  1. I'm having trouble figuring out the command steering, and the radio for the F16. Command steering issue; I don't know how to use it. SOMETIMES I input the ILS channel and it will be automatically selected, but if I try to set up a landing from scratch I can't turn it on no matter what I do. No condition seems to exist that activates command steering. Radio issue; It won't change to any other channel, none of the presets have worked, and I can't use the manual version on the left side. Basically all of the things that tutorials tell me to do don't work, and I'm beginning to get frustrated. I've flown the hornet in DCS for almost 2 years, and I haven't had really any issues like this. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  2. I'm in the process of upgrading my DCS set up. I don't have a lot of money available right now because I'm paying to get my pilots license, so I build all of my own stuff. Everything usually works great, I had one arduino pro micro running my throttle quadrant, and 1 for my F16 sidestick, and rudder pedals. My issue began when I decided to step things up so I can have a training aide. I gave the rudder pedals and toe brakes their own micro, and made a throttle and mixture knob box that just replaces my throttle quadrant when I want to fly a Cessna. I just unplug my big one for DCS and plug in my throttle/mixture box. All should have been pretty straight forward, my code has worked for months for the other controllers perfectly, I wasn't really changing much, just moving things around really. To be clear, this is my setup: F16 sidestick (Rx, Ry, 16 buttons) - arduino micro Throttle quadrant for DCS (Throttle, ZAxis, Rx, Ry, 8 buttons) - arduino micro Rudder Pedals (Rx, Ry, Rz) - arduino micro Throttle/Mixture knobs (Throttle, ZAxis) - arduino leonardo - I will only ever have this plugged in if I'm playing microsoft flight simulator. I guess I could state my problem at some point.. I'm trying to map everything, and nothing is making any sense. It's picking up 2 of the arduino's as the same one, and not showing my stick AT ALL. I can map my rudder pedals, but not my stick or vice versa. In MFS2020 I can map my sidestick, but then if I try to map the buttons it tells me that I'm trying to map buttons on a device that isn't selected... I'm beyond frustrated with this and I have no idea what to do to fix it!
  3. Does anyone know where I can find a 3d model of an F18 grip? I cannot find one ANYWHERE.. I want to build one because I just plain can't justify spending nearly $1,000 for one. I can use fusion360 to make it printable if I can just find one!
  4. I guess I'm probably just missing the Navy this morning lol, but isn't there an option in a few of these games to play as ATC? I would love to see an option to play as a plane captain in the line shack, or a maintainer in a shop. So much more goes on on the ground crew side of things, and I'd bet anything that it would attract some players. Aircraft failures could come from things missed during inspections; a mid-flight failure would seem less random if you can land and find the reason it happened. Ground crew would have to direct aircraft around on the deck, purple shirts would have to re fuel jets instead of just starting with a full tank, unless of course it was fueled at shutdown. The more I think about it, the more I come up with lol. With how advanced DCS is, adding something like this could turn multiplayer into an entirely new beast. DCS could simulate every aspect of military aviation, and make it cool as hell along the way!
  5. Aww bummer... Thanks anyway! I wonder if there would ever be a way to implement the maintainers side of things into DCS. Carrier ops for us was pretty crazy too lol.
  6. I'm new to this forum, so this is a new topic to me; is DCS ever going to get the E/F variant of the F18? I see people trying to give answers, but I'm not sure they are aware that there is a difference between the aircraft. Just curious, I worked on the Super when I was a plane captain in the Navy, so I think it would bee a cool addition for some of us. Picture included as reference.
  7. I want to build some panels for the F18. I have acrylic, plenty of tools, and plenty of time and know how, but I do not have clear plans or dimensions. I really like the one that I keep seeing that seems to be made specifically for the F18 in DCS. I can't find any kind of layout info on google after my 3 minutes of looking so I'm giving up and asking the internet lol. I included an attachment of what I'm talking about, but I'm open to any ideas.
