1.2.3 fails to install, assistance please Hi, I disabled the anti virus, downloaded the patch via the autoupdater When I opened dcs world still has ver 1.2.2.7570 Have run repair dcs and it checked local files, downloaded update, verified install, installed successfully - still got 1.2.2.7570 Have tried to run DCS installer as adminstrator, it flashes for a 'blink' and the game loads Still on old version any assistance appreicated flyingscotsman

I have bought/installed FC3 which goes into DCS World, I have removed MODMAN and all add ons, But since installation of FC3 on DCS World 1.2.2.2 the KA-50/A-10 take minutes to load from what were 30 second starts on flights I created ages back and have been fine. When they do eventually load the first few minutes is spent waiting for it to unfreeze and then find I'm in the air.... from a runway start I use Trackir and it will appear working but there have been moments when only the in cockpit view is available Definately a performance hit having FC3 installed I have checked my stick settings and cleared off any that could cause interferance. FCC3 is good but the frame hit is a pain

Cannot install 1.2.2 Hi, I have downloaded the updates from the website, Will not install over the previous 1.2.1.6228,,,can cause imported models to fail...or similar message Tried update, it checks files downloads, the says cannot install, previously terminated by user....no I didnt! So am I better off, logging the key's off both ka50 and a-10 uninstalling the lot then putting dcs world back on and starting again... Well whaddyo know, it installed after the 4th attempt using the update.exe from start menu as previously suggested here , THANK YOU Gents Flyingscotsman

THANK YOU To all who have patiently explained the install system, I finally got back to installing 1.2.1 today, when the penny dropped that you have to download the modules for each game, it did not take long to get both going...knew I was thick..but the original instrucion to uninstall and re-install did not mention further updates....ok I'm still thick ha ha THANK YOU to all who put these posts up flyingscotsman

Thank you to VIPER and all who have patiently laid out how to get this working. Don't know if anyone else had problems with dcs bs1 discs not installing properly, I bought the download version, a-10 discs work, and followed Vipers instruction to download the correct modules for each game, SORTED! THANK YOU

Agree with Kunter7 I tried again to get this going, now my BS1 will not load and gives an error that parts of the game are missing. I had this error about a year or so back, to do with the setup.exe, and autorun not working. So wiped A=10 & BS off and starting from the cd's =again. I have however got A=10C working and updated to prior to DCS World freepatch. Will keep it like that until I get BS1 working. Although I am very frustrated with the lost hours on this, I appreciate that the team have issued this is good faith and that it must be a disappointment that there are so many problems Would appreciate some more information from the team on how we proceed in the future. I take it we have to get back to DCS World update 1 before we can proceed further. Would like clear instructions on what happens if it does NOT work on installation Will be back, once I've got the basics working and thank you to all who contribute to helping us get going Thank you

Does the above work for the cd versions? Does the above work for cd versions I have the cd for A-10c and BS1 Have had all the problems you guys have. I have the bs2 upgrade in download format. So if I put the games on, and include the bs2 upgrade Do I install the previous patches? or is that a mistake Any help appreciated

Progress halted, does not work Hi, Well it looked like Blackshark would load up, I made a new mission, but when it tries to load, it fails with," DCS has stopped working, Ms trying to find a solution" and the game terminates Any ideas

Progress, of sorts Hi, I have installed DCS World, 1.2.1, then BS & BS2 plus patches, then A-10C. BS is recognised and inidcates no payment necessary, A-10C still has payment sign, I paid out for the CD's so is it registred again if I authorise/deauthorise? Thank you

I have not been able to get this working after installing 1.2.1 I uninstalled DCS World 1.2, unistalled. I had the same problem with the cd versions last time, but cannot recall the fix, I had to sign in somewhere to prove my cd's were valid Anyway, I have uninstalled my A10C & Blackshark. Then installed DCS 1.2.1,On the last attempt it came up with there is ANOTHER update, I elected to install it. Then put the cd's in, and after that update to Blackshark 2 and all the updates to A10c 1.1.1. After Blackshark installed I took a look at the folder structure and blackshark was scattered over the Eagle Dynamics folder. So currently uninstalling blackshark yet again and trying once more. Blackshark appears as paid for in DCS, a10c has the icon to buy. I have not deactivated anything. The cd's take an age to load and I've done this about 3 times now If the current update /install does not work I will deactivate, then uninstall and install again. Not the way I wanted to spend my day off. Brilliant sim when its working, Not much fun during these patches

