  1. Hello Black Cat Simulations, I don't know why this project has been under my radar for such a long time, but I sure as rain will follow the progress on the Tu22M3 from now on! Flying a bomber is truly something, who wouldn't want to fly such an imposing aircraft as the Tupolev and go after carrier groups or concentrated ground targets?. I can't wait to cycle through the crew positions and take up the tasks of a bomber crew. Nice to see new technologies being used to assist in the workload. Keep up the good work, Sven K.
  2. Finally got round to settle down and buy the MiG-21. Have flown a lot of helos and the Su-25 in DCS but this one is a different animal. For now I like just taking off and landing, but I'm slowly exploring all the features of the 21 as I progress through the manual. :pilotfly:
  3. Awesome! Attack aircraft are my favourite in the DCS world!! Mig-23 looks mean, will be a crack to fly.
  4. Yes, but... DCS products should, in my opinion, be developed as part of a roadmap containing a clear goal. So the goal could be: Create a Falkland scenario. And then determine the minimal start point. Which could be two attack aircraft from either side of the conflict, the map and a Brit ACcarrier. That would form a nice startpoint and tons of play value. To this point I've only purchased DCS products which have this goal defined (mostly Russian Stuff).
  5. IL2 is great, but not for the B17, there was once a whole sim dedicated to this special bomber, it´s called B17: The mighty 8th. You could manually aim the norden bomb sight, take ANY position there was in the plane and manage your crew members(assingin tasks like putting out fires and help wounded crew members), in that sim you could also fly escort fighters and the 109, 190 and 262. It was my first flight simulator:thumbup: I can even remember my first kill, I was the tail gunner and fired a long burst towards incoming fighters, one of them, a 109 went down burning:smilewink: A great game, I think I still have it somewhere. But back on topic, I would have loved to see a Mig-21 sim.
  6. After some days of flying I can now succesfully complete campaign missions, often my wingman gets himself killed, but then again it shows me the locations of anti aircraft emplacements. There´s this one mission though that I can not complete in the scripted missions. It´s called Battle, at first I am able to shoot some stuff on the ground and enjoy the fireworks but then some annoying Cobra´s think it is funny to strafe me with their guns, not after they shot their whole payload of missiles at me. So I restarted the mission, hit the Air to Air button next to the Ground target button, and started looking for the Cobra´s on my display, and I saw them buzzing around somewhere on the other side of the battle, but I couldn´t lock on to any of them, I could however lock on to some tanks when I hit the Ground Target button and let them explode with my Vikhr, any tips on how I can nail those Cobra´s? That would be much appreciated. Sven
  7. The full blown simulator of course, otherwise it would be a complete waste of my time, haha. Thanks for the links, I already found the newbies guide, very helpful to get me in the air, still practising and trying to improve my G940 skills, I only got this system last weekend, still not used having both hands and your feet on devices to control your aircraft, but from what I experienced the G940 is far more effective here in KA-50 Black Shark then IL2 sturmovik for example. I can auto hover and shoot some targets with the small missile pod ( forgot the name), still having difficulties with the ViKhr Sven EDIT: Thanks Cat for the offer! I have a week off next week so I'll be practising a lot, If I run into serious trouble I will PM if you dont mind :P.
  8. Hello there folks, I´m Sven, and have been playing DCS Black Shark since this morning, and I´m already addicted! A fantastic game, I´m sure it will keep me flying for the coming months or years. I followed the newbies guide for this chopper ( which is really helpfull to noobs like me) and managed to park my KA-50 in a barn's lawn. I have not yet figured out how to work with the Vikhr but that will come with time. A salute to this great community! see you in the skies, Sven
