  1. Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I was not able to upload a file but there were some more tests and I report what I myself and several other guys are experiencing. With no wind in the mission you have no issues. That means that the wind is the probable cause of the left drift (sometimes it is to the right for other guys) BUT with a 5 knots wind you have serious problems to hold the jet straight as described above. Consider what follows (pasting from the net): “ These designations were standardized nationally in 2008, whereas "light wind" can refer to 0 to 12 or 0 to 15 knots and "moderate wind" 12 to 19 or 16 to 19 knots, depending on regional custom, definition or practice” So we have that in a ‘light’ wind the Viper becomes almost difficult to control on take offs. You can never risk a formation take off like that. My question is: is that normal in your opinion? I have never driven a real F-16, but common sense tells me that General Dynamics would not have sold one of those jets if they were so hazardous in a light wind... not speaking of a strong one. Therefore in my humble opinion there must be some little bug in the way Eagle Dynamics’s F-16 takes cross wind into account. Would not even be the first module to show this problem They fixed it before. We pray consider fixing it for the F-16 module, too as soon as possible. Thanks a lot
  2. Hello all, I don’t know if someone has reported this before, but it seems to me a common issue, speaking with other fellow flight mates. So hopefully ED will look into it and correct what seems to be a little but most distressing bug, that is making take offs a quite hazardous affair I refer to the fact that on the ground the Viper nose always drifts to the left (it's not the wind or the load out, it happens even if the wind blows in the other direction in clean config). If I'm taxiing slowly, the nose wan't stay stright on the yellow line. It always moves a bit, and over 20 kts G/S I need to apply rudder or differential braking to hold it straight. As said the real problem comes at the take off. The faster the jet, the faster the pull, making it difficult to stay on the runway. Without applying first a firm correction of wheel steering and, after NVG disengagement, from half to full (depending on weight) rudder, and even short differential braking, I always risk to end out of the left side of the runway. And with all that rudder correction sometimes the jet risks kipping on one side. In good days I’ll do a drunkard take off run, in bad ones, well you can imagine... And to do a two ship departure in this conditions is not the case On landing it's quite the same story, but till I’m aerobraking nose high, I can counteract with a firm differential braking (meaning a have most of the time to brake only right brake to stay straight and needing more runway to slow down) and even applying stick, if need be, and once the nose drops I need to be slow enough to go soon to NWS on, and avoid departing runway. As initially I though it depended from my flight controllers, I tried anything in clean and heavy configuration, from external calibrations, to putting dead zones and curves in DCS on the 3 rudder axis, and at last even unplugging my pedals at all and trying to steer with the keyboard... same result. I don’t know from what that depends but the feeling is like if the left main gear is slightly braked all the time. Or maybe the engine thrust is slightly de centered to the right. I’d like you guys to report if you encountered a similar issue and how you deal with it If it really is a bug as I suspect, the more speak up the sooner ED will become aware of this and help us to have back safe departures and landings. Thanks in advance for any reply.
  3. Hi guys, we have updated documents on Ramp-Start procedure to 1.1.0.8 patch. And we have also translated the Ramp Start document in English for you! So now from our websitewww.vipersnest.it, navigate to Download page and have a look at the first NEW two PDF's on the top (of the 'Documenti VsN' section) Below there is the Italian version of Ramp Doc as well. They Are: VsN A-10C DCS Ramp Start ENG (or ITA) (a step by step visual doc on Ramp) & VsN_DCS_A-10_Ramp_Start_Check-list (ahandy Check list for your kneeboard) As always PLEASE report errors if there are Any feedback is welcome Enjoy
  4. You are right They are inverted Thanks for the correction Updated file uploaded now
  5. Hi guys, we of Vipersnest realized a couple of documents on Ramp-Start procedure. One is in Italian but images are fully understandable The check-list on the other hand, may be used by everyone GO to www.vipersnest.it, navigate to Download page and look at the first two PDF's on the top (of the 'Documenti VsN' section) This docs have been written in accordance to DCS A-10C Ramp Start practice mission (Beta 4) but as it all is a work in progress it may vary. Report errors if there are Hoping this may help someone else... Thank you :joystick:
  6. Stop all, guys! There must be a bug in the forum!! Why can't I se an F-16 in the Poll options!!??!!??
  7. I recieved the email and clicked on the link but still can't see the beta forum I think the to registrations are somehow connected.
