  1. Win 8.1 Pro x64 (now with mouse friendly Update 1)
  2. Voted originally for Win 7. Now migrated to Win 8 Pro.
  3. Well I already had all the peripherals so just the £40 cost of the software. Bargain :)
  4. "certainly not any infantry (They'd only break/steal something )" This is true. I remember many years ago when waiting on a Herc we saw that the herc next to us was empty but being loaded with the infamous RAF 'white box' packed lunches. When the loadmaster went away a couple of us left our plane sneaked aboard the other and stole them. We were well fed when we arrived at our destination :)
  5. I did. I just stated some facts as not everyone has money to burn these days.
  6. Yes buy on steam then DL from ED using link at the top of this page More discussion on Steam keys here. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=77791&highlight=steam
  7. You can buy on Steam and use the activation code to use on the version DLed from ED. That way you get the best of both (cheaper price from Steam and quicker patches/ease of modding from ED)
  8. Copy the profile to the profiles folder. Default location on W7 is C\Users\Public\Public Documents\Saitek SD6 Profiles Then select the profile by right clicking the controller icon in the notification area and select it by clicking its name from the list that pops up.
  9. My greatest WOW moment? When my guild managed to bring down the Lich King after many attempts.......:music_whistling:
  10. I've read about CdKeyPress in the past. They used to mainly deal in stolen WoW accounts but have now moved into other online games markets by selling keys 'bought' as gifts using stolen/hacked account info. I'm guessing if you purchased this one it would come as a gift from someone's hacked Steam account.
  11. I have the Creative X-Fi titanium and it has Dolby Digital Live. It's good because when I'm at the desk I get the surround as per normal cards (via standard 3.5mm connectors) but when gaming on my TV it sends the games sound as 5.1 DD via S/PDIF to my AV amp and sounds excellent. Before I had a normal card with S/PDIF out but it would only send game sound as 2 channel stereo so DD Live makes all the difference.
  12. I'm new too, just got A10 today and am now berating myself for not getting it on release or at beta stage. I was initially worried about performance issues but it runs smooth with decent (50s)fps on high settings on my quad core set-up. I did what everybody says not what to do and jumped in straight away to the quick start (freeflight/air) just to get a feel and wow it's good. Piloting skills not so much- first landing collapsed the gear and second slightly better with just burst tyres. Then a spent a few hours mapping my x-52pro and setting up TrackIR... Anyway better get back to it and work through the training missions properly :) I predict a very busy weekend stuck in front of the PC.
  13. Just thought I'd post that I was just looking at my wishlist on Amazon.co.uk and the Warthog has had a whopping £130 knocked off. I don't know if it's just for Christmas but it is certainly a bargain. :)
  14. Great idea, I bet many new flyers like me would appreciate it. I'm still learning to fly so I usually make a mission with engines started. But soon I'm going to have to learn the cold start routine, last time I tried it took about 5 minutes to find all the switches.
  15. Thomas, follow the 2nd link that Distiler posted and install the addons then run RestoreTracks.bat that is in the Training folder. I did that and all tracks work for me in 1.02
  16. Thanks Haril, that was a good explanation. Just did a quick test flight (Joys of working from home :) ) and that certainly made transitioning to a hover a lot easier.
  17. It happens when I come into a hover manually no airspeed. I might have some small forward or backward cyclic to keep the hover, so I press trim so I can centre the stick, thats when it pitches up.
  18. Had this sim for a week or so now and have manged to get the basic handling sorted. I can now get from A to B (albeit sometimes via C and D :music_whistling: )safely and no more surprise crashes. My only problem is the trimmer. I am using the new version (press trim, release trim then centre the stick), all seems to work well except when I've just come to a hover. I manually get to a hover but when I press the trim the aircraft immediately pitches up. The trim behaves as it should in all other cases just a problem when I trim in a hover. Has anybody else noticed this or have an explanation?
  19. Sub Logic Flight Simulator II and Falcon for the Atari ST. I had the Mega ST4 version with monachrome and colour monitors and a hard drive..Nerd Heaven :)
  20. On the options/controls page is a "save profile as" feature. You can save the profile for use later :)
  21. you will need to get modman, its the program that installs mods for you. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=54353 Not sure about the encyclopedia, I haven't got DCS installed at the moment so cannot check to see if mine works with the new patch (just reinstalled Windows 7)
  22. The latest patch has broken the training missions. There is a mod that fixes it It is found here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=951576#poststop
  23. This seems to be the result of my landings so far :music_whistling: This bird aint easy to fly, time to spend a Sunday afternoon reading the manual and watching the videos.
  24. Found that out before I read your post Joey, but thanks. I already had Modman for use in FC2 so ive applied that mod :). Now time to spend a few hours with SST to set up my x-52 pro. The joys of simming..
  25. Dive from above, then a well timed grenade lobbed from the cockpit ....
