My GeForce GTX580 died. While I had things apart troubleshooting I finally put in an additional HDD I got a while ago and threw in an old Nvida 8800GT just so my computer would work while I wait for my new GTX970 to arrive. I am in the process of moving things to the new drive, but checking to see things are working before moving. Neither of my DCS (1.5.x and 2.0.x) will start now. I get the start DCS screen then it crashes before it starts all the way up. Is this because the 8800GT won't run DCS? It is a DX11 compatible card and shows DX11 in the DXDIAG window. I'll attach the log. ? dcs.log.txt

Having this problem too since last update. Windows says it's effects.dll, I think it was, that is causing it. Has happened to me 2 times when dropping CBU-97 tonight so far. Did not have this problem before the last update. Edit, Here; Edit again; Tried another MP server, crashes anytime you watch the CBU's explode targets on the TGP. DCS Crash Logs.zip

Couple questions; Would a 1Tb USB drive or other plug and play hardware removal/reinstall give problems? If I change hardware out for testing purposes but don't start dcs up and return to same hardware state then start dcs will this cause the issue? Problem for me if it will.

Is anything ever going to get done with this? I have to fiddle around getting the kneeboard keys to stay in MP servers for about 20 min several times a day. It is becoming irritating to the point where I just play something else. I started this under the SU-25T here; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=153500 It is common to all FC3 aircraft and in 2.0 as well. There are several posts around the forums about it and no response from dev's that I can find.

More on this..., It will still do it even with the files read only. I have been using a prog called WinMend file copy to quickly reload all the FC3 a/c's Config\Input backups I have made in one quick shot when they get messed up. This is with DCS 1.5 shut down! ----> Sometimes it is not able to copy the effected control .lua saying something opened them while it was trying to overwrite/copy? Then if I retry it overwrites/copies. Weird!?!

Yea, know that. They are kinda necessary to use at times tho. Would be nice to have something less intrusive. I don't leave that stuff on, but when I change something it ain't like I get an "aye aye sir" so I gotta check. Looking down at switches is a no go under fire as well.

Is there any way to manually edit size and positions of the yellow weapon status txt and gunner status box? They are way bigger than necessary for me. Same for Mi -8

Maybe found a temp work-around for this prob. I started the game again today and the S-25T kneeboard keys were messed up again. I even fixed, saved, joined a MP server and had it happen again immediately. I then exited MP, fixed the keys again then went into user\saved games\DCSxxx\config..., just look at the pix. Changed the effected file to read only; There, take that dang it. Seems to work so far. Remember you gotta switch it back to change anything on that controller.

Yea, still fighting with this. Hadn't played in a few days, fired things up, jumped on 104's server and all my FC3 a/c kneeboards are messed up again. Sometimes have to remap and screw around several times before it will stick. Then have it act up again later. This need fix soon. Have something to do with all those kneeboard short cut controls that only FC3 a/c have maybe?

Think I nailed it down now. For the third time now I deleted out the Su-25 and Su25T folders from my Users\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input. Then manually remapped all my controls for both Su-25's. All is working again, but something must be bugged with the save profile as/load profile feature in the controls section of the sim. If I save the .lua for the controller that has the controls of the kneeboard and then load it back in again the problem comes back. I use this feature quite a bit especially when setting up a new plane to see how it works best for me. I hope they get this fixed. Resorted to taking pictures with my tablet so I could use that to quickly remap. Never happened so far tho on anything but the Toad and Frogfoot's kneeboard controls. 2.0 Alpha seems to be doing same thing, but haven't worked with that much yet.

Was a bug from the eshop or something. Fixed now.

Nothing? I tried to use kneeboard today on a server. Only key that will work is the one that turns it on and off even though they are all mapped correctly.
