  1. Hello, During one of many sight-seeing flights over the South Atlantic map, I found some geological formation, that looked very nice form above, some kind of "table mountain". It's located in Argentina, about 15 km east of Rio La Leona river flowing between lakes of Lago Viedma and Lago Argentino. Unfortunately, I couldn't find name of this rock. I have uploaded an image from google maps. The coords are: 50°00'55.1"S 71°50'51.9"W Now I am building a helicopter base there Anyone knows the name of that formation?
  2. Hello I've created some simple missions for Hind to fly over Syria. What I needed was the Mi-24 livery for tuskish army. Since lack of such livery and my poor experience with liveries, I decided to modify the existing Iraqui livery. I used Gimp free software to remove old symbols piece by piece, and replace them with turkish flags and roundels. The livery is available here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uPkaQ6DUByjCtmHZLJKGwsm2s2ei8niJ/view?usp=sharing Also on my DCS account: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3323126/
  3. OK, there was some updates during last month, maybe they have fixed it. I will check it. Thanks!
  4. That's the point, if I don't turn the anti-icing on, I can do a hover take off with no problem. Thank you for your reply. Thank you for your advice, too. When I try to hover take off with the anti-icing system on, at some point the rotor RPM decreases when I increase the collective. Then it goes below the lower limit yellow bar and the AC generators stop working. So, instead of increasing the collective, I began a slow, slow transition to level flight and it worked. Is it possible to mark two replies as the solution?
  5. Hello, I have problems with Mi-24 hover take-off at winter. A few moments after my helicopter lifts off, I experience disconnection of one or both of AC generators. Disconnection of both generators causes autopilot to turn off, so I need to land, reconnect the AC transformers and restart autopilot dampers (yaw, pitch and roll). Rolling takeoff succeeds with no problem. I guess it's not a bug, but a real life problem caused by low temperature. Maybe there is another heating system to turn on that I do not know about? Maybe I need to wait a couple of minutes before increasing collective? No info in the manual nor the Chuck Guide. I switched on the engine anti icing and battery heating. I have attached an example track below. Mi-24 winter takeoff.trk
  6. Hello, First, I guess it may not be a bug, just something I didn't find a solution for in the manual. I have prepared a simple mission to practice attacking vehicles with ATGMs. First, I took off from Tonopah on Nevada map. Attack on targets involved many sharp 90-deg turns and when I finally returned to the base, I noticed a huge difference between HSI heading and standby compass (the one over the gunsight). HSI indicated about 330 while the standby compass indicated 270 which was correct. The heading on the Petrovich interface was also about 270. The marker on the moving map followed north-west heading, I guess it used value from HSI. All navigation devices were operating, and configured on startup and there was no wind in this mission. Is there a way to realign the HSI in-flight?
  7. Hello, I have created a simple mission - a pair of F-5s intercepting a pair of Su-25s with cold start at Kobuleti Airbase. But I was surprised that ATC orders me to taxi to the runway 25, no matter if I set the wind direction to 250 or 70 degrees (oposite directions). When I call the startup request, the ATC reports correct wind direction. The only situation when ATC sends me to runway 07 is when I set the wind's speed to 0 km/h. I have attached the mission file below. Please inform me if you need some trackfiles. F-5E Intercept Frogfoots.miz
  8. The Mirage F1 will be a perfect addition to fill the gap of 60s of 20th century. More advanced than MiG-21 or F-5E, but older than F-14. I will spend the waiting period on learning of AH-64 systems.
  9. In the CP/G cockpit, the "Store" button is on the "Left Hand Grip". You can choose between "store" - create new point, or "update". If the TSD screen is in the NAV mode, it creates a waypoint, if in ATK mode - a target point is created. Then you can slave to this point with the "slave" button on the "Right Hand Grip".
  10. That may be the point. Maintaining Apache in hover state requires significant amount of rudder left. When I take back the control, it's at the center point, so this definitely causes a spin.
  11. Hello, First, I would like to thank all of the ED team for this amazing module. It's really a pleasure to discover the Apache and it's features. Love it despite it's in early acccess. What I want to write about, is changing seats during the mission. I have created a simple mission to test Apache's weapons. First, I fly to the target area as pilot, and then, when I am about 3 miles to it, I switch IHADSS to hover mode and start hovering. When my speed is near zero, I switch to CP/G seat with [2] key. The chopper reamins in hover, so i don't need to use Geroge, Then I engage targets as CP/G. But when I switch back to pilot with [1] key, my apache immediately enters spin and the "low RPM rotor" alarm sets off. Only quick reaction with cyclic, collective and rudder pedals can save the chopper from crashing. Maybe I do something wrong, switching to CP/G while Apache is at untrimmed hover? But, as I wrote before, after I change seat to CP/G, my chopper remains in hover, keeps speed, altitude and heading.
