  1. Ah, I thought that option was for something along the lines of rotating the helicopter :P My bad, then!
  2. Hey guys :) So, I'm trying to set up some controls for the Huey, however I've bumped into a bit of a problem when it comes to the collective. I simply can't find any axis command for it? This is all I see: http://i.imgur.com/m9HyjTu.jpg I do have a "throttle" option, however I don't want to bind the throttle on my Joystick, I want the collective :) What's going on here?
  3. Oh wait, I tried to disable and then enable it, now it seems to work!
  4. Hey Flagrum :) Thanks for the reply and help :) Unfortunately, I can see that the TrackIR aiming is already enabled :( That's kind of weird.
  5. Hey everyone :) So I just obtained UH-1H yesterday thanks to the steam sales! :pilotfly: Anyways, I've been getting a chance to learn it tonight, but unfortunately I still have one problem. When I try to use the side gunners, I can look around using the mouse just fine, but the gun aim doesn't follow it :( I've checked the controls, but I'm not allowed to assign any axis commands for the gunner sights, and right now all there is is some keybinds to aim the gun left/right/up/down, but that is extremely slow and completely useless. How do I assign the gunner aim to mouse look? I can't really seem to figure that one out!
  6. Best day ever! Just purchased A-10C and Black Shark 2!
  7. Hey guys, thanks for all the input :) And thank you for the warm welcome badger! Haha, I'm already itching to buy some new modules, A-10C included! ;) Yes! This is exactly the same mission where I get the warning, but I've now noticed I get it when playing online, too.
  8. Hey everyone :) First of all, finally back to DCS after... well years of not having been into flight sims due to school and various other person reasons. Just returned a few days ago and I'm just amazed at what have happened! Downloaded DCS: World and have been playing it almost non-stop this weekend :D This game is aboslutely gourgeus, and it must be the best and most ambitious combat flight sim I know! Already itching to buy some new modules ^^ Anyways, so I've been doing a lot of practice flying and learning some theory about the SU-25T. There's one thing that keeps bothering me, though. I haven't been able to find anything about it. When I'm at the airport doing a new mission, just being parked and getting ready to take off, I will power up my electrical systems, and immediately I will receive a loud AOA + G limit warning. As far as I know the AOA is an angle of attack warning, but I'm not even flying yet so I'm not sure why it's giving me the error. Both errors stop when I start to move the plane slowly, though... What's up with that? And how can I turn those warnings off? Thanks everyone! :pilotfly:
  9. @Conure: haha, thanks a lot mate, using those buttons to switch between weapons did the trick :D doh... :noexpression:
  10. Hey all! Just a newbie here trying to get to gribs with this beast of a helicopter :D Anyways so for the last couple of days I've just been messing around, trying to get a feel for the aircraft. I've been following the How to take off and blow stuff up tutorial, but there is one section that pretty much leaves me clueless... basically whenever I come to the part describing the weapon status and control panel, I can never seem to get it right as the tutorial shows it should be... that is, my panel isn't showing the store type at all, second of all I'm pretty sure the selected weapons remaining display shows that I do not have the missiles selected (tutorial shows it should be around 12 for the missiles), where mine shows 24... I guess it's some kind of cannon. I've tried pushing the buttons the tutorial shows me to, but no matter what I can't seem to get it completely right:huh: So I guess my question is.. how come my cockpit does not show the store type? And should I get as far as actually getting that to work, how do you switch between the weapons and make them ready to launch? Thanks!
  11. haha, believe me Haukka, already looked into it, aswell as having watched that video ^^ Unfortunately I am anything but ignorant of what I'm currently losing out on... :(
  12. @manne: So far everything have been just fine with the use of my Logitech :) Although I really do get what you mean by using head tracking, as that's the only bigger problem I've found, seeing that it takes a bit more focus away having to manually look around the cockpit during flight with all those buttons :D I really do like the simulator though, and I'm fairly certain that it'll keep growing on me, haha. I could definitely see myself purchasing head tracking and a proper HOTAS setup as I can already imagine how much it must add to the experience.
