Googled "Differences between M2000C and Mirage F1"
Two different generations of fighters. The Mirage F1 was a direct successor to the very successful Mirage III and it was an improvement in almost every regarding. The F1 was successful in it's own right, a true multi role platform but the Mirage 2000, especially in its latter guise, was a world class 4+ generation aircraft.
The F1 had tradition mechanical control and the Atar 9k turbojet engine. It has superior maneuverability and a shorter take off and landing run due to its swept back wings as oppose to the delta wings of the Mirage III.
The Mirage 2000 also has a delta wing but due to its fly by wire controls its able to offset many of the limitation of its delta wing and Snecma Turbofan engine is heads and shoulders above the F1 turbojet.
But it's really the different avionics suite that tells the story. Modernized versions of the 2000 are equipped with the Thomson CSF doppler multi target radar. Other than AESA…..that's as good as it gets. I believe the 2000 can carry most, if not all, of the precision weapon in the Western arsenal. So there really no comparison between the two. The F1 was as good as it got for its day but it's really a 3rd generation fighter that was never really modernized. The Mirage 2000 has been a premier tactical aircraft since its debut and its upgraded versions are as good as almost anything flying.

Are they older/younger versions of each other
Love the 2000C - simple but effective A2A

I would make missions but there's no learning the art of not having the AI wingman fly with double the AOA as human players in the same conditions.
Don't really pay attention to how the AI acts.
I always see the human as having the advantage and like to push them by adding different problems sometimes by just adding an extra plane. The Human has the ability to respond with better tactics or new tactics altogether.
So, the ideal is not that the human always wins just barely but that you sometimes win and sometimes get overwhelmed. And have to improve.
Always have to know that there is a range of skill that means some very skilled players will handle this easily - so no perfect mission

Tried the 2.1.0.6002 Patch
No problems
Never mind :dunno:

:lookaround: Time to buy another DCS Module  and wait on more MiG-21bis content :drink: :weight_lift_2:
I went through various droughts of DCS content by learning to do missions with randomization
Now I do more mission editing (and testing :pilotfly: :joystick: ) than just flying
I had done only A2G stuff but was happy enough with the M-2000C to tackle learning Air-to-air and creating missions for A2A. Good plane.

Tried it again - seems to be working again
I did remap some of the frequencies but will test again later on the latest 2.1.0.6xxx patch

MBot has a dynamic campaign for MiG-21bis - MiG-21Bis Dynamic Campaign: Guardians of the Caucasus
https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=136618
User files show 2 campaigns
Filter for single mission gives some pages of content
More simpler - I created a mission that has 8 missions in it with 3 or 4 enemy types per mission
(28 missions in total)
MiG-21bis Kutaisi Runway Scramble - MULTI-MISSION
https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2647444/
This is NOT multi-player but single-player where you start at the Kutaisi runway and wait for 1 of 8 air-to-air mission types
Your opponents will be varied Russian & Iranian fighters (F5E, MiG-21, MiG-23)
The AWACS Radio will give you the air-to-air mission type as you wait on the runway.
Restart the mission to get a very probably different task and opponent - Random enough to keep you busy
It has really honed my A2A skills in the MiG-21bis - would have given up the MiG-21bis without it
Started creating a campaign now but no estimated time - I prefer to make mission packs
I've already made a few A2G missions for it (in the User files) with some randomization of targets.

Currently using 2.1.0.5677 NTTR
Tried to get responses out of Home Airbase ATC and AWACS with MiG-21bis in a mission I was building
Using Easy-comms & Frequencies were black and did not change
Set up an test mission (attached) that tested AWACS and ATC
The F-KEY responses were white but there was no responses from AWACS(E2) or Home Base (GroomLake)
Swapped in the Su-25T and got the correct responses
Went back to my mission (MiG-21bis Escort OP Hunters) & swapped in a MiG29S and got the correct responses
Swapped the MiG-21bis back in & the same non-response