Hi Badger 66, I followed the instructions in Tom Wiess's download and have tried to add the one liner to the graphics file, but I am denied the access. VFSTexturePaths { path = ".\\Bazar\\TempTextures"; path = ".\\Bazar\\World\\textures\\23rd TFW Tigers Europe1 by Tom_Weiss"; Just taken the graphics file out to another folder, edited it, with the above ANDI IT WORKS...!! Thank you Gents for your assistance, Its been a real bind all day, but thank you for your assistance. I've moved so many files around and I've probably thought I'd already done this. This is not going to be fun to add all the others, I was going to ask if they have to be duplicated in each of the games, i.e. ka-50 skins into ka-50 too, but that seems to have answered it. Orange a10 Hi again, This is a copy, attached, of the screen. I am putting the folder in c:/Program files/ DCS World/Bazar/Liveries/A10C/23tfw by Tom Weiss Description is currently True for as I have had trouble with DCS World in that it will not allow me to change the file in the game. I have been copying the description to another folder, editing it, and putting it back. Does not seem to have worked thank you flyingscotsman

The plane's there...the skin is not Hello again, I did as suggested and changed the true's to false, however although the new skinned aircraft appears in the list on the mission editor of A-10, the skins are replaced by bright orange skin...for three separate attempts with three separate skins downloaded. Also, where it mentions in other areas that we should put the dds. files that are provided with other skins, i.e. the SimHQ No logo, a free training skin provided by a sim magazine. The dds. files are supposed to be put in the world/A-10C, folder....I cannot paste into that folder. This has only happened I think, after the installation of DCS World. Has anyone else got this problem? Thank you David

I changed the lua as you suggested, it appeared! with the incorrect skin, but that's my fault for using the wrong file, I'll do it again with another one and Im sure it'll work, thank you, So I just make the change in the DCS World, which is the master folder and it should work, thank you again for the swift reply flyingscotsman

Thank you Joey45 Right we're almost there, turns out I used a skin that never worked properly, always went bright orange! However it appears and that's half the battle. NO idea why the lua file should be the wrong way rough, but I now know where & roughly what I'm looking at. THANK YOU sir flyingscotsman

Hi guys, Ok I've downloaded DCS World, Have my ka-50 an DCS-A10 working But my old skins have disappeared I have read the above, put the Flying Razorbacks skin folder, from the DCS-A10(that I had) Into DCSWORLD/Bazar/liveries/A10C/DCS A-10C Flying Razorbacks. I have found the description file, but it looks the same as the others and yes it's 'true' at the end of each line....so it should work! What have I done wrong? Thank you - flyingscotsman

At the rist of being a pain - Thanks to Viper for advice regarding TMS UP - I finally got it working, both the keyboard and the Hotas Couger have a timing issue with the key press, they seem to want a firm press to activate, yes I got the LGB tutorial to continue, I missed the target, but at least after a few days of frustration I have got past that part of the tutorial, I have dcs-a10 1.1.1 installed so will pass on the 1.1.0.8 update to the tutorial, I will go back to the NAV tutorial where I had the same problems as MURF7413, Seems to me to be a key/timing issue on the hardware, blimmin pain to sort. But will bash away at it. THANK YOU

Done it! Hi Ataliaa1, I did get the other disc from Amazon. But it did exactly the same thing. Then I remembered a problem I had with IL-2 disc. Instead of putting the disc in and letting it auto run, I cancelled the install when offered and then ran it from SETUP.EXE in explorer. This time instead of a fairly rapid install, it took a about 20 minutes longer the disc hummed and stuttered its way around my disc drive, so it was really doing somthing, I installed it in the main advised place for win7, not in programmes. Thats it, it worked! Had a fly round, set up some unsuspecting mi-26's and got zero points for blue on blue... Still getting some things back to normal from my install of Win7, but that's small stuff. So thank you for sticking with me on this, knowing that there is someone to bounce idea's off helps a lot. The pc is a new one made by DOTCOM systems, family shop in DURHAM uk, Athlon 64bit II 3gb mem, 500gb hdd, 1Tb external storage (extra) nvidia 450GTS card. Runs FSX fine with all the stops out, and DCS stuff with head tracker - including silly hat, so you can low level the A-10 and get below the trees, done that in a helo a few times. nice. I was retired, from the RAF some years back, but due to the slump, pension has gone down too much, so its full time in a call centre for me, odd shifts, but its money in the bank ha ha So THANK YOU for your help sir, so much appreciated David:):)

