maybe it will grow on me though in time.

    DCS: F-5E!

Yes, he makes most of the soundtracks for DCS, I like it also.
  17. This is great news, the GR.9 will make for one heck of a DCS module if they do it justice...

    Harrier poll

I missed the pole, but would have voted GR.9 for sure! I'm pleasantly surprised to see that being the ultimate winner however. Maybe they will fly again soon enough after all... Bring it on :)

    DCS: F-5E!

The F-5 has a soundtrack heavily influenced by a popular movie it featured in...
  21. Wow that's steep! I was edging towards the Vive already, over to HTC and Valve to see what they can offer price wise.
  22. Haven't been around so much of late, work is mad in December. What a nice surprise to come back too though...
  23. Thanks for the update, I think you have made many people happy with the AJ-37 confirmation! :)
  24. I can't believe I missed this thread!? Very happy...
  25. I'm closer to Waddington, but it isn't a million miles away. Mostly see the F-15's from Lakenheath around my area. They dog fight a lot...
