I have tried once and it works, but without RSBN is still not worth the wait.

The procedure is not in the game manual, and i'm not 100% sure, i was looking on the German AF manual i bought long ago, but it was not 100% clear to me there as well, IIRC i had to wait 15-20 minutes before flipping the switch to OPER, actually i think switched it when the NAV READY indication was lit. IRL there are some delays to apply if you switch from FAST to LONG align, but i haven't tested them.

Same here. I will try again this weekend.

In the GAF manual I think that the button below the HSI and the comp-zero button are only pressed for the fast align. Maybe Ive red it wrong.

  2. If I understand correctly, yes. Only eprls systems can be present in a SADL net and in our case in the TAD.

For the A10C2, with the proper implementation of the arc-210 and the gateway for the L16(TNDL) IA and human L16 equipped aircrafts (15,16,18,A10C2) as you said, can be present in the TAD.

Prior to the arc-210 upgrade (and the TNDL WiP) I don’t remember to have in the A10C (not the C2) a picture in the TAD with other airframes different of the A10C (no E3, 18…)

So I presume that it’s more a “core bug” due to the partial implementation of the TNDL that conflicts with the old EPRLS implementation.

  3. No. The gateway is present (WiP) in the A10C2.

The A10C (first version) doesn’t have an Arc-210 so no gateway is available so only the SADL datalink must be functional.

The bug is more related with the use of the eprls on/off code that enables or disabled the “datalink”.  When the A10C was launched it was a “standalone module” so no other DL was implemented.

Now we have 3 or 4 different DL and the eprls code now enables or disabled the DL “all of them”.

This is a bug report for the A10C, the first one, without the ARC-210 and the associated gateway.

MiG-21 no longer flies like a UFO now, which is great to see, but can still spawn flares from a different time/space continuum (when not equipped with its dedicated countermeasures pod) - this seriously needs to be fixed...

The flare and chaff quantities of the 21 are hardcoded in the lua definition files. No matter if equipped or not with the pod. They need to change the lua and change the code in order to make it consistent with the loadout. It has been requested from the beginning (2014).

Or make a duplicate entry of a “21 without CM pod” in order to have 2 versions (with and without the Yugoslavian pod) until the problem could be solved.

  5. Maybe it´s a "core related" bug instead of an A10C bug.

Premise: only SADL/EPRLS units must be present in the TAD page. No L16 or L4 equipped aircraft. So in DCS only ground units EPRLS equipped and A10C/C2 must be present in the TAD. ERPLS is an Army system, so it´s not present on airplanes AFAIK.

In the attached miz and track, if a unit with the "EPRLS" is ON in the "advanced waypoints", this unit appears in the TAD regardless the type of DL.

In the mission, an IA Hornet can be seen in the TAD if the ERPLS is set to on. It seems that the "ERPLS on/off" code enable or disable the DL in general (L16/L4/SADL/ERPLS).

If set to "ERPLS OFF", the Hornet is not present in the TAD. But the Hornet is prevented to use their DL.

EPRLS OFF Hornet NOT visible in SADL.trk EPRLS ON Horner visible in SADL.trk

  6. I think it’s a Heatblur “file adjustment” not an Ugra bug. Like on the M3 MiG-21bis navigation file, each new map needs a tweak of the nav file/code to add the new airbases in the new map.

I think that the code will be added/updated in the AJS-37 nav file in short term.

    Hello ED team,

I have a question or better said reminder. I did not see wings flexing due to G force in pre order video. Will this be added upon release ?

And if someone have information if A variant of MiG-29 had exterior ECM pods or something like that ?

No ECM internal or external or external chaff/flare dispensers. The internal ECM was fitted in the 9.13 in the enlarged spine.

  8. As @Volator said, in Kola for example there are/were 4 RSBN stations and maybe PRMG stations at the main military airbases. At Murmansk Intl for example, no rsbn or prmg must be placed.

In Sirya, PRMG at the main Russian airbase and at the main Syrian airbase near Damascus with RSBN collocated.

Sinai… well it’s a modern map so maybe it’s better to wait for the Rsbn functional object for the ME.

Data for RSBN can be retrieved as the system was used for civil flight (civil sims), PRMG is a military only system, so it could be more difficult to gather information.

As @AeriaGloria said, lack of Rsbn stations doesn’t restrict navigation.

  9. RSBN/PRMG work perfect in the ED L-39 module, even in not equipped “RSBN stations” maps you can fly using the Rsbn in “manual mode”. It’s the same system in the 29, so the basics are programmed and in place into dcs core.

Maybe in the long term, we’ll got a “mobile RSBN object” like the mobile tacan object.  RSBN stations are “mobile” per design. The object is in DCS core from KA-50 1.0 and Lomac 1.0.

  10. All the navigation data is loaded before the flight, so it´s not possible to create, modify or delete any navigation data in flight.

The 29 uses the RSBN/PRMG system, it´s more or less a "Soviet TACAN, Soviet ILS", but obviously not compatible. As you said only the 29 upgraded to NATO standards were fitted with TACAN, IFF, transponders, radios and other standard western systems.

  11. It seems that only the arc-5 is functional, using the 190khz frequency hardcoded in the Eesex.

AAR-2 and the presets… I think that it’s WiP and not functional in the carrier. Frequency range in the ME is outside the limits of the ARR-2 IRL.

I don’t have the module but I have an idea.. can you set in the preset tab in the ME a VOR frequency of an airfield (in the Caucasus for example)? Or set a unit transmitting a signal?

  12. After the DASA-MiG update after the reunification yes, alongside the OTAN compatible IFF, Radios and TACAN.

So yes but only for a 29G/GT
