  1. Just loaded the 48335 update. Multiplayer shows zero servers. Tried exit/reload. Nada. Might reboot next. I'm in MT version (is there even a difference anymore?) Thanks for any tips! Naturally, once I gripe about it, the full server list appears! This is how I drive action - panic in public, then the gremlins laugh at me, so I look stupid! Anyway, on first 3 tries, no MP servers, but now okay. Just data.
  2. So, in one of the recent YouTube interviews of Matt Wagner, he alluded to the cost and demand model. If there are insufficient customers for a prospective module, ED will not make it. But - if a 3rd party wishes to make a module, they can do so. Does anyone have any idea, how many customers it takes to justify a module or is there any data that says how many customers have purchased which modules, per module? That would be very interesting.
  3. So, my estimates are likely no worse than the project modules that are sparsely resourced or notifications from 2015 or 2017 that were listed as “on hold”. I well imagine creation to full release of these modules is an arduous task requiring much artwork and technical functionality and testing. So my graphic attempts to draw an estimate from amount of info provided, speaker/author references to time frame, and the actual release of the proposed module. So most contentious or dubious is my classification of the “era”. In my own selfish interest, I am following the creation of modules most present in various “eras” because I am seeing a trend to many Vietnam-utilized aircraft. This and Wags interview statements lead me to believe that while not imminent (within a year), a Vietnam map is on the radar (2-3 years in the offing). I admit my classification is fuzzy. So Me-262. A little sad that this seems an on-hold module. But my DCS experience does not go back more than 3 years, so nice to see it mentioned, but haven’t seen any energy around this for the last 3 years. Hope it resurrects.
  4. @cfrag - Interesting points. So my color coding is darker for what I believe is the correct time frame, but as lags do happen, the fading color is the thinking behind that. I have managed many projects, but DCS seems to follow the process similarly for Manufacturing Execution System software, so it fascinates me. But, I consider that the resources and money are much less than projects I have seen, so project lag infects many of the modules shown. My interest for doing this is my curiosity on when what modules will come available and my enthusiasm for seeing a Vietnam world in our future. Also, I need to plan SSD upgrades. Also I need to practice flying better.
  5. @Silver_Dragon Some information may be dated, but was current in the time I entered it. “Rumored” reflects the strength of the statements at the time I captured them. Some messaging is stronger or weaker than others. Whether a company executes with project work against such statements is up to the company and the conviction of their messaging. Also much of this is second hand from either YouTube updates, ED updates, or Stormbirds.com articles which usually reflect public announcements. Can you cite your source for the ME-262 plan? First I’ve heard of that. The Bo-105 seems to change back and forth. I recall reading it was on hold or not being progressed. Please cite your source if it is back on. If I’ve missed some less-mentioned modules, I accept that as a hazard of doing this as a hobby, not an output regulated by a government agency. Not an attempt to be comprehensive, more to gauge major modules, mentioned in media and official newsletters, and to spot trends in timing and theaters. I won’t include assets packs or campaign scenarios. Too minor for my interest. I make no promise of comprehensive review. Only what I capture, when I capture it. Thanks for your input. I will study it against what I already have and make adjustments or cite sources as time permits.
  6. The more I engage in DCS, the more I get fascinated with the development process. I hope that this has nothing to do with the fact that I tend to be a crappy flyer! Anyway, each of these development companies outside of Eagle Dynamics seem to be small technical outfits with big challenges relative to a demanding market and somewhat over-hyped timelines. So as a project manager, one day I decided to just graph it all based on all the various notices, updates, YouTube, ED, Stormbirds, Discord, X-twitter, and Facebook. These are my guesses only based on what limited public information I could find. Please tell me if I am way off, I can correct it. That said, if most of these come to fruition in the next three years, we're in for a butt-load of modules and worlds. I know I've not captured everything, but wow!, looks like the soup for a Vietnam-based world is warming up. Especially since the recent Wags interview with CW Lemoine and his Korea/Vietnam comments. Enjoy.
  7. I need to add the J-8 but looks like fertile ground ahead.
  8. So- Can ED articulate why they would not wish to detail and add Crimea? (Probably not, so I will try) Personal Safety: Prior to 20Feb2014, the first Ukraine invasion, I think this was possible, but now is such a time that resources at ED are sensitized by 20Feb2014 and 24Feb2022. Thus, there could be unintended consequences. I am sad, but I am also ignorant to the nuances of those politics and the impact on the personal safety of ED's resources. Sensitivity/Harmony: Also, if I imagine further, given that some of ED's resources may be both Russian and Ukrainian nationals, it would be gloriously insensitive to task them with updating a current battle zone for purpose of a gaming simulation, particularly if they are passionate on one side or the other. Security Side of ED's Business: It has been mentioned that ED does work on the professional simulation side. to flesh out a Crimea map could divulge confidential information in it's less public business areas. If I'm ED's professional (military) customer, I am writing a contract that has language "under no circumstances will ED map for its gaming segment the following geographies" (insert list here - but we can postulate - Crimea, Mainland China, Interior Russia/Russian major cities, etc). To do so could compromise (or appear to compromise - which in itself is a risk) sensitive intelligence of its professional customers. The above said, I think we are more likely to see Nebraska than Crimea in the near future.
