  1. if you have the mod installed you should be able to tell us whether it has the extra thrust although I don't think any F-15 can do mach 2.9, that takes more than an engine upgrade to survive
  2. if the official manual is any indication the wing tanks SHOULD drain before the centerline tank...in desert storm there was at least one engagement where eagles punched their wing tanks but retained the centerline
  3. yes it should be done right or not at all, so many projects come out nowadays where there is clearly no love behind them
  4. of all the missing features the SIT page (datalink) I would trade the rest for without a second thought
  5. mcdonnell's previous jet is eagerly awaited by many around these parts, if that's any indication
  6. There are two categories of CFTs in existence for the F-15, fuel-only tanks (with missile hardpoints to replace the ones on the fuselage) and bomb-rack CFTs. You can most often see Israeli F-15's carrying the former, US Eagles based in Iceland would often carry them as well. the E and EX carry the latter
  7. the charts exist for the E without CFTs with both -220 engines and -229 engines, and they're right next to the charts with CFTs, but we are straying a little bit. I would agree with the general notion that the two-seat Eagles handle differently but it's not a completely different jet either. I mean the flight model changes every time you fire a missile or drop a bomb this isn't some impossible task
  8. Hard to say. the F-15C has a great deal in common with its little brother the Hornet, but not as much as the Mudhen
  9. the -220 F-15C's engines are more powerful than the -100 A's under nearly all conditions except static on a test stand and the -229 engines in the F-15E are (much) more powerful still. You can tell by the relative acceleration of these aircraft at a given weight on their charts I don't know what it will take for this information to become widespread but here you go https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/f-15e-strike-eagles-now-flying-without-conformal-fuel-tanks-on-air-defense-missions without those bomb racks the -229 F-15E has performance in the realm of the Typhoon IMO
  10. the reason the USAF never used the single seat F-15s to drop bombs is because the USAF was uniquely positioned to have a bomb truck superior even to the phantom and dedicate it solely to Air to Air, no other air force could afford this including Israel which bombed stuff plenty with its F-15As and Cs. the USAF at any given time had phantoms, f-111s, f-16s, A-7s, and a plethora of heavy bombers
  11. You can easily put the Eagle into a flat spin with split throttles in a stall, although I haven't tested to see if full rudder/opposite stick will induce a stall
  12. in addition to this your cockpit altimeter is often different from the infobar altitude
  13. if not a FF F-15C they could at least address the plethora of issues in the current F-15C
  14. During the prototype phase for the F-15, one Eagle landed with the stick's roll linkages completely severed. The pilot didn't even notice. With the CAS system operational, the F-15 is effectively partial fly-by-wire, only the ailerons are exclusively under pilot control
  15. friendly reminder that the F-15A-D had tremendous ground attack capability from the very beginning
  16. I see the # 300hp thrown around a lot with regard to the P-47's boost lever and I think this is a misinterpretation. The manual actually says the first stage mechanical supercharger costs the engine 300hp. This cost is whether the turbo is involved or not. Therefore let it pay do its job without further reducing power by increasing engine back pressure with the turbo. The manual does not say Turbo = -300hp, such is a massive oversimplification null https://www.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/13kq9dg/p47d_boost_lever_mythbusting/
  17. Bizarre that every other ED jet when put into altitude hold (or attitude hold), clamps onto that altitude and holds it like a rabid dog, except the F-15. Not only that but I absolutely remember it working perfectly in Flaming Cliffs 2, what happened?

    F-15E vs. F-18C

Ah it's cool seeing the F-15's gyro gunsight even if it is a growling sidewinder video
  19. There's also the fact that the F-15A/C had as much or more air to ground capability as the Phantom built into the jet or the F-15E without CFTs has performance rivaling the EF-2000 but if the USAF never used it that way certain developers feel that video game players also shouldn't be able to use it that way. Thank God for modders
  20. well I'm sorry you got killed by someone with a poor connection but tacview only exacerbates inaccuracies caused by high latency
  21. obvious latency issue on the part of the hydro-mechanical jet in question
  22. Was wondering why my AMRAAMs were going dumb on long range shots and realized the DLZ calculation will let you shoot from beyond the 90 second AMRAAM battery life
