  1. Not really, the ST21 was supposed to use GE-129 engines, much more powerful than the F401. An F-14A with the F101DFE engines might have similar performance, but the F401 had basically the same thrust output as the F100 that it was derived from IIRC, and is just overall worse than the F110-129 (perfect example of this being the F-15EX top speed and acceleration performance vs F-15Es with the F100-229, same thrust output (in theory) but in practice the F-15EX goes faster and accelerates faster).
  2. Not so easy since I would have to completely redo the wing station/tail fairing model to include that. Doable, but last time I tried it started having export issues, never could quite make it work. Since then I lost track of the original blender file for that model, so I'd probably be starting over from scratch. The current model has some issues of its own, so I may eventually go back and redo it, but for now it will stay as-is.
  3. I'm not sure it's worthwhile since the EX doesn't actually have the MAWS system installed, they just left the fairings there since they were essentially converting F-15QAs on the production line. I imagine if USAF doesn't decide to integrate MAWS on the F-15EX, the fairings will go away when production really gets going.
  4. Still working on this? I might be able to help.
  5. On a side note, apparently all you have to do to get 22 AMRAAMs on the F-15EX is hang AMBERs from all four CFT stations and triple racks (like the ones advertised for the LM F-21) under the outer wings! This is insane!
  6. Well we've got a bit of an issue here - apparently the F-15EXs aren't going to be carrying CFTs on a regular basis. https://www.twz.com/no-conformal-fuel-tanks-for-first-f-15ex-operational-units This means almost no air to ground weapons (yay, makes my life easier) and less fuel weight than the F-15E. So I'm considering splitting the EX this into two variants, one with more AG capabilities and one without. They will still use the same model for now, but the AA version will be lighter and have less drag (to simulate flying without CFTs) and the AG version will be essentially what currently exists, but converted to Su-25T avionics to allow for precision AG weapons to be used. Thoughts?
  7. According to "Pako" Benitez, the maximum speed on record for the F-15EX is Mach 2.493 at 50,000ft. That's still pretty fast, especially compared to most modern fighter aircraft. In theory it might have a high enough thrust to drag ratio to go faster, but the FCS is limited to 800 knots. If you disable that, then it's a matter of thrust to drag ratio and inlet design. If you can keep the intake airflow subsonic at higher Mach numbers and if you have a high enough thrust to drag ratio, then it should be able to go faster. But you also have to worry about airframe heating due to air friction at those speeds, something that the F-15EX is not likely designed to handle. Speeds like that probably aren't realistic for the F-15EX airframe. It's not made of titanium like the SR-71 or anything. Mach 2.49 is probably fast enough. But yes the F-15EX mod does simulate the extra thrust from the GE-129 engines. The engine model is different too, borrowed from the F-16C (which also has the GE-129). It should perform better than the PW-229s in the Razbam F-15E.
  8. I had no idea this was in development until now, but I'm glad to see it. I thought my first WWII module would be the Corsair when it comes out, but now I'm not so sure.
  9. Highly concerning, I was looking forward to this jet.
  10. Drag and drop this into your F-15EX folder and overwrite. That will fix the issue. I'll update it in the mod upload as well. F15EX.lua
  11. Oops, I must have commented out the AIM-260 on that station by mistake. Easy enough to fix, you can expect an micro-patch within a few hours.
  12. @Sérvalpilot I could actually use something like this for a mod I'm working on. Is it to the point where you'd like to share it yet?
  13. That's a possibility I suppose. If I remember that right, the Unusual Weapons mod is just a loadout mod though. I would run a DCS repair if I were you, it's possible there's something else interfering with it.
  14. No issues here on my end. Latest Open Beta, AIM-200 and cockpit show up just fine. What other mods do you have installed? It could be a mod conflict of some kind.
  15. First of all that's not my mod, I just provide a link to it. A recent DCS patch may have broken it and the developer hasn't fixed it yet. I can have a closer look at this sooner perhaps.
  16. This looks like a decent Sparrow II model: https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/aim-7-sparrow-missile-1685626
  17. The F-14 should be able to carry it just by modding the F-14 LUA file itself. That's how the AIM-152 mod works. However, that doesn't work for the glass cockpit jets like the Hornet and Viper, you have to use the replacement method for them.
  18. Will be great to have this thing in place of the AH-6J that came before...
  19. Well in the case of the F-4, your mileage may vary. Not sure what to say about the F-14, it's an official module so I would think it would work if anything would. Odd issue to have that they don't hook to the cat.
  20. That is true, the Venom is longer, but the AB412 is similar, and it has a 4-blade rotor system IRL.
  21. Any plans to expand on the AB-412 and add a UH-1Y engine section and nose? Would be greatly appreciated. The UH-1Y is essentially an AB-412 with reworked exhausts and a FLIR turret under the nose (aside from all the internal changes).
  22. Nice! Love to see that we've got a Flight I Arleigh Burke incoming! ED should put you on their payroll Admiral, your ships are amazing!
  23. Good to see you back @Hawkeye60! I'm definitely interested in re-working this thing.
  24. Version 1.71: small update with AIM-200 Peregrines added. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3332944/
