There's a fast appearence of some coordinates 34° 56'46" 069°15'54" --> this is the location of Bagram AFB near Kabul-Afghanistan
There's a shot of the gun camera of the F-4E Phantom

So those are the "hidden" big news??

    AFGHANISTAN and F-4E Phantom

  3. Hi to all!!!

That's my last work for the mighty Blackbird

    Livery for VSN_YF12A v2.7.5.02 MOD

SR-71A #61-7972 is on display at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA. From 1991 until September 2003, #972 was in storage at Washington Dulles International Airport in a building specifically constructed for this aircraft. There, it was under strict surveillance by National Air and Space Museum representatives, who regularly adjusted humidity levels to ensure the best possible preservation conditions. This aircraft is no doubt the best-looking of the remaining SR-71s, along with SR-71A #976.

This aircraft holds many records that were set on 6 March 1990, when it was flown from Palmdale to Dulles in what was intended to be the last USAF flight of the SR-71. It also holds the New York to London record of 1 hour, 54 minutes, 56.4 seconds set in 1974. You may have noted the Skunk Works insignia on the rudders of #972. After SR-71A #955's last flight on 24 January 1985, #972 became the Palmdale test aircraft. This aircraft's assembly started 13 December 1965 and was rolled out on 15 September 1966. #972 first flew on 12 December 1966 and over the course of 23½ years, it flew for 2801.1 hours.

well...  That's the nice thing about facts...  They aren't there for you to agree to or not...  It's simply what happened :).

You said that "Was ED trying to please the community at EVERY step...  and the community poking them with pitch forks.  At every step."

So thats not a fact, thats ONLY your opinion.

"Yep! Very true. And I'm just expressing my opinion on the matter to give ED this customer's preference on EA(F-18 good F-16 bad). If others are happy just being able to fly it thats a valid opinion too. I'm sure I'll end up buying both modules, I'll just wait until I know I'll be happy with their development state"

    For sure...  BUT...

Let me just tap out my thoughts on that for a sec and please don't take it the wrong way.

What really happened is they EA'd the Hornet...  And all was good for a while.

Then...  they teased the 16.  All was s till fine (I mean aside from regular unsettlement of the masses for sure 🙂 )

Then...  They mentioned that it's actually flyable and the flight model is pretty reasonable.  The flight model and 3d model guys were pretty well along with the hornet so had some time to work on the Viper so they did...

That's when it all went haywire.

The COMMUNITY demanded that the F16 be released in ANY state...  as long as it has a half decent flight model, an Aim-120 and MAYBE even an Aim9 of some sort.  They roar of the crowd chanting VIPER VIPER VIPER was deafening.

The crowd plomised (<-- 70's show reference) that if ED would just release the F16 so we could fly it and just get a glimpse...  they would just stay quite patiently until the F18 was done or very done but for sure they would be quiet and server operators could just not put them in the servers if it was too OP and unrealistic...  All these things were plomised by the community in an effort to convince ED that they could safely and without repercussion...  release the WIP F16.

I'm sure ED saw a few $$ also...  That may have nudged them a little... sure...

    But then...

    They did it.

After that the community that was Pro 16 went absolutely ape crap and then started demanding that the F16 be worked on a feverish pace with no breaks, drop the 18, no holidays, NOW, NOW, NOW!!!!1!1!11!!!!ONE!!!1!!!!

    NOW!

We got SCREWED!!!  Will ED EVER complete this stupid viper I paid for after demanding that I be able to pay for it WAY before it was finished and WAY before the prior module was finished???  WTH ED???  W T H?

    So...

ED moved a few devs off the 18 to please people.

Then...  The pace of Hornet development slowed down a bit.

Then...  The F18 crowd started saying "hey wait...  The crowd said they wouldn't do this...  what happened to the 18???  ED forgot about it???"

Then it went...  "We got SCREWED!!!  Will ED EVER complete this stupid Hornet I paid for that I bought before the Viper was even ANNOUNCED???  WTH ED???  W T H?"

    So...

Then ED moved the devs back to the 18 (not all of them mind you) so they could try to make it right regarding what they had done and what the community had plomised to NOT do.

    So...  What REALLY happened...

Was ED trying to please the community at EVERY step...  and the community poking them with pitch forks.  At every step.

So...  Yes ED learned from the communities lack of honor AND their own mistaken belief that the community would uphold their end of the deal and wait patiently.

Now...  We have people starting the same stuff regarding the APache.

I've got no love for someone who gives ED "too much" grief on this subject.

    WE made it happen.  US.

    You and me sir :).

    Sit back.  Relax.

    Ed makes WONDERFUL sim planes.

    Be patient :).

I'm so sorry, but I dont agree to this

I did not want to participate in those discussions any more, but as this thread seems, unlike the other threads about that topic, rather calm and rational, I would like to give my final 50 cents about it.

Everybody knows about early access and nobody expects a 100 % complete Viper.

But as this game is about competition, what you would want to expect is a module that is competitive, like the real life counterpart.

Nobody wants a race car released with 3 wheels, but instead of the engineers addressing that issue as quick as possible, they are working on everything else, but not the obvious issues, leaving the race car behind and inferior.

Taking a dogfighter aircraft on a dogfight server, not able to lock on or to turn with other aircraft, it should be comparable with, is rather frustrating.

Here are a lot of grown up adult players willing to commit their time, learning an aircraft, but with the F16 its just no fun seeing it break more and more, and not getting fixed. Thus spending less and less time with DCS in general, eventually not buying other modules either.

I also dont understand why ED would be surprised about the simulation community's reaction the DCS F16s current state, being the most iconic and performance wise most well known aircraft, that was starring in many other simulations too.

And finally, the DCS F16 is the only jet module that currently has a serious "competitor" out there on the market, people are willing to migrate from, to DCS. Why does ED not understand that ED was expected to deliver with the DCS F16. And now ED just does the opposite.

    Totally agreed!!

    Personal Add:

Meanwhile the Viper's update still motionless, they add mi24, apache and anything else.

So, like Darkman222, I dont understand why ED would be surprised about the community's reaction the DCS F16s current state..

I mean, I find it understandable. They're trying to get the Hornet 'finished' and once it is then work can be kickstarted on the Viper. I see a huge amount of progress on the Viper happening over the next 6 months. I just think... it isn't magic, they've got limited resources and budget and they're doing the best they can, so... patience 🤞

I find understandable to publish a plane with half or less of the capabilities that it should have, meanwhile push forward to new things.. I mean, it will look much better if they finish the Hornet, then publish the Viper.
If you had bought the Viper, you would probably understand.
But if you only bought the Hornet, I understand that you don't understand this frustration.

Nice to see how much progress is made on the Hornet (bit selfish here because there's lots of tech that will be transferred to the Viper next 🙂 soon™)

On the Viper in 2023, maybe

Meanwhile, we have the HyperHornet (Best Dogfighter Ever - Best Bomber Ever) and if you're flying the Viper and you're dogfight against it, the only thing that you can use to save your plane is speed, until your fuel is out.

    I'm just kidding 😬😝

  10. Ciao a tutti!

    Grazie!!

  11. Hi to all,

    I'm Jack from Verona, Italy.
This is my first post on this forum.
These are the links to my fictional liveries for F-16C Viper.
The liveries are adapted to F-16C in the best way that I can. They're the replicas to the original RF/F-104G based in Verona-Villafranca LIPX during the cold war.
    Hope that you enjoy!
