  1. Update EDIT: Further update regarding Virtual Roulettes - Due to difficulties with modelling the Macchi model which was previously planned, we are now switching to the BAE Hawk 127, which was used as a jet trainer following the Macchi's demise. Dimebag Virtual RAAF Roulettes Flt. Lt.
  2. What film?! I've been trying to find a decent fighter pilot movie but all I found was top gun, stealth and those silly iron eagle series. Would be awesome to have a full blown jet fighter movie.
  3. I was playing the FF5 dynamic campaign the other night, having never played either F4 or FF previously, and I've got to say, the whole thing just seemed alive in a way FC or DCS never has before. It really does feel like being in the middle of a full on air conflict. Although I haven't had much of a chance to really get to know it due to my inexperience in the falcon, it really did seem like actions had consequences as others here have said, and the world and AI reacted uniquely depending on prior actions. I haven't read this entire thread so I'm not sure if it has been mentioned, but is it possible for a DC to be brought online?

    ArmA III

Lol yeah. But wasn't it IDDQD and IDKFA, oh and of course IDDT.
  5. C'mon ED.... give us something to chew on.... This community is hungry for the next DCS, give us a scrap of info. :D
  6. If only there were decent HMD's with high resolution and 150+ FOV, we would be half-way towards a realistic experience of flight and immersion. Couple that with trackir and you are literally in the jet. Then bring out DCS.f/a-18 with a few more graphical tweaks just for good measure (even though it's perfectly adequate graphics wise ATM) and you have my wet dream.
  7. The Virtual Roulettes Formation Team are now recruiting! The Virtual Roulettes are currently recruiting, we fly the BAE Hawk 127 with a Roulette paint scheme and plan on also flying the Pilatus PC-9 once it has been modded by our team, this is currently underway. We are seeking motivated individuals who have a passion for formation flying. Currently we have 4 positions open for a six ship routine. We are not too strict when it comes to prerequisites, however there are a few requirements to be a Virtual Roulette member: Own a copy of Flaming Cliffs 2 Live within the Australia region (we are an Australian Aerobatic team, and ping requirements also limit this) Own a HOTAS setup and TrackIR Be able to attend practice sessions at least twice a week Have a ping of 100 or less Have decent formation flying and station keeping skills, or the willingness to improve Have a positive, easy going, and professional attitude. Above all we fly to have fun, and therefore we are not too militant when it comes to procedures and such. Just turn up, do your bit, and have fun. **Those interested should register an account at the VAAF Forums (Virtual Australian Air Force) and post a request for a tryout in the formation flying section in the Virtual Roulettes try-outs thread. From there a tryout can be organised where we will basically see what you are capable of and your enthusiasm for formation flying.** We look forward to hearing from you! Dimebag Flt Lt. 8. Well for the last year and a half I have been involved in formation flying in FC 1&2, however due to either outside commitments or trying to coordinate with international squad mates in different time zones, the teams I have been involved with never really made it all the way to having a full squad and a polished routine. This is why I am specifically sending the call out there to any Australian FC2 pilots who want to form an all Aussie formation flying squadron. I have atleast one other squad member and potentially a third who might want to be involved, both very experienced at formation flying (ex VBA and VTB members), most likely MUCH more experienced than me in formation flying, so these fellas would form a solid base for such a team and provide essential experience. We are potentially considering forming a Virtual Roulette team, which would most likely mean around six positions. This is all still in it's infancy and we are still forming so hopefully there might be a few Aussie FC2 pilots out there lurking here who are motivated to join and be part of an all Aussie formation fling team. I look forward to hearing from any prospective members! If you are interested, please create an account over at the Virtual Australian Air Force forum at http://www.vaaf.net/forum/index.php and post in the formation flying thread to express your interest and make yourself known.
  9. I'd beg to differ with that, a woman scorned as they say.
  10. IGN review of DCS A-10c, havent read it yet: http://au.pc.ign.com/articles/117/1177083p1.html

Yeah, looks downright awesome. My question is, what should we expect in multiplayer, as I couldn't see any info on that. One would assume they plan on coop, and the ability for your buddy to fly while you gun or vice versa, but I'm surprised there is no mention. I haven't checked the forums though. The graphics look lovely, and those cockpits are superbly modelled and rendered. Can't wait to see them in action. 2x 40x40km world seems a bit small to me, but I suppose in a chopper it's not as small, but still, it wouldnt take long to traverse that map. Good news on the DC.
  12. What's funny is when they mark it up by $300 and then give you the same % discount; cheeky b*****ds. Bottom line is do your homework and you can get some great deals, if your willing to wait a few weeks the right deal usually comes along.
  13. I say bring back the scratches but do them tastefully and realistically. In fc2 the scratches were highly overdone. I'm pretty sure I have seen them in several videos of cockpit footage of jets with bubble canopies and they are there, and as someone said they usually need high contrast to see them.
  14. Wow. Are you sure you didn't just switch off the engines by pulling the throttle back? Does the TM warthog do that?
