  1. BINGO! >>>>Well, I guess it's one of those things where maybe you don't understand the subject because you haven't experienced it. I learn best OJT. Hands-on works for me. I can sit and read manuals/instructions/watch vids until the cows come home but it means almost diddly-squat to me. I gotta go out there and just do it. Learn by trail and error. i.e. baptism by fire. BUT....even so...I do glean much knowledge by the advice of the vets. I just have to take it into practice. I do appreciate your/vets time and efforts as well as all those putting up videos. I had been watching DCS video from various source for 2 or more years so I did know the FC3 modules were limited. Just didn't know how limited in working terms. You're correct, sir; I DO NOT want to use my brain so much getting to one place to another so "easy" FF and learning it is perhaps the best route. In short I am probably not so much different than anyone else in that I just want to get airborne, find & engage targets....kill, kill, kill...and get back home in one piece. Again....ty & Nicola for taking your time with me. It's appreciated.
  2. Ah, I see. Then I may consider getting into the real one. I just have not decided which sports car I want to drive. I like ground pounding so I do like the A-10. But I also want to get "prolific" in a fighter. I'm a Navy vet ADJ and wish DCS offered the F-4 which is what I worked on mainly in RL. Saying that, carrier ops is to my liking as well. So, I am considering an F-18. Hell, I dunno....I just may buy them all.
  3. Thanks guys! Taking it all in. Retaining it is the key. Once I get landing I start with other things. Navigation perhaps would be the next correct to take?
  4. "Simply, you can hit someone on ground, and there's no unlimited pile of tanks in base." Ahhh....I did not know that. Ok thanks. GOTCHA. TY.
  5. Not good practice to not drop empty tanks? THANKS! >>>>>"For take off, just rotate gently at 120kts, and hold 10 degrees pitch (the W symbol on HUD), and hold it there."
  6. I was bingo fuel so I could had dropped tanks, no? Thanks Nikola!
  7. Thanks GG - Well, just testing it out hence all the fuel. Using a new Logitech Extreme 3D Pro which I haven't yet totally assigned. Yeah...total noob at literally all of this. But, yeah "twist stick rudder". I will look into your advice for the rest. As for the capture video I jumped inside and out. It is from a replayed saved track. The actual "in-world" flight I was in the cockpit all but part of the apron/ramp to runway off and on. Then after the landing when I came to a full stop I jumped out again to see what and if I had damaged anything. The jumping in and out was just a replay video capture. But I get what you're saying. I find staying in the cockpit much easier to fly so that's what I do. Yes....the "technique", of which, I have none. I was just happy to get her down without damaging her or worse for once! But thanks for the advice. I will work on those. Will print your advice and have it on hand to refer to. EDIT: I am new to OBS also but I will follow what you said and try and do a TO video ONLY also with what you had advised. Thanks again, Bro.
  8. TOTAL NOOB HERE - I just got in the F-15. Yes, on TO mine wants to drift horribly to the left at about 125kts or so and it's extremely difficult to correct. So I just rotate to get up as quickly as I can but risking a tail strike. Not to my liking but will practice it more and see what I can do about it. As for landing it's been difficult but I *think* I've got it after cracking her up some 12-15 times. I approach flaps down at about 160kts/2 degrees, cut power and hit air break right before touchdown. Once down keep nose up and then when it down pump breaks. If you are lined up pretty well just don't use any rudder at all. I made a video just last night doing this <<This is a full unedited screen capture so excuse the length. DCS VETS any suggestions other than the fact that I could had dropped tanks?>>
  9. Thanks guys! It seems all is well now. What I did was delete all the modules except FC3.
  10. Thanks! Of course, it's at the bottom where the viewer is hidden! IT doesn't quite fit on my monitor. THANK YOU! But still all the FC3 aircraft are not showing up.
  11. Thank Rudel. But for the life of me I cannot find a "clock thingy" or anything that even resembles one or a "Historic Filter" button/icon or in the menus. This is getting frustrating.
  12. Noob here, obviously. After watching GCS videos for 2 years I took the plunge and got a computer that runs DCS. Dell Alienware R2. I just bought FC3 2 nights ago. I've been playing on a keyboard to get familiarized with the workings of the A-10A. I am waiting for a joystick to be delivered from Amazon. I live in Panama so it takes time. That said, I have to say that while playing with a keyboard isn't the easiest thing in the world it's getting a bit easier. I wish I could share my last mission flight I created just for practicing. It's hilarious! I was able to figure out how to lock on with sidewinders but missed the opposing A-10. But managed to take it down with my cannon. To my surprise I landed! So, I rearmed and did some bombing runs rather successfully....again to my surprise. Then I landed safely again. Sorta. This time, however I blew 2 tires, skidded sideways for a long way but stayed upright and doughnut'ted my way to parking. I was like; "WTF"?? I think I had too much fuel and forgot to dump it? I don't know....but I got a bronze star....for whatever that's worth. If you guys want to see this let me know how to share the miz file. Veterans may find it hilarious while noobs may find it encouraging. That is, IF I CAN PLAY ON A KEYBOARD ANYONE CAN! Yeah, I'd be interested in flying with you guys if you'll have me. I mean, once I get my stick. I do have Discord but rarely ever had used it. So, the learning curve with me is a challenge. Panama is EST and sometimes CST; we don't do DST here. 1900? Where? Europe or....? Give me an EST if you will? I'm semi-retired so I think it could be do-able. Nice to meet y'all. TTYL Roger aka Panama Red aka Drunk Mutt
  13. Thanks everyone beforehand. Noob here, naturally. I am hoping to fix an issue. If someone has had the same issue please, tell me if I'm on the right track. I bought FC3 but when I try to pull up the modules to make practice missions in mission editor I can only put the A-10A and SU-27 into "player mode". All of the other planes are missing or in the case of the F-15 can only add in any mode but "player". Should I delete each and every other module and just keep the FC3 file? What a pain in the butt to delete/disable each and every module not associated with FC3 having to restart for each and everyone of them. Not sure what to do. Thanks for any help/advice.
  14. Ah, ok. Thanks everyone. I am hoping that also it will fix another issue. If someone has had the same issue please, tell me if I'm on the right track.