  12. The escort planes fly a bit faster and move ahead of escorted bombers. They attack after detection of my flight, but I am not sure if they protect the bombers or themselves.
  13. Maybe it has something related to skids, the friction betwen skids and deck? On the other hand, I did not experience this problem with Gazelle. Mi-8 has wheels, so you can use wheel brakes. I have a track with landing on a Ticonderoga-class cruiser, if it can help, the same problem happens. UH-1 landing on ship.trk
  14. Thank you Ironhand, now it's really better. So the trick is to select bombers for escort and then reset the task to "NOTHING" wchich makes the fighters keep their heading.
  15. Hello I have created a mission to defend a SAM site against SEAD flight. Blue coalition has an AWACS support. Enemy SEAD flight has 3 Su-24s and spawns north of Mozdok, and also has an escort flight of 3 MiG-29s. The problem is that escort fighters, once detected by the AWACS plane, break formation, speed up and try to attack AWACS plane despite it's way beyond the interception range defined in "Advanced Actions". The problem disappears when I change RoE param to "Return Fire" - not a good solution, since I want the escort to be aggresive (against my Viper flight, not the AWACS). I have attached a mission file. No need to start up the Viper, the behavior of escort can be observed on F-10 map. I unchecked "Late activation" of Red Coalition planes for testing purposes. F-16C (Polish) Defend SAM installations at Senaki bug.miz
  16. Hello, I had the same problem with AI-controlled SEAD flight of Hornets, but then I figured out that all I needed was to move the proper waypoint (the one with Advanced Actions assigned) inside the SAM radar range. Otherwise they ignored their target and followed route to the next waypoint, no matter of the "Reaction to Threat" option. And I choose the ARM (Anti Radiation Missies) as the weapon for the SEAD flight.
  17. Thanks for the tip, I will check it today.
  18. Hi, I had the same problem, but with Gazelle:
  19. I can confirm that - after a duel with J-11, the enemy plane crashed into a small village building and suddenly a new multi-storey building erected. I have recorded this: It's clear that the village building had his 3D model swapped with a destroyed building, but of a wrong type.
  20. Hello, Thank you. Yes, they are made of paper. All parts need to be cut from a sheet of 0.5 mm thick paper and glued together. Canopies are formed from transparent PVC over a gas oven, I made myself a tool for that. From your avatar I guessed you are British, so I would like to share a picture of another of my models
  21. Hello, I have prepared a CAP mission for a pair of Su-33 taking off from the Kuznetsov carrier. Right after take off, the wingman starts reporting enemy air targets, despite they are 300 kilometers away. He keeps reporting until my flight gets inside enemy radars' range, then he reports "Spike, 12 o'clock" and stops reporting enemy contacts. But before that, there's no second of silence, the wingman talks constantly. UPDATE - does not happen after both DCS and Steam restart.
  22. Hello, I am "specialized" rather in paper aircraft models, than plastic ones, mainly because in my childhood times, 80s, in my country (Poland), plastic models were difficult to access, and paints almost inaccessible. But we had monthly periodic, titled "Little Modelmaker", containing plans of military vehicles, planes and warships. Even now, the Halinski Publishing releases very detailed paper models, konwn all over the world. Because it's the DCS World Forum, I would like to share a photo of my 1/33 scale models of Eagle and Flanker
  23. Is this bug still present in DCS 2.7?
  24. Funny thing, I noticed it too, but in A-10C II. And not just colored smoke, but also a smoke from burning vehicles, when they are in close groups. I thought it wasn't a bug, but how the FLIR works - an effect of heat from fire.
  25. Hello, In 2.5 or earlier version, when you switched to external view (F2) of a plane that is shot down and falls to the ground, you could see the moment of impact and the explosion for a couple of second, and then the simulation went back to cockpit view. There was a nice sound effect utilizing the speed of sound, when you heard the explosion a bit later after you saw it. In 2.7 version, at the same situation, the view switches to some different area just before the explosion. It's fixed now - disregard this post
