about names priorities and marketing ... i purchased LOMAC. BS1 and FC2. (which are compatible online). okay now we got the DCS World which is the new base and makes "modules" interact which is all good just... what will be the big motivation to buy FC3 ? SU-25T is already available for free and correct me when im wrong the FC3 will also feature the basic flight model for the F15C, Mig-29 etc. Im looking forward to purchase the Combined Arms and the BS2 upgrade since i think its an awesome simulation and very well worth the money. Will make an awesome Tank vs Tankkiller Simulation :D I just had wished DCS World would have started with : Focus on Combined Arms, then adding the BS2 and A-10 (which were done already) and then adding Mig-29/F15C with advanced flight model and drop the FC3 name. dont get me wrong the P-51D Mustang im sure is very awesome just ya ... maybe after finally having a FIGHTER JET WITH ADVANCED FLIGHT MODEL/Avionics...

Yeah i know *sigh*. Even though you can do lots of stuff with it. Quick and dirty. ;) I wanted real weather like in FS 2004 so i coded something that downloads METAR data from the internet and creates a mission file with the input. I could have done that manually but hey i´m way too lazy. That´s why programming languages have been invented, right ? It´s just that i did not have much time and motivation anymore and it´s usability is still very limited but it works. I´m flying with real weather from UKFF (Simferopol). Mainly to make the daily bridge flying session more interesting :D

That´s true ! If you set the wind direction TO 179 in the briefing the wind will blow FROM 359. However in the Lomac file the value will be saved as 181 (if you want to code something). Part of my getWindDirection function in VB6. That´s the way it works in 1.02 - Didn´t get 1.1 yet.

Am i the only one who thinks that the whole LUA thing encourages cheating ? Just look at all the returned values and scripting possibilites.

When they introduced Paypal Europe i received several emails concerning the new regulations etc. AFAIK they are regulated by the government. Yeah, right. Or so I´m told, I´ve not found it yet ! lol What kind of joke is that ? Only thing i heard was that PayPal really doesn´t like pr0n, so stay away from that. That was in the (internet) news. I use PayPal for online shopping since i have no credit card.

They introduced the new system after everyone got mad like here right now. Initially the number of keys were also very limited. With LFS the devs are in control of their sim and product activation and no 3rd party is involved. I also think it´s very sad that one must apply copy protection to such a product. I think it´s safe to say that just the serious simmers would buy the title anyways. If you are a hardcore simmer you buy your software, right ? Maybe if you were really really poor you wouldn´t buy it. Still there aren´t that many good sims around and i think almost everyone can afford them. I don´t get why we need such a hardcore protection for a niche product with dedicated fans. Same feelings for Live For Speed but the system is pretty comfortable now and there are no 3rd party drivers involved. I don´t have much money but i would never ever pirate a good sim :?

ED could give away licenses and tools for Lock On Addons. I mean like officially approved 3rd party addons with profit sharing. I think that would be fair since the devs did the main work. I would pay for quality aircrafts designed for a quality engine. Not like this FS2004 rip off stuff. First project should be a Tornado :P

That´s what i wondered. Usually a flight model is something global that applies to all aircrafts. Like physics are the same for all objects IRL. It was a rather technically question. I assume the 3D model is very connected with the physics model (gear struts, pivot points etc) and all the other aircrafts models would have had to be redone.

Great Preview ! How does this work out ? Are there 2 different flight models coded into the engine or some different routines and tweaks that only apply to the new aircraft ? Did they improve the ground handling of the other aircrafts ?

Yeah, pretty please ? In many european countries credit cards aren´t very common because we have many other payment options. In the US this is not the case. I already purchased Live for Speed S2 via Paypal. Now LockOn 1.1 please :)