  13. Alright, just purchased the game through Steam, so will give it a try tonight! I'm locked and loaded with patience! :smartass:
  14. Well unfortunately I've been having a long summer break until I start up on my computer science degree in a few months... so my income is unfortunately staggeringly low! Of course I should just go ahead and blame myself for that as I could've easily picked up some freelancing work, but how much fun is that!?
  15. That's perfectly fine! Atleast this will add some collective information on equipment in one thread:) No need to start another one. Was a good question too, got a lot out of the answers myself, haha!
  16. Sounds good :) What I'm really looking for in a simulator is the idea that if have the knowledge and do even the most basic things correct, it'll award you, and if you don't, it'll more or less "punish" you. I don't think I've yet to find any simulator that TRULY goes through with this, which is a shame ( maybe DCS is it? :) ) In the end that's what a simulator should do anyways, as it is so rewarding when you finally do it all correctly :D @Yskonyn: Thanks for the advises, and yes, as you say, I'd really rather just start of purchasing the game and see whenever or not it can keep my interest, and if it really hits through, I'd be willing to shell out some $$$$ for better hardware :) I think this game will really make my decision on whenever or not more serious simulation gaming is actually me. Actually I had already planned to purchasing HOTAS, pedals and then TrackIR should this turn out to be really enjoyable, as I'd also be able to use it in my other simulator games :)
  17. Now even though I am a pretty technical person, looking into it free track definitely doesn't look, well... worth it in the long run  I'd be willing to spend the extra bucks for TrackIR. Sounds good :) Thanks for the input. Oh and just in case anyone will happen to read this, even those it's quite off-topic, I just watched the 1 hour startup procedure video tutorial and it had me, to say the least, quite amazed, even left me with a , haha. Anyways, since all you serious pilots out there will undoubtably follow the correct procedures before taking off, I was wondering if there actually is any chance of failure in the systems at all, which would be caught during the procedure? Or if all the detail is more or less there to satisfy the inner pilot :D Also on that note, is there any chance of system failures, or more severe failues happening during flight? Or how many details there has actually went into damage overall, either due to uh.. external threats or just being unlucky!
  18. Alright guys, should this game prove to fuel my interest even more, I'll definitely look into head tracking devices :)
  19. wow, such a supportive and responsive community :D Thanks a lot for all the replies, very much appriciated! Well, seems like I can go ahead an purchase DCS: Black Shark and get a good first start on it  More feedback is obviously always welcome, I'll value all oppinions on the matter.
  20. Thanks for the quick reply! :) On that note, if I wanted to eventually take it further... would something like the X-52 joystick give more enjoyment? Would it be worth the money to upgrade from the stick I have now? Or would I have to take it even futher :megalol:
  21. Alright, for lack of better wording the title came off a bit goofy! :megalol: But hey! No harm done. So anyways, I saw DCS: Black Shark on sale in the Steam store a few days ago, and after reading the description and looking around a bit, it instantly grabbed my interest. Now I haven't been all that much into simulation games, although I have been quite an avid gamer of MS Flight Simulator 2004 and X... although somehow I feel the experience I would get in Black Shark is more what I've been looking for, for such a long time ( 500+ manual? Should be enough of an in-depth experience for me ) :D Oh and obviously I always enjoy a quick online match of IL-2 from time to time ^^ Now that's not to say that I don't like in-depth games which require a lot of time, that's actually what I've really been looking for in a simulator game ( it's what they're there for after all ). ... way to make my question oh so much longer, anyways! This game seems to be so advanced that I'm actually doubting whenever or not I'll been able to enjoy the game only using my Logitech Freedom 2.4? I looked around on the forums a bit and didn't seem to be able to find any answers that satisfied my actual question ( god I hope this won't be one of those embarrassing moments where someone will link to one of the stickied thread... I've done my best to find out, honest! :D ). Thanks!
