  1. I haven't figured out a pattern for mine but I intermittently get stuck on the "wait for pooled tasks - 1" during loading. It seems to be happening more frequently over time. Did you ever find a solution?
  2. What is the best way to maintain the "swap file" to avoid periodic crashes and bugs?
  3. I finally have the answer I've been looking for. Ok, I understand why there is no easy answer to my question. What I'm trying to accomplish requires mission "persistence". There is no mission persistence in DCS unless a main DCS .lua file is modified to allow it. The mission scoring system does not accommodate for persistence. In other words, you can play a mission and get a score that will either push you back to the same mission (score of 49 or less), call a draw (score of 50), or allow you to advance to the next mission (score of 51). What I'm trying to do is to create a mission where the first time you run it, the mission begins at the beginning without any options to start at other points in the timeline of the mission. You then play until certain timeline checkpoints are encountered. The next time you start the mission, you will have the option of choosing various checkpoints to begin the mission at. This requires "persistence". I have created a workaround for this. Every mission in the campaign that has alternate starting points will begin by presenting the player with a question, such as, "Is this your first attempt at this mission?" if they answer yes (using the F10 menu), they will be presented with various tarting point options that will be triggered using the "LOAD MISSION" function. The trick to making this work (thanks to Baltic-Dragon's help) is this: 1. Create a folder in your "/Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/Missions/Campaign/en" with your campaign name on it. 2. Create alternate versions of your missions each starting at various points along your timeline. 3. Place the alternate versions in the campaign folder you created. 4. Create a campaign using the Campaign Builder in which you only insert the initial missions, not the alternate missions, all of which start at the beginning of the missions. 5. Save the campaign in the folder you created. What this will do is only show the main missions in the campaign list but the alternate versions will be present behind the scenes and can be loaded from within each mission.
  4. I think you’re right. I changed my OC settings and now it works. Thank you!
  5. Please help. I don't know what to do. My game keeps crashing and I can't figure out why. It was working fine a week ago and now it just won't work. I attached the log file here. dcs.log-20230213-230313.zip
  6. Here is my Log for the same issue. The mission starts and about 15 seconds later, it freezes and then goes to black screen. Help!! dcs.log-20230209-180745.zip
  7. No. I am still working on it. I have joined Baltic-Dragon's discord channel and have presented the question there. He is busy working on other things and said that he would answer the question as soon as he is able. I will post back when he does.
  8. Can someone explain how the developer of Raven One was able to create a mission in the campaign where you can choose to skip ahead to a different part of the mission without having that second version of the mission show up in the campaign mission selection menu? It seems that that alternative version is somehow hidden. Just for further clarification and for the sake of saving everyone's time, I am not asking how to create a mission in which you can "load" another mission using the trigger system. I am specifically asking about how to accomplish this in the campaign builder and have the alternate forms of the said mission not show up on the list of missions to select from in the campaign menu.
  9. Hello Baltic Dragon,

I love your work.  Really enjoy Raven One.  I have a question that only you might be able to answer.

How did you make a mission in which a player can choose to skip a portion of the mission once they reach that point of the mission at least one time?

Here is what I am trying to do:

    1) Create missions "X" and "Y" where X is the mission preceding mission Y.

    2) Also create Alternate versions of X:

         a) Xa = same as X but mission starts with message saying "use F10 menu to skip to WP3".  Create an F10 menu trigger that will load mission Xb.

         b) Xb = shortened version of mission X which starts the mission at WP3.

    3) Player plays mission X and reaches WP3 in mission X.  A message pops up saying "the next time you play this mission, you can skip to WP3 at the start of the mission".

    4) You play mission X but do not get enough points to advance to mission Y.  When you go to the campaign menu, you see mission Xa available but do not see mission X, Xb or Y.

    5) You play mission X and get enough points to advance to mission Y.  When you go tot he campaign menu, you see mission Xa and Y available but you do not see mission X or Xb.

    Thank you in advance,

    Rami

  10. I'm wondering if anyone can teach me how to build a campaign that contains missions that are not visible or selectable on the campaign menu. This was accomplished by the Raven One campaign developers but I can't see how they did it. The idea is to have a point in a mission where once you reach it, an option will be unlocked that will allow you to skip that portion of the flight the next time you play the mission. However, you should not have this shortened mission available to select as a separate mission on the campaign menu. To clarify I'll use the mission "X" and "Y" as an example. 1) I create a mission called "X" and the next mission in the campaign called "Y". 2) Once you reach waypoint 3 in mission X, a message pops up saying "The next time you fly this mission, you will have the option of skipping the previous portion of mission X". 3) I create mission "Xa" which is the same mission as X except that a message pops up in the beginning of the mission saying "You can skip ahead to WP3 by using the F10 menu". 4) The next time you load the campaign, you see mission Xa on the campaign's mission list, not X. 5) I create mission Xb which is a shortened version of X, missing everything prior to WP3 and starting the aircraft in the air at WP3. 6) Once the player selects "skip to WP3" in the F10 menu, mission Xb is loaded. 7) If you acquire enough mission points in X or Xa or Xb, the next time you load the campaign you will see mission Xa and Y available but you will not see mission X or Xb available. This seems to be what the Raven One developers did. How?
  11. Can anyone please help me with a question? I am creating a campaign and would like to be able to allow the player the ability to choose to begin a mission at a different starting point once they have reached said point at least one time during their first attempt at the mission. I know how to use the spacebar or the F10 menu to allow the player to start a mission from within the game. But, how do I imbed missions within a campaign but not have them show up as missions to select from on the campaign menu?

  13. Hello. I have done everything I can think of and nothing has worked. Me and my brother tried to play a multiplayer session last night using the voice chat feature and everything we tried failed. We were able to get as far as having our voice be recognized by the system as evidenced by the Microphone Test bar moving back and forth when we spoke but he could not hear me and I could not hear him. We were on the same radio frequency as well. Another detail that may be a possible issue here is that he is able to create a multiplayer server and I can't. There is something blocking me from being able to create a server that is visible to others in spite of everything I've tried. Could this be the issue? The other question is could the ping number have something to do with it? The ping for his server was 95 - 100. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  14. I agree with both of you. There should be an option for "all" weapons and "specific" weapons. However, the main wish here is that "moving zone" functionality should be expanded. Another useful function for moving zone would be destruction or smoke in moving zone. Imagine that a trigger is setup to cause the aircraft assigned to the moving zone to explode in midair. That would be awesome. How do we get DCS developers to pay attention to this post? It doesn't seem like anyone is listening.
