  1. 4k plus 1k… 5000€. Even though I could do it, I cannot justify it even for development and such purposes I use my kit for. With 4090, I am CPU limited, but I am thinking even my setup wont be enough.
  2. Thanks. Binary is there and didn't touch it . I reinstalled the whole show and seems that problems solved.
  3. As I’m well versed in silly questions, I have to ask as I’m facing some issues with Reverb G2 and the 2.9. Is MT part of this update and is the old bin MT that was used to run MT now surplus to requirements and could the be fully deleted? I am thinking there might be some interference that affects performance.
  4. I have done that and also used speed of the heat settings. Combo has worked exceedingly well. Well. I changed to a 4090. FPS, jumped up, jittering has reduced considerably and disappeared altogether on certain maps. Not given multiplayer a go yet. MT with 4090 improves performance considerably. So from 63-68 I'm now getting up to 80-90fps on the same mission.
  5. Here are a few links This is great. I used these settings and left it at that. Still working fine. Also have a look at items behind this link https://vr4dcs.com/
  6. Yes. Correct. Only the Shevretka, if even that, had rank insignia shoulder boards, perhaps wings and soviet coat of arms or alternatively a wings emblem on left arm. Flight suits usually had nothing, but some wore the Telnyashka under it, giving a distinct look. However I do agree. I must admit that the russian flag offends my sensitivities and I do not like seeing it.
  7. Tried the Caucasus map Mirage F1 Instant Action take off. 73-80 constant. No jittering or issues.
  8. After a few months of real world flying, I've been testing the MT flying VR with Reverb G2. So I was wondering what kind of FPS are you getting on your gear. I am consistent 63 to 68 FPS flying free flight or simple missions. Seems to be the same on AH64, Mil24 and F16. Previously CPU bottlenecked, but now I am GPU bound with a 24GB RTX 3090.
  9. After updating to 2.8, stutters are quite bad in VR. Not unplayable, BUT certainly not as much fun as it was before. Im thinking about rolling back to 2.7.
  10. Look. I am a real world pilot. Military, civilian, jets and helicopters. With DCS I have days and weeks like that. Over 17000 hours and counting, I figured that DCS should just be a breeze to handle, but it is not. Like any new aircraft type or a system you need time to learn its intricacies, especially as you treat it like a real world mission. Complexity can be astounding. Think about it this way. Real world combat pilot flying an AV8 likely has 4 years in academy studying general military stuff, or NROTC, OCS etc. These follow up Naval Flight School. NFS is split in distinct modules. Basically Aviation Pre-flight indoctrination, primary flight training, intermediate flight training and advanced flight training. After primary, pilots are split to the available platforms. This is followed by more training in assigned squadron. Air Forces around the world are not much different. You are doing yourself what people study for years under supervision. The learning never ends, checks and training, requalification for various weapons, procedures, simulator for flight, instrument, missions etc. DCS is hugely rewarding but it is not easy and can be as frustrating as it is rewarding. There a multitude of reasons for this, many software or simulation mechanics related. Preparation is half the job or more. Repetition is mother of all learning. But here is the thing. Fly with a friend online. If not an instructor, someone else for input. But more than anything. I doubt you suck. It is just an immense amount of info to cram and handle. Keep at it and don't give up. Let me know if you need a hand.
  11. I have some Mandarin ATIS recorded and that's it. Commercial ATC wont work as there are so many foreign carriers flying around that they spoil the atmosphere. Problem with any recordings are that one trying to bring a scanner into PRC is likely going to run into an issue. Anyone trying to record AF traffic and found out is going to find being slapped with an espionage charge. Governments from neighboring countries likely have lots of recordings for intel analysis, but these are probably classified. Sorry for not being able to help.
  12. That is pretty much what I am thinking as well. Wait and see.
  13. VR only. Reverb G2. Frame rates are good enough. As I said, I am currently looking at consistently being CPU not GPU limited. I've tweaked settings for NVIDIA and DCS based on what I have found from other users here on the forum and testing. I'll take some screenshots later. I will wait a while and see how it develops with multi-threading etc. Performance has dropped somewhat with stable update 2.8. I run both Beta and stable versions on my laptop and only stable on what I call the beast. VR only. That is what I am thinking as well.
  14. I've actually figured out that already, but I think it is worth a discussion. It seems that I am consistently CPU limited with DCS with good margin left on GPU. Alas I was wondering if there are any other compelling reasons to update from a 3090 to a 4090 than "I want one". I am thinking that until DCS introduces the long waited multi-threading there really is no need for that and that I would wait and see what comes up with the Vulcan and other changes. Any thoughts on this. My current specs are as follows. i9-11900K CPU DARK ROCK PRO 4 silent high-end Air cooler ASUS X570-P motherboard, T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 64GB 2x32GB 3200MHz Samsung 980 PRO 1TB SSD M.2 NVMe 5000/7000MBytes/sec Toshiba 1TB HDD RTX 3090 24GB Gigabyte Aorus P850W 850W 80 Plus Gold PSU be quiet!
  15. Thats an understatement. Try flying at low level 350 kias plus on a hot summer day. Banging is just amazing.
  16. Interesting. Did you try with mirrors removed and then toggle off with M key. Does that make a difference?
  17. It took me a while to figure that out… but as IRL, intercom needs to be selected. Otherwise you'll be talking to yourself, unless of course your aircraft has hot mike and thats connected to ground guy plug. This has led some very embarrassing incidents with pilots talking garbage in the cockpit with ground guy listening to every word. Works that way too. We use a simple procedure. Check switches and buttons, check mike and headset plugs connected, swap headsets (unless flying with a helmet) check CB’s. If all fails, open up and call maintenance.
  18. Not yet. Waiting for mine. But really what I cannot wait is that DCS introduces multicore. These are nice, but not. That is a huge performance drop in VR. I use it exclusively. Not monitor at all. Alas I will not be updating until issues are solved. One would think that multicore and VR support would be a priority. VR and AR are the present and the future with dropping prices on hardware and more available options. I like the platform a lot, but if we take a step back with new updates in performance, well not much to look forward to.
  19. With Ah-64 and Hind, I keep using wingmen with great effect. I find them useful especially in rather hostile environment distracting GBADS. Engage enemy air defenses is a brilliant command.
  20. DCS team is aware and working on a fix. Thanks for @BIGNEWY for info