  8. I used a different email Now I have modified my email on the Forum to match the one of the purchase. But the login name of the purchase is different of the one of the forum and I sill can't see the beta forum Anyway, why are to different registrations needed? When I tried to register for the purchase, using my forum login name registration did not go (could thah be becouse I used a different mail?). So I had to change the login name. Maybe this help to better registration procedures What to do now to see beta forum? Thanks
  9. 700 pages ar a bit lot.. I'll see what I can do
  10. It tells me Please register at forums.eagle.ru to access a closed Beta forum. But the link simply brings me to this forum, where once logged in I cant' find the beta forum. Even tried to log in with the user name I needed to use for the download page but it doesen't work
  11. Thank you Viper that was clear and fast. Was just wondering about Beta forum Have I to downlod first in order to see it or am I simply blind so that I can't find it?
  12. (Sorry if that was already asked or replied..there are so many posts...) I have bought the product. Going to download it this evening at home. Now, if I download 64bit version can I still download 32bit version, too? I have both WinXP32 and Win764 on my PC. As there is that TrackIR problem I need both versions at the moment. Please reply me Thanks
  13. Thanks guys, I'll try to contact Matt Wagner ciao
  14. Hello all, I was wondering if DCS is going to have an Italian version of the DCS A-10 manual. If not, I am willing to do the translation in order to put it direcly inside the final product. I'll do this as I hope to help italian virtual pilots to choose and lern well the new sim. And for pilots of my group first of all. If someone knows more about it or has contacts, please PM me or email me at VsN.DRAKO@gmail.com I'm not new to such translations. I translated before parts of the MCH or the Dash 34 http://www.vipersnest.it/public/downloads/BMS-Dash34-ITA.pdf cheers
  15. really nice thanks for the link
  16. IMnotsoHO :music_whistling: one should start from some analysis before saying I want this or that. First choice for a sim producer is between an arcade or high-realism simulation. On the first road you can easily put a lot of planes and make it funny for people who just like shooting without much study and realism. Those type of sims sell good but fade as fast as the vaporous passion for aerial operations of the virtual pilots who love them for some time. The second type is more risky in commercial terms but could become a ‘legend’ (if it has an open architecture) giving you the possibility to sell new pieces of it for decades. Usually people who fly those sims, have a much deeper passion than the other ones, a passion thought to die. With DCS, Eagle Dynamics seems to have put itself on the second road, and we are all happy and thankful about that. Why that, after several years of nearly arcade products? Maybe because the hardcore simmer community meanwhile has organized in big groups on the net and specialized trough online training, created schools and a standard that attract most of the new generation virtual pilots, so orientating their sim choice from the beginning? Majority finally looking for extreme realism + high connectivity stability and not only for graphic details? Or maybe because ED is just trying the other road and sort of betting that it will all be fine? Whatsoever the reasons, to realize such a complicated sim has big costs and the choice of the right plane is essential because IMO it has to be 1. doable 2. cost as few as possible to implement 3. like to lot of people (to sell as much as possible) About the first point: to do a good work you will need to have lots of unclassified material and possibly people who have flown the real thing to test and make it as close as possible to RL; so for several years still, it can’t be a recent jet like F-22, F-35, Su-35, Su T-50, Eurofighter, Rafale, Gripen. (Helos is a still too small market for actual pilots in my opinion, and should be preferably integrated in an advanced ground operations simulator). About second point: you will be happy to utilize all the work done in previous years on preceded sims sold by your firm. Therefore, previously enhanced planes with lot of study ready on it, will be a good point where to start from. About the third point: you will choose a model that can be interesting not only for the actual active military sim communities and attract new gamers, but for all the vast simmer generations of the last years that have somehow abandoned operations but would like to give a try to a new sim (if it has a plane they already flew before) just to see if they are still fit to it. From all that, I don’t think that our wish list can affect a pure commercial choice. After the A-10 I think that the possible next planes in DCS will be jets like F-15, MiG-29 and Su-25 We all know where we have already seen them…. So DCS seems to follow the same old logic of having an AA and AG fighter of each cold war block. While Su-25 will probably come out only afterwards, as A-10 already is an A-G role, as next we will probably see an AA role. I guess on the USA side, just because the theatre is still ready. So it will be an F-15 probably. BUT considering my third point, I am asking myself if DCS has any ambition to attract the vast mass of Falcon4 pilots. It is true that a high implemented A-10 will probably bring most of us Falconers (myself surely) to try and possibly to use this sim. But if DCS will not be able to give us an F-16, it will always be our second choice, a sim to use along with Falcon4. And moreover, cold war is over and the new scenery shows that F-16s are top sellers all over the world. DCS simply can’t not notice it! And then they are multirole… ok I’ll stop here my F-16 implorations! So, even if I don’t think my wishes will change a dot in DCS plans, I hope they will pick up the challenge and become the new ‘legend’ for us Viper pilots. One last consideration. Along with an F-16 (or any other jet) I think a basic training prop plane like T6 Texan II would be urgently needed, in order to enable virtual wings to implement a complete virtual pilots school approach. Thank you DCS for all done so far and for what will come! can't resist in putting in this smile :pilotfly:
