  1. Thanks so much for the info. Very informative and helpful.
  2. I noticed on the airport schematics that there are triangles to aid in approaches to the airport. I'm kinda confused as to where to get the coordinates for these triangles. For example in the attached pic I've highlighted / circled one of approach triangles. Which coordinates listed on the diagram page apply to this approach triangle. Any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance. null
  3. never mind....I figured it out. I went into the mission editor and made sure I selected the nvg option.
  4. I tried "Right Shift+H" and nothing happened. Maybe I don't have NVG installed? Is it a Mod? Thanks in advance
  5. Awesome. Will do. thanks for sharing.
  6. No. the heading was entered under CRS as shown in pic.
  7. Thanks for the replies. I know the ILS is on the correct freq from the info on the map (F10). I also know it is the correct freq because it is the same one used in the DCS ILS training video. In the screen shots you can see I'm using the same freq as the training video. I'm also coming in on the same approach heading as the video. As far as being in the correct mode, I am seeing the ILS bars appear on the HUD so that tells me that the ILS is on and looking for a signal. Lastly, it was just a free flight with no threats or damage to the aircraft. I'll try the headwind thing and see if that works. Thanks again for the replies!
  8. I'm a bit frustrated. After watching the online videos about using the ILS in the viper I can't replicate the results. I feel I've setup up everything correct but the ILS won't come to life. I've attached 2 pictures. One from the DCS video and one from my system. I'm on approach to McCarren and the ils bars are "dashed" and not responding. The ILS shows on, the freq is set to McCarren ILS. I know I'm missing something but not quite sure what. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  9. Update: I did a full blown reinstall of windows and Helios now works! However, after loading Loz's A-10 profile I couldn't get the binding working to my gauges. For some reason the export.lua file wouldn't work. Finally after reading alot of forum post's I tried using the export.lua from Capt Zeen's web page and boom! The gauges started working just fine. Hope this helps anyone who has the same problem.
  10. I have 4 monitors setup with a resolution of 7680 x 1080. The main view is 5760x1080 with Helios using the other 1920x1080. When DCS world 1.5 boots up the splash screen takes up the entire 5760x1080. As I tweak controls, modules, options from the start screen, I have to move my mouse across the entire 3 screens to access all the menus. Does anyone know of a way to control the resolution of only the splash/startup screen (i want to set it to only 1 screen at 1920x1080) leaving the other resolutions in tact? Thanks!
  11. I've come to love Helios and won't fly without it. My old Acer touchscreen broke so I bit the bullet and bought a new one for approx $350. I then upgraded my computer will new M/B, ram, and cpu. I installed a fresh copy of windows 10, installed all the windows updates and video drivers for my GTX 980i. Now Helios won't work. The editor won't even start. The Control center launches, then crashes. I've read as many of the posts as possible and tried solutions that worked for others. But I have yet to find success. Can anyone offer ideas of possible things to try? Is anyone aware of any incompatible elements of windows, direct X, Nvidia or anything else that could be causing the crash? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  12. I've been playing around with my snap views and default 13 view settings by tweaking sever.lua snapviews.lua In the process I have lost the ability to use Rctrl + Rshift + num(x) manuver the camera around the cockpit. I still can use the numkeys to look around. Am I missing a setting somewhere? attached are my files I've been using: Also, where can I download the these files so I can restore to the original config condition. Thanks so much. Server.lua SnapViews.lua SnapViewsDefault.lua
  13. I want to program my TM Warthog joystick so that when the shift lever + DMS up command is pressed (the shift lever will be a modifier), the result would emulate a keyboard F12 key. What I'm trying to do is to use my hotas to center my trackIR. However, with DCS, there is no "center TrackIR" built into the commands available to program. I was hoping I could do this within the DCS software. Thanks for any help.
  14. Thanks so much. I can't thank you enough for the help you gave me by sending me your design. It was such a fun project.
  15. I found a used Hagstrom electronics board that I ran all the switches to. https://www.hagstromelectronics.com/products/ke_usb108.html
  16. Currently, I don't fly any other modules. I have six kids and barely have enough time to learn just 1 module. I'm hoping they come up with a f-18 module though.
  17. After a year I finally finished my cockpit! The funny thing is....I really haven't gotten very good at DCS A10C. I would love to join a squadron or fly online now that I have my cockpit setup. I had an older simpit but i was not too desirable. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=82666 So thanks to Jedi for the cad files of his cockpit.
  18. okay....that was great info. Helped me tremendously. Apparently, I must have deleted all the bindings. I simply re-downloaded the profile. I then checked the bindings and indeed they did exist on the original file. When I fired up DCS world everything came to life! Now I just got to figure a way to get my FPS up to a decent rate. The added load on my video card slowed the sim down alot. Even with everything on medium. Great help. Thanks so much.
  19. Ok. that is a relief just knowing that It wasn't my setup. Thank you so much for taking the time to help. I guess my next question would be where would I start to learn about binding everything properly. I looked at Helios website and not a lot there as far as documentation.
  20. thanks so much for the step by step. I haven't run Helios in over a year and just got a new touch screen so I am so excited to get it up and running with Helios. I am only trying to get Helios running with the latest version of DCS world. I do not use TARS. I still can't get Helios running after working on this for over a week. so I must be missing something. my question is, does the file in saved games/dcs/scripts/Export.lua get created on it's own? I followed the above procedure and never saw instructions on actually creating this file, so I assumed it must be created automatically. When Helios failed to work, I checked the saved games/dcs/scripts folder and noticed that there is no file in it. Thanks in advance. ***Update*** I just noticed that some of my older profiles work great, while the newer profile I just downloaded from Gadroc's website doesn't work. I'm going to upload a profile that does work and one that doesn't. The one that does work is called "Mikes_Helios" and the one that doesn't work is called "Gadroc A10C-Single Mon". For me, a bit of a newbie, I don't see any difference between the two. Again...thanks for any help. helios profiles.zip
  21. Thank you so much. Makes more sense now. I've been trying to get some of the newer Helios profiles to work with A10C 1.1.1.1 and they don't interface at all. I'm wondering now if that is the issue. Perhaps they only work with DCS world.
  22. I'm unclear and confused on the relationship and upgrade procedure of DCS a10c 1.1.1.1 to DCS world 1.2.3. As of now, I run DCS A10C v1.1.1.1. I have downloaded and installed DCS world 1.2.3. I noticed that a DCS A10C v1.2.3 module is available, but I have yet to download. I'm a little confused on how to go about getting everything upgraded to the latest and greatest. Am I correct in assuming that when I run DCS A10C v1.1.1.1, I am not running anypart of DCS world? Do I need to install the A10C module and uninstall v1.1.1.1? What happens to all my settings and configuration in when I go to run the module 1.2.3? I would love some clarity on how to go about this. Thanks so much. Mike
  23. Have you considered just using a set screw from the side to keep it from spinning? It should do the trick real nice. If needed for good measure, simple grind a small flat on the switch and the the set screw will "dog" onto the flat.
  24. MTFDarkEagle, I noticed the landing lights ship in packs of 4. If you want, I'll split the costs with you and take 1 of them.
