You've got that right! & it's out of beta! have they said somewhere that they will fix this?

A reminder of the challenges
CoBlue replied to Chief Instructor's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bopq52ncaBk Terrible crash! hope the crew survived! Wonder what his v/s was when he hit the ground & if the heavy bounce was a factor of inertia or to much power applied? This looks very familiar to some of mine sim-crashes. -
See post #54 and this http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122636 Basically wrong IAS in windy conditions.

Indicated Air Speed seems to be wrong in DCSW?
CoBlue replied to CoBlue's topic in General Questions
Yes it's still wrong since the latest 1.2.11 update....It's showing GS instead of IAS. In all FC3 aircrafts. -
I posted those findings 6 months ago, I don't know witch was in beta then. But those problems effect all existing FC3 aircrafts & BT's helicopters, P-51.
-
If you flying in a crosswind or headwind your IAS (indicated airspeed) is wrong, it shows GS (ground speed) instead! in ALL FC3 aircrafts (other 3:rd party models too) A fundamental error by ED that I posted about 6 months ago here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122636 & here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122387 & nothing is being done about that? This error effects your crosswind landings, stall speed & flight dynamics! So why isn't ED doing something about it? they claim to have "unmatched flight physics"....?

When facing straight on an 20m/s (= 40kts=72km/h) headwind the IAS (Indicated Airspeed) isn't correct! It shows 0 why?
-
When facing straight on on the runway an 20m/s (= 40kts=72km/h) headwind, the IAS isn't correct! It shows 0 when on ground, should show 40kts. In slow vertical take-off to a hover, watch the Airspeed indicator it's not behaving correctly.
-
When facing straight on, on the runway an 20m/s (= 40kts=72km/h) headwind, the IAS isn't correct! It shows 0 when on ground, should show 70km/h. In slow vertical take-off to a hover watch the Airspeed indicator it's not behaving correct & showing wrong airspeed.

When facing straight on an 20m/s (= 40kts=72km/h) headwind, on the rwy, the IAS (Indicated Airspeed) isn't correct! in the SU-27 (& other models). SU-27 standing still on runway: IAS shows 50km/h should be 72km/h? At rotation the IAS speed sharply droops! see track below. I'm able to fly at 100 km/h? in a 20m/s head wind, this is wrong! My stall speed in clean configuration is 80km/h? See track below. How is this possible in an PFM? DSC World has simulated the basic fundamentals of flight, in regards to IAS in windy conditions totally wrong! This also applies to other models in DCS, see here :http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122636 & http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122387

Indicated Air Speed seems to be wrong in DCSW?
CoBlue replied to CoBlue's topic in General Questions
Why isn't ED doing something about this basic IAS bug? I just tested it in the recent update. Your's IAS calculations are way off & I bet it effects other aspects of the DCS World's aerodynamics! -
1 month after bumping my findings & still no answer from ED....the basic dynamics of wind is ignored in some of the so called "professional flight models"

Is the visibility issue of other aircrafts addressed in EDGE? Right now it's impossible to spot an enemy, without flak giving them away. Obviously most important for props & Sabre, but wouldn't hurt for modern fighters too.
-
I find it easier to taxi with the stick aft whole the time....I don't use rudder pedals.
-
Thanx for posting! But is there a picture with the whole USA underlying as background? then we would have something to compare with.
-
Very uplifting update:thumbup: Looking forward very much to the new maps:)
-
Good initiative guys:thumbup: I enjoyed it very much!
-
I wish we could have "real in sim" app. plates for the NDB's & ILS's
-
The ground handling in DCS PFM is way to sensitive especially the suspension part, way way over done! That's why landings are more difficult then they need & should be. In my whole IRL flying, I've never experienced what DCS replicates in that regard.
-
From the manual: "A conventional tailwheel is also provided. It can be rotated 360 degrees and has a centering lock" So why does the Dora keep on turning during slow taxi, with minimal power, after I've applied aft stick? it should just go straight, all the wheels should be centered? but the tail wheel doesn't center you have to tap the breakes in order for it to center & taxi straight?

Yes, on the start menu press options>gameplay>game flight mode. "Game flight mode" ticked, is the "Easy" model.

DCS: FW-190 English cockpit 1.0
CoBlue replied to Gözcü's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
141st_Gözcü, thank you very much for the English cockpit mod, very nice job:thumbup: -
As a side note, the F15C's (& some other models) IAS is way way off when flying in an headwind. Check out the track furthest down here:http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122387 , F15C starting on rwy with 20m/s=40kts headwind the IAS shows 80kts on ground & then at rotation drops suddenly. Also I'm flying at 60kts without stalling? Anyway just showing that the SFD & AFD still needs working in DCS & if the IAS shows wrong at a "simple" 40kts headwind...who knows what else is wrong? Just checked the F-86 & it seems right in the situation above

Bump....something being done about this? Also see these tests:http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122636 See track below of F15C, starting on rwy with a 20m/s=40kts headwind & look at the IAS & AoA during the flight. Can an F-15C be flown at 60kts without stalling? of course not...but I'm doing it in the track. The IAS is way off. -
Looks good:thumbup: & I'll be preforming cobras all day:)
