I found this the other day and although i'm sure some of you slightly more dedicated flight fanatics have already seen it I thought I would share for those of who have not. What are some decent (hollywood) movies centered around Modern Air Combat other than Top Gun ?. I know there is a thread about movies,but no where within that thread did I find a movie that has a underlining basis on aircombat.

I do at times and other times I don't. For example I set up a fast battle planner with a Su-27 at very far distance. Not knowing where he was at I would turn my aircraft in un planned directions with radar scanning between 40-80 nm and 17 - 36 altitude I actually got lucky and picked him up on radar with help from TEWS showing me his direction. I played a second round now I know where he was at exactley. I fly direction flip radar on I cant pick him up for nothing. he actually flys directly on nose and shoots me down.:doh: when I knew exactly where he was at. If it wasn't for TEWS I would have been in a sitting duck. Radar plays trick like that. I beleive I have a good understandign of it but it is as if it chooses when to work and not. Sorry for being noob, lol

Well I do,but if they are BVR by lets say 25nm I am not going to have any idea what altitude they are flying at,what heading they are on and how far out they are without those two pieces of information finding a bandit on radar would be a needle in a haystack. It seems rather unlogical/realistic to run 5-360 degree turns scanning the air space up and down...OR is it ? idk. But if that is the best method in that situation my first answer was left un touched wich is after sklewing my target designator it wont let me adjust altitude on the radar....

(LOMAC modern air combat) Hey guys when I slew the target designator in the F-15c it locks me from being able to adjust the altitude of the scan wich i'm sure is a bug and frustrating as well. What can I do to fix that ?. Recently I have been trying to engage bandits without labels. If i'm not flying with AWACs the only way I can think of locating their heading would be with the TEWS,but some aircraft do not show up like the IL-76. How am I supposed to lacate their heading in that situation ?. Again im in the original Modern Air Combat. FC lags on my PC.

I'm sorry guys I have yet another new comer question that may be due to my lack of the search bar (wich I looked can't find). I was wondering what flyable aircraft mods* (*USA FA-18/F-16*) if any are their for the original LOMAC,and where I could download those,hopefully from a safe website. A lot of you will probably tell me I need to upgrade to FC/FC2,but I have it and decided to keep going with LOMAC cause FC2 lagged even on LOW,LOw,Low,low settings.

That's what I did this time without taking off. He flys his waypoints. If I select him no waypoint he goes to airfield and lands. I cant form with him to difficult. I need the cpu to run him beside me. I also cannot give any commands that show any response.

1) In Mission editor how can I set up a wingman(s) to take off and follow me wherever I go. I set a friendly one time and he never even took off. Just drove around the tarmac. lol

Yeah I have been using one airframe the F-15c. I got take off down to a T. Landing Is pretty good just have trouble with air speed every now and then. I like doing random stuff like jettison the tanks,wepaons,and ejecting is so awesome lol. Now im just having trouble with the AN/63 Dopplar radar. I can't get a bogey in it for NOTHING ! ,even if its right in front of me. I mess with the altitude scan,the missile I have ready,the asimus (spelling),and the distance of the scan (10,20,40,80,160 nm I think) and CAN't get this chopper in it for any thing so that I can lock it. If somebody can give me some tips on this thing cause I can't figure it out and why it wont get me a bogey on its scanners.

Im moving along at a snails pace. I still have no knowledge on the little nit pick things. Wich is the # 1 reason I like the game is for those little details. I don't want to start endles threads asking about the benefits of this or that or how to do this or that. There is no provided manual that comes with the game except a install and uninstall booklet,and the ingame tutorials lack on so many levels. Seemingly skimping on the protein of the things you can do. I love these forums but, even little things like carrier landings are hard to find even using the search this forum tab. I heard there was a manual someone said "you failed to read page 240" etc etc where is this manual and or a complete guide on this game guys.? thanks for help I know this is soo noob but getting aggravated tying to uncover alot of stuff. more work than play it seems.

Sorry MOC was meant to be Modern Air Combat (the fist disc required for FC2 installation) My specs..get ready (it's not top o the line) Windows Vista - Amd Athalon x2 7750 dual-core Nividia 6150..nothing special just a slimline home computer.

I bought the platinum edition and dcided to fly MOC and get used to controls etc before installing FC2. (mistake) Now heres my problems: #1: Framrate on very low settings (FC2) are equal to framrate with max setting on MOC. I don't see a magnificant graphical/terrain differance between the two for this result. What can I do to help this issue. #2: Im using a mouse to control head movement in the cockpit and the sensitivity is way too loose for my comfort. It was good in MOC but,in FC2 I got a bobble head pilot...how do I adjust that please. #3:Thanks for any help. Hope to fix so I can get online after I get good.

Yeah thanks for the help alot of that worked. I figured alot of it on my own last night as well.I will install FC2 but I wanted to get famalier with the game in general. I like for it to become second nature before I even plan on taking this online. lol

(Vista) Hey I bought the Platinum edition. So far I only installed the first disc wich was Modern Air Combat. Aside from having issues with Runtime errors. I had a few annoyances that are driving me nuts. :joystick: #1: I'm using a keyboard and a stable flight is very frustrating. It's not a bug but, more like an adjustment to favor keys rather than a joysick. Im constantly having to counteract every pitch I make. Can I solve this #2: How do I setup a mission in the editor so that I can warm engines then take off to complete my mission.? I like the idea of scrambling aircraft like in a surprise attack. It seems to only give me the option to start "Very Low" for example. #3:How do I give commands to my wingman ?..is that possible ?...Thanks for all help.
