I had this same problem. It could be ED trying to "protect" players in multiplayer. Either for disturbing images (which could be in the briefing regardless) or for malicious full screen obstruction during PvP. The former can't be helped, and the latter would damage the reputation of a server/host. It could be that ED simply forgot to transmit the image to the clients. It would be nice if they added an alpha option, along with positioning (either x/y displacement, or center/upper-left/top-center/etc.).

I'm not sure what you mean. I opened the comms menu. Is this some silly secret, indiscernible yet different comms menu?

After getting clearance to land, it told me to talk to the ship via the normal comms menu. The ship never responded on the preset, nor didn't respond to the frequency listed in the kneeboard. Also I couldn't hide the stick. I guess I can deal with that if those are the rules, but it was a small disappointment.

I recently ran into an issue with trains not appearing on Caucasus. It usually happened on the first loading of the mission, but after quitting the mission and restarting they usually appeared. The mission had manually placed redfor trains, they only appeared when civilian traffic was enabled, and sometimes require mission restart to actually load.

There seemed to be a bug where the AI instantaneously knew of a TWS Phoenix launch and began evading; is that part of the patch?

I forget if it is an issue on the F-18 but it is on other aircraft (the F-5 comes to mind). Your jettison selector is on stores instead of safe. Try setting it back to safe.

There are different kinds of compasses. Some go 33(0) N 3(0), others go 3(0) N 33(0). It can be a little trippy if you use planes with both, as well as how they respond to banked turns.

For the F-18 you have Auto, Half, Full, so bind the physical lever forward to auto, mid to half, aft to full.

Troubleshooting these days can be a huge PITA; searching for any help makes you feel like you are browsing The Library of Babel. I'm sure there are some systems with software and hardware combinations that inexplicably are more of a hassle to figure out. Don't let franx dissuade you from getting a reverb. The extra resolution is divine.

Just looking at the server list available on the website here, there are only 134 servers that have more than 1 player at the time of this writing (assuming all servers are dedicated, so ones with 3+/XX player counts). Many are password protected and have integrity check enabled (two methods to restrict behavior deemed unwelcome by the server administrators). Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the multiplayer community an order of magnitude larger; cracking down on user modifications that enhance enjoyment isn't a good strategy.

Kinda odd that without any updates the package went from $30 to $50.

It is currently available as Open Beta. If you are on Steam, you go to one of the tabs under properties. If you are on standalone, it is a separate install folder. If you already are on standalone Open Beta, you go to the games directory "bin" folder and use the EXE for the updater.

Is this in menus or in a specific vehicle(s)? Some players noted that the Huey instrument panel has simulated shaking that is uncomfortable for them to view in VR (can be tuned in a vehicle file, IIRC).

The added resolution is likely worth it. I started with G1, but others I play with upgraded from Rift and others to G2 and they were blown away with the improved resolution.

While I cannot be certain of your issue, my G1 had a similar "screen off, head tracking and audio working". One of the steps I did to fix it was delete my display settings in the Windows registry. It seemed Windows was getting confused about which displays were active and it created a new registry entry for all resolutions, refresh rates, and display combinations; my suspicion is that the display is incorrectly flagged as asleep and there is no way to kick it awake otherwise. Delete and reboot items in here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\Configuration HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\Connectivity HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\ScaleFactors One other possibility: Restart the Spectrum service in Task Manager ("Spectrum - Windows Perception Service").