  9. When it finally arrives in earnest, it will be great. It's tantalizingly close.
  10. Was playing the 4YA server for MP this week and every external view (F2, F4, etc) was set at FOV 140 versus the usual (normal view, as 140 is harshly very wide angle) 70. This was true for both the self view of the plane I was flying and ever other 2d player that was on the server. So looking at own plane and others was all at 140 default, not 70. This is adjustable, but very weird it would default to crazy wide-angle 140. Other players experienced the same effect.
  11. On multiplayer, on the 4YA servers I have the following problem: When rearming the Su-33 on the Kuznetsov, I get the “Hey what are you doing!” Message and the weapons don’t complete the load out. I attempt to load full missiles or full rockets and the remaining hard points as missiles and it has left typically 1-3 hard points empty. Always the R-73s. I have tried lowering the fuel, assuming that it is a weight restriction, but makes no difference. ver 2.8.0.33006
  12. I wish (not that it matters to ED) they would flesh out Crimea again. It’s relevant now. I would more than love to take pot shots at the Kerch Bridge. Maybe one day…
  13. I am really getting anxious for another map. C'mon Razbam! finish this!!! That said - would it be worth to release a beta-map for ~$10. Then up-charge another $20 for final polished product? I'd buy the beta while the final was being worked out.
  14. I've taken the ferry ride from Stockholm to Turku - the little islands in that archipelago are amazing! Would be a great map.
  15. Ben here. Been playing DCS about a year+. What an outrageously diverse (many planes) and advancing (frequent updates) product! To all the developers, I say Thank you! Got module mania. Ordered about 1-2 every sale. Now after much MP time, hoping to refine my skills with campaigns. I am woefully amateur. I know 1-2 planes in a low-moderate way, I know about 15 enough to crash regularly without much help. Also, what a great community! Questions always answered sincerely and helpfully. Cheers.
  16. Was taking off in A10A from Haifa, said I was leaving Krasnodar.
  17. You are correct, there was a video about a month ago, I thought as the holidays approached we might get a nice surprise, but the video only indicated that development was continuing… Looks fantastic, wish they’d complete/release it.
  18. Sorry - One more - from what I have heard… Falklands. First attachment is Falklands in the same window-size as Caucuses. Second attachment is scaled to what I have heard, that it will include a piece of South America/Argentina. Area of second is 2x2 times (4 times more) that of the first. I am not a professional cartographer, so I cannot account for Mercator projections, etc…
  19. These are approximately the size of Syria and Caucuses. For starters. Isn’t the planned Falklands map in development supposed to be larger than Syria or Caucuses?
  20. Yes, they did provide the sleeves. From this, I think I will install the 2nd of 2 because I suspect the rubbing (without sleeve) damaged the first cable leading to the problem. Plus, feel better for assurance against further issues.
  21. Sorry/delay - Yes. Work kept me from really exploring the throttle function in the last two weeks. Virpil sent cables. Replaced left throttle cable. Worked better, but not precisely. Calibrated fully last night and logged onto DCS. Throttle seems to work okay. But when it was not working I re-set some of my key-bindings and now need to re-set them for the throttle again. They sent two cables so I will likely do the right one as well.
  22. My throttle is messed up. They are sending me some parts. Also a YouTube to watch to fix it.
  23. OK. So this took some time. Mostly for trying different options. I reconnected away from my hub directly to to computer. I do not know if it was USB 2.0 or 3.0. Computer is under desk and I was crawling around, a bit desperate, to be honest. Still kind of defective - so I did the full recalibration and saved it to my profile. Seems to have been successful. I think there is some drop in power through the hub and possibly different USB revisions. I've used the throttle for about 10 minutes now. So not much time so far.
  24. Curious if anyone else has had problems with the Virpil throttle. Here is what I see: 1. One day - fine, no problem. 2. One day all lights B1-B6 - all Yellow (random, at MODE-1 not programmed, see photo). Throttles RX, RY, RZ work, nothing else (no other switches T1-T7, throttle switches, etc) works. X, Y, Z levers do not work. 3. Next day - all B1-B6 modes dark. No other switches work. (Normally MODE-1 is dark, MODE-2 Blue, MODE-3 Green, MODE-4 Red, MODE-5 Yellow) No other switches work RX,RY, RZ work. But RX, RY, RZ, are at an extreme reduced range of throttle movement - the physical throttles are good, but the virtual throttles have 50% of their range and require extreme tuning to work. 4. Same day, B1-B6 and other switches working again. Same day, all switches out. Same day, they work again. As of today I went through 3-4 cycles of working/not-working in the space of 45 minutes. It's a pattern of on-off-on-off-on-off. Very strange. I am sending help requests to Virpil, but have been slower than usual to respond during the week due to my job. I am hoping someone on here has experienced the same and has the solution directly or what Virpil did. I am thinking problem is either cord (fairly easy to fix) or circuit board (a little more work, but need the board). (YES I HAVE TRIED : Resetting/reloading the Firmware, several times.) Thanks!