Bought replacment cd Hi, I deleted C++ and then downloaded from 2005 version & updates off the Microsoft site, after installing the basic 2005 version, Win update brought the rest down for me and installed it. I had also run CC Cleaner after the Win7 install to get rid of anything lurking about. So fired it up again, no good - as soon as a few bars of music play, up comes the white screen saying OGVPLAYER dll's and LUA'S not found, training files not found, exactly the same error. So I have ordered a replacement CD off Amazon, just in case its because a file is not loading properly. So thats a new install of Win 7 & replacment of C++ During the update from MSN the Nvidia driver I could not get working, came down and worked, If the new disc does not work,,,,,I'll have to be the one that cannot use it, great shame because I loved it when it was working & there are not many helicopter sims, and NONE of that quality. But thank you AtaliaA1, your A1 with me for assisting with this. Let me know if you think there is anything else I can do, odd being the only one who cannot load the game on a basic set up! Re-install....still the same Hi Atalia1 Have done a re-install of Win7, still getting updates off the MS website as I write. Installed the game, just the same. Then found your mention of the c++ issue. No problem - we are all human and I appreciated the assistance in any case. Question, will the re-install have updated the C++? Looking at the dates the last was 15/6/11 so thats a no. Will let my current MS updates run through, get Exporer 9 back on and wait for your confirmation. Once again Nvidia will not load and so I have the original update that came with the PC 4 months ago.(so that could be an issue) Will get back to Nvidia on that and keep you posted. Just a thought though, if the training files are missing, could it be a duff disc. I had a bad set of FSX discs last year, used to take 6-7 hours to install, Amazon replaced them and they went on in an hour or so. I'll have a word with Amazon and see if they will replace. Thought you might say that Hello Atilia1 Thank you for the time, In regedit the only thing I deleted were files at the end of strings for KA-50, Not any folders for any other type of file and the problems were the same before are as now. Having seen the problems that some have had with C++ on this game do you think much of my idea on that side? Appreciate what you are saying, but isnt it strange that I had no problem with it in it's default location, I moved it because the majority of posts say its the wrong location, it worked fine, then the next day it stopped working and then it has never installed correctly since, what could I have done to start his off - no idea. Will just check with my pc maker a question on re-installation, or will it 'repair' and then I'll probably get on with it on my next day off later in the week, depending on if the car's going in the workshop.....if it goes wrong round here , then more than one thing will go wrong, but at least the Good Lord's got me a job so I can get things done and this is a game, brilliant game from the sensation of hovering etc, but a game nonetheless. I'll take the opportunity to thank you for your time and assistance which is very much appreciated. But it's late now and I'll get off for now THANK YOU David

Tried re-install Hi I brought a backup copy of the file across from my backup drive, deleted the original files and copied the files across, no change, Game starts music plays and we see the KA-50, then the white screen saying: ..Dynamics\Ka-50\bin\Stable\lua-ogvplayer not found Blackshark\module\metraining.lua:15:module no file..\luagui\ ogvplayer no file..serial no file socket and a load more like that referring to the ogvplayer, sure is a stopper! I was going to uninstall and use a licence up, be about 4 or 5 now, but the deactivator said the licience was still valid, and don't think this is the problem so did not deactivate. any help appreciated....re-install win7, going to lose a lot there! Just a thought though, I see that the previous problem I had could be solved by update of the C++ program, could it be that this is what has got corrupted, If I delete my current C++ from programs, and get a re-install from the MS website, could this perhaps change things? Any advice appreciated Thank you David

No difference really I have rolled my system back to May and re-installed Black shark, (The nvidia graphic update did not work and I went back to the ver270 that has been fine so far.) After the restore I re-installed DCS BS and : Exactly the same problem, start the game you get music nice screen and then a white screen comes up and says no file, ogvplayer and a list of files referring to the training module and the ogvplayer. I do not get a request to insert a key at any time, but according to DCS site this is because its on the same machine. As this has made no change I will now restore my PC to about 3 days ago and hope that you guys can help. Still like the game though Thanks David

Thanks for assistance Hi The game has not crashed, yes you are correct it just won't load. I took the files off regedit because in ye olde days I was taught that if there were more than one set of files of the same type, i.e. run_ka-50.exe then there would be a conflict and it would crash/fail/ or somthing of that type. No I have not tried a recover to an earlier time, I don't suppose that would hurt - wouldhav to be a month or so, when it was running fine in c:\programx86 That'll teach me to follow everything that the internet says about not putting things in there, the only reason I moved it. Have also this week had a problem updating the graphics card, and nvidia have asked me to clean the drivers out, re-install from safe-mode and install the new driver. I will Uninstall the game and then re-install it after the new graphics driver is done. If no change then I will rollback a month or so and see if its any better. ok But not looking forward to a re-install of win7, Thank you for assistance David
