If you rearm with the hardpoint still powered on, the same seems to happen.

You can trim to zero. Check the special options.
I have a curve of 8 on a warthog in both pitch and roll. Two things that even gave me a rage quit on the first evening:
    - Figure out how the trim works. I went for the default trim option which requires you to recenter the stick and rudder after releasing the trim.
IF you go for the second option, be sure to recenter stick and rudder as soon as you trim or you might mess up trim so bad that the chopper goes full deflection to any given direction.
    - Don't go wild on the collective. If you are smooth on the collective, it won't require so much rudder input. With great power comes great responsibility. This is IMO the most powerful helicopter in DCS so if you add power, do it smooth.
  3. TobiasA's post in FLIR what will this mean for our beloved F16? was marked as the answer
Well given the fact that the current IR implementation struggles to pick up anything at night time when there are ideal conditions which only got better in the latest updates, I would expect nothing but a positive outcome with the reworked IR engine.
I mean, if I look at what I see with the Apaches IR sensor, and compare it with my TGP- wish I had the Apaches picture in my TGP.
I am not talking about the desert, I am talking about picking up something in the caucasus, little overcast but dry, 14°C. I highly appreciate the updated IR imagining and think it will bring a lot more realisms to DCS, together with a very much improved night ability in the F-16.

It is work in progress, but no time frame was given.
The original post got deleted because people were taking it as fixed dates.
I would expect something in Q2/2022 (just a wild guess). Q1 is probably a bit optimistic, it seems to be more work than expected. However, rate fights are a guns only thing. I absolutely love it in a real fight when my enemy goes into a rate fight because I can then throw everything in my turn, point a 9X, suddenly be low and slow with sufficient room for a 9X and have him at full burner against the cold sky. It is about nose authority, and the 16 doesn't really excel with that.
However,  they announced improvements on instantaneous turn rates and an on speed AOA correction for landing speeds. So we will most probably see an improvement there when the fight gets slow and tight. Sustained turns aren't too far off at corner speed.
    We will see what happens.
Threads about the FM are a bit sensitive tho, since they tend to escalate...
