  1. Sorry i should have specified. I got a lot closer than 9nm. 9nm was when i started the targeting. I giving him new instructions frequently, to the point where i was close enough to the target that they employ their 50.cals on me. Like with what i replied to the other guy i did in fact get a lot closer i should have specified my apologies.
  2. I could possibly be doing something wrong but i do not think i am in this case. The problem im currently having is that sometimes petrovich just will not give me any targets to select. I can get a track file or record for this at a later date but currently im about to go to bed while typing this. Setting: I spawn in on the 4YA PvE Caucasus server in the Hind. On this server usually you start hot (which i did) so basically everything is ready. I load the aircraft with 4 ATGMS and press CRTL + W to tell petro to starting getting the weapons systems ready. I get the message as i take of saying theyre ready. I fly out to my targets. We are about 9nm out from the targets and i open the petro menu and tell him to look in the targets area to which i see the indicator move to the location (the indicator that is also used as CCIP pipper when using rockets/30mm) after the indicator moves to the location it doesn't give me the usual list of targets to choose from and to make it clear these are 100% enemy targets. I've had this happen twice so far both times on the Caucasus map and both times in multiplayer. I respawned multiple times and did my normal procedure as i listed above and went back to the exact same area to try again against the targets and out of 3 tries not once did the menu work. After this i decided to spawn in a different location and attack a different location, this time i was attacking an airbase and menu worked and petro started to allow me to select targets as normal. I would also like to specify that i was not staying 9nm away from the targets, i was constantly moving towards them and giving multiple instructions to petro to find targets every mile that i closed in on the targets and even got within their firing range on their 50.cals with no response from petro finding targets.

  4. apologies haha i did not see the message posted by the other user but thank you for the confirmation as i am not very familiar with the Russian armaments just yet!
  5. Do we know if there will be gunpods that can be mounted on the pylons?
  6. I realised as i was searching for my new specs that the 1060 would be a hard bottleneck to the remainder of my system but i think i would prefer to buy everything else first and then save for a new GPU. I currently run at 1080p with only a 60Hz monitor but hopefully upgrading to a 4k 144hz monitor at the same time as upgrading my GPU, ive been looking into the new AMD GPUs that are to be released as they seem to be very promising from what ive heard so far but i dont think i will be upgrading my GPU until the whole job conundrum is sorted out as im currently out of a job so i dont want to go too overboard on spending just yet incase. I think once ive built my new rig im going to be able to hold out for atleast until ive finished college and have my apprenticeship so maybe another 5 or 6 months but thank you for the advice and feedback!
  7. So ive been playing DCS for a little over a year now. My current setup is a I5-6500 3.2GHz 16GB of DDR3 RAM unknown speed GTX 1060 6GB Ive been getting an average of about 20-30FPS when playing and i very commonly even drop to 1 frame for a few second which has been very annoying (dont ask how i have coped playing like this for a year i do not know myself lol) But ive went out on a limb and treated myself this Christmas. My new rig consists of: Ryzen 5 5600x (going to get it overclocked not sure what speed just yet) 32GB of DDR4 3600mhz Corsair vengeance RAM ASUS TUF 570x motherboard New SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS that will be dedicated for DCS as currently i have it stored on a HDD which may be the cause of a decent chunk of my problems But i am keeping the same GPU so GTX 1060 6GB I'm just wondering if this upgrade will give any significant boost to my performance? Im quite new to building PCs and dont quite understand all of the technical side of things and how everything works so sorry if ive made myself sound stupid but any information on the performance i can expect would be nice
  8. As far as i know, in real life the F-16 does not have an IFF indicator on the HUD which i agree is a very questionable design choice. The only way ive been able to identify between Friend or Foe during a dogfight in DCS is by doing flare callouts (asking a friendly to flare or if they have just flared) sometimes even this doesnt work as the enemy may flare at the same time but thats the most effective solution ive found so far.
