It seems this aspect/issue of the flight model has not changed... -
reported FCS applies pitch down with aileron only input with flaps
Tusky replied to Yeti42's topic in Bugs and Problems
Let me rephrase: 1) You land with flaps FULL 2) Once you are on the ground you switch to flaps HALF 3) You press T/O TRIM which should put you back to 12° trim 4) You take off I haven't performed any of the tests of the OP and mine was just a suggestion. -

Pressing the "T/O Trim" button once on the ground should be sufficient -
reported B/E Mag and BRA True (+ weird HUD Command Heading indicator)
Tusky replied to Tusky's topic in Bugs and Problems
Already pointed out some time ago: -
A triggered task which would allow an object to turn to a specific heading/altitude/speed unlimited or for a certain time. It would be good for carriers as a command to align them to the wind.

reported F10 map showing things that it shouldn't
Tusky replied to WirtsLegs's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
Still not solved and in addition to the OP, neutral static units show whatever option is ticked (e.g. hidden). -
resolved Tanker DL16 Callsign discrepancy/omission
Tusky replied to Tusky's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes, I changed the callsign after placing the unit... Thank you for the heads-up! -
resolved Tanker DL16 Callsign discrepancy/omission
Tusky replied to Tusky's topic in Bugs and Problems
Ok, I figured it out: in the AIRCRAFT ADDITIONAL PROPERTIES tab, the "Voice Callsign Label" and "Voice Callsign Number" should be manually set to match the flight's callsign. What I've noticed though is that sometimes the two Voice Callsign fields do match the callsign correctly (e.g. -2 and on) whereas sometimes they don't (most of the time, the leader). In the mission I am working on, the E-2D had it wrong (a default TO11) but the E-3A had it correct (Magic 1-1 > MC11). Shouldn't there be a consistency thoughout the units? -
Hi all! While creating a mission, I noticed that there's a discrepancy or omission between the tanker's callsign assigned in the Mission Editor and the one displayed in the SA page when EPLRS is activated in the tankers. When a KC-135 is involved: - Arco X-X >>> Texaco 1-1 (TX11) - Shell X-X >>> Texaco 1-1 (TX11) - Texaco X-X >>> Enfield 1-1 (ED11) When a KC-135MPRS is involved, no callsign is displayed. In the missions run from the attached files I used for testing, all tankers are shown as "donors" in the SA page. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Thank you! known issue No catapult launch inless in full afterburner
Tusky replied to bkthunder's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
This is what I do now. My post was only to highlight the fact that after the patch once you salute, the throttle get stuck in the throttle setting you are when you salute and you cannot change it. Once you are airborne, it becomes "unstuck". It wasn't like this before the patch. -
The MAV seeker is indeed slaved to the ATFLIR but when it comes to locking to a specific target, the MAV is on its own and will target on IR signature. It might be that the IR signature of the adjacent target is stronger.

From F/A-18 NATOPS 7.2.2. Normal Takeoff "Nosewheel steering is used to maintain directional control throughout the takeoff roll." 7.2.3. Crosswind Takeoff "The initial portion of the crosswind takeoff technique is the same as the normal takeoff." No mention of disengagement of the NWS. As mentioned above, NWS disengagement during takeoff in the F/A-18 is a bad habit imported from other platforms' procedures.

known issue No catapult launch inless in full afterburner
Tusky replied to bkthunder's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
To be a bit more specific: 1) My default setting is AB Detent OFF 2) Once I get the command to run up the engines, I go to MIL 3) I do my control checks 4) Salute 5) Activate AB Detent with the assigned button 6) The throttle gets stuck at MIL and I cannot move it to AB (I cannot even move it backwards) Once airborne, I'm able to move the throttle and the AB detent works as intended. -

Tusky replied to bkthunder's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
@Tom Kazansky Wasn't that issue solved with the last patch? I am able to salute in MIL...it's just that the throttle gets stuck there... I'm afraid they've introduced a new one... -
known issue No catapult launch inless in full afterburner
Tusky replied to bkthunder's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Hi all! Once on the catapult I usually: 1) go MIL 2) do the surface checks 3) salute 4) go to AB before the launch After the patch, the throttle get stuck at the MIL after I salute and I cannot move it to AB, The opposite is also true (AB>MIL if you fancy to do so). Does anybody have the same problem? Thank you! P.S. I have a button assigned to the AB detent -
I noticed this, too. I wonder if it's intended or not...

need track replay Ground effect - Super carrier
Tusky replied to flybull's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
What I notice is the tendency of the F/A-18 to flatten out the attitude (nose low - tail up) once flying on the ramp. It seems the aircraft is unable to keep the AoA in the groove and pushes the nose down. -
A keybind for the channel preset knob of the AN/ARC-150(V)-2 would be appreciated.

And here is when the S-3B is set to takeoff right from the runway/catapult along with an E-2D. As you can see the S-3B is superimposed to the E-2D...