With a lot of testing and a lot of improving my own MiG-21 skills, I finally have finished that Multi-Mission mission
It is NOT multi-player but single-player where you start at the Kutaisi runway and wait for 1 of 8 air-to-air mission types with varied Russian & Iranian enemy fighters (F5E, MiG-21, MiG-23) as your opponent.
The Radio will give you the air-to-air mission type as you wait on the runway.
Restart the mission to get a very probably different task and opponent
I am not much of a air-to-air fighter. All my other missions have been ground-pounding in the A-10A, Ka-50, and Su-25T. The few missions I had created for the MiG-21bis had been air-to-ground as well.
I had bought the MiG-21bis mainly for its lovely cockpit and not much else. But then I picked up the M-2000C; not as beautiful as the MiG-21 but had lots of good avionics and warning systems and pretty good missiles so that I enjoyed A2A for the first time and then decided to created that original M-2000C Multi-mission. Lots of opponents and different types of missions - no one & done for me.
The M-2000C was more capable than the MiG-21 so I had to do a lot more testing and tweaking with the MiG-21bis to get enough action and variety. I reviewed the missiles and jamming devices and got a good variety
I learned a lot. Now onto other things for the MiG-21bis

Good work on this - never thought to use the beacons except for landing
I tend to work on CAS missions as well and use the kneeboard a fair-bit.
But if you have a list of Waypoints, you can use a screen of the briefing to list the Waypoints and directions - very much like a mission card
A simplified Mission Card might be done such as:
Kobuleti depart Runway 70
turn to 260 (WP1 at Waters Edge)
Turn 180 to WP2 at River Intersection
Turn 177 to WP3 at Enemy camp
And you might want to take a look at older Mission Cards
- have them shown in the briefing as well
And I also use supporting spotter with flares - using F10 Options and Flare triggers
But I definitely need more recon photographs and model pictures for identified targets
There are also discussions on this with
https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=139370
And samples of A-10 Mission Cards
https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=61044
Thanks for this

BETA Mission to test
I have created a Beta for testing the opponents that the MiG-21bis might face
But when I started to fly, I realized I was not good enough with the MiG-21bis
My main Air-to-air has been the M-2000C which has lots of situational Awareness aids
So, I will need help in testing
This AWACS Protection mission is a random choice of the following flights:
Opponents are:
2 x Mig-29A (R-73)
3 x F-5E (AIM-9P)
4 x Mig23 (R-60M + R24R)
4 x MiG-21bis (R-3R)
You are a 4 Flight of MiG-21bis launching from the runway
Let me know of any questions you have or suggestions you can make
EDIT: Removed Beta

Did a little Wiki research - Iran (Islamic Republic of Iran) had some F5-E from the U.S.
Probably this - would like more opponents

I am working on a MiG21bis version of my Kutaisi MULTI-Mission A2A Scramble
- that depicted an early Georgian departure from the Soviet Union with Western Allied support
In the mid-80's, your French M-2000C lined up on the Georgian runway and you got
1 of 7 random missions against
3 or 4 different random enemy airframes (Mig-21, MiG-23, MiG-29A, and su-27 - with no extended range missiles)
M-2000-C Version https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2463568/ RUNWAY take-off
I'd prefer not to massively rework this - I'll just make the 4-flight of MiG21s Georgian scrambling I would drop the Su-27 opponent
But what would you want to see as an opponent?
Any other Warsaw Pact or Soviet allied plane (Abkhazia, Belarus, China, Insurgents, Iran, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Russia, Serbia, South Ossetia, Syria)?
Or maybe a fictional capture/re-purposed Western Aircraft - maybe earlier the Soviet got hold of a Western air-frame and manufactured a Soviet version prototype
MiG-21bis Mission Finished - see full message below

Finally uploaded the Multi-Mission Mission
M-2000C Kutaisi Runway Scramble - A2A MULTI-MISSION
RUNWAY START
https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2463568/
This is NOT multi-player but single-player where you start at the Kutaisi runway and wait for 1 of 7 air-to-air mission types - as ordered on the radio
Your opponents will be varied Russian fighters
Restart the mission to get a very probably different task and opponent
Not totally random but enough to keep you busy

