Bottom of your left DDI is a default place where all "Caution" and "Advisory" codes will be displayed if needed. If you want to know which malfunction or condition will trigger what, you can search for "A1-FA18AC-NFM-500 NATOPS POCKET CHECKLIST" on the internet. There is a list of all things that can go wrong, how the jet will tell you about them and what you should do to make it to the supper in one piece ;).
  2. Wroblowaty's post in Outside Air Temperature in the Hornet? was marked as the answer
On Engine DDI page (SUPT/ENG) you will find "INLET TEMP" row indicating temperature at engine intake. While you are airborne and your pitot heat switch is in AUTO position, pitot, static and AoA probes heating will be automatically on, unless there is a malfuncion of WoW system. For engine heat, as Foka said, you do not need to put it on unless you receive INLET ICE caution or you are about to climb through icing conditions.

Have you tried to TDC depress while designating target with ATFLIR?