Working on an multi-mission A2A mission for the M-2000C
- You start hot on the runway with a 4-flight and are randomly given 1 of 8 mission types
- Most missions you face an enemy flight (2-4 fighters) randomly chosen among Su-27/Mig-21/Mig-29A/MiG-23 with no extended range missiles
- there's also an CAP 2 flight that's aggressive off their CAP route
I have a random option where 2 of your flight are disabled (#3 and #4) leaving #1 and #2
Is it OK to be unfair with 2 Mirage vs 2-4 fighters? (but since you can try again, might be worth a shot)
How often should that reduced flight show up randomly?
[EDIT: Added actual mission]

Missions
Attached are 2 missions
KnifeFight_SP - single player F15C vs. F15C. Good place to start.
KnifeFight_MP - if you have a on-line friend, you can try this.
You start the mission with the fighters 9km apart - head-on
You are likely going to have to modify the mission; when I play-tested it, the enemy fighter had me locked up within 2 seconds and fired. You wanted them that close and that's what happens
Open the Mission Editor to:
- Make the flights closer or further (there's a distance tool)
- Change their weapons (maybe even make the fighters to have gunz only)
- Change the enemy Fighter from 15C to another type
Good Luck :pilotfly:
- Make the flights closer or further (there's a distance tool)

I have a multi-mission single-player mission where the Pilot is waiting on the runway for whatever mission is randomly assigned. It is set in 1989 with early - too early - Georgian independence and France sending the M-2000C.
I have chosen to pit the Mirage 2000C against mainly Mig-23, Mig-29A attackers
There is an occasional Su-27
For reasonable difficulty and parity, do I need to need to nerf the missiles?
Are there other Soviet opponents - like the MiG-21?
-
Is there a functioning Specularity texture for the Ka-50?
See it for the P-51 but don't know if the Ka-50 is fitted for that

So now that im gettin back into setting myself up with the warthog im haven issues..
1st.....Bought a-10c BFT and enemy within modules,no clue how to load them in with the game..I paid for them and have serial # but how in the name of god do i bind them/activate them..I see them in the module manager under campains with serial # but thats as far as i get..
If you see the Serial #, you should have the DLC
- From the Main Menu, select CAMPAIGN on the right,
- Under the Module list on the Left, Choose the A-10C and wait some moments while it loads the list of campaigns in the centre (under Campaigns)
- Highlight the Campaign and hit the button on the bottom that says NEXT
2ND...Thought i saw in a cpl place that the wart hog commands were loaded in the game automatically..I go into game setting and i see a wack of gobblity gook that makes no sence(no clue on how to read puter lingo)in relation that pushing this button mean such and such..
Up loaded drivers and software late last night but again im a dumbass when it comes to pc stuff and again..lost..
Keys & Joystick button - there are more than a few.
Keep paper and pen handy and start running the TRAINING missions
- From the Main Menu, select TRAINING on the right side
- Under the Module list on the Left, Choose the A-10C and a list of the Training Missions is listed
- start from there
Also when I am getting back to the A-10C, I repeatedly play the River Raider single Mission
- it has a mid-air start (no start-ups)
- I still have to do a few training missions on the following:
- TGP Targeting Pod AN/AAQ-28 LITENING=28
- Mavericks
- Precision-Guided Munitions
It gets me going.
For all missions, I use the automatic Start-up
- RIGHT_WINDOWS Button + HOME Button starts it up
- if you're still learning the HOTAS and other commands, in-mission you can hit the ESC button and scroll through the key and joystick buttons
There's nothing automatic but it's fun to master.
- TGP Targeting Pod AN/AAQ-28 LITENING=28
-
For the HUD only
Below the Left MFCD is the Day/Night toggle to change the HUD colours from green to orange.
One tool to help.

Had a slight hiccup. Unzipped it to but did not see it in my Campaign User TAB
I had loaded it into Campaign Builder, put some verbiage in the Campaign Description
Over the Hump (MiG-21bis version)
Dirty Rotten Flieger's Mig-21bis adaptation of MiG-29 campaign.
and did a File Save AS - it showed up right away
-
I've just started learning the MiG-21bis so my air-to-air is weak but competent with air-to-ground
Attached is a bombing mission in the Turkish mountains against some Georgian rebels at their River Camp. It's my first MiG-21bis mission but I've made many missions.
There are 2 versions - AIR Start and RAMP Start
Please let me know:
If too hard, too many targets or if not the correct load out or any other problems
Merry Christmas - hope you enjoy it
