  1. Well, you just completely missed the point of my post there, Rock.
  2. Implementing something like this in the way Rock has suggested would make combat really, really annoying. How do you handle load-outs in the system you are suggesting Rock? I for one and im sure im not alone on this don't want to have to re-arm as soon as I spawn on the ramp. You could program a whole new menu to create load-outs in-game before you spawn but that would be tedious for the user and would limit the vision of the mission creator, what if said mission creator wanted a senario where you had to launch during an attack and the ground crew didn't have time to fully equip your aircraft? Of course you can add something like a whole new mode, a free flight mode where what you have suggested is implemented but that just drives ED's resources away from working on the next module. I would rather those resources be spent on the next great module that ED is working on. The aerobatic community is still a minority here, this is a combat sim after all. While I appreciate your idea making mission creation more convenient for you, I don't really think it's practical or a good use of ED's resources for the foreseeable future.
  3. Your 2013 Virtual Blue Angels are pleased to announce the 2013 tryout season! We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified applicants to join one of the premier virtual aerobatic teams in the world. Everything you need to start the application process can be found on our website at http://www.virtualblueangels.com/.
  4. Man this thread was a good laugh.
  5. I'm sorry but this is a little ridiculous. You claim to have found the a fix to a problem you couldn't reproduce. Having to wait for the next release is just poor customer service. You have a huge number of people unable to use a key component of software that they paid for. This is completely unacceptable and if Eagle Dynamics was an American company I would report you to the BBB. An issue this large should be an immediate hotfix. I can not think of any other software company that has had this big an issue and chose to "wait for the next release" before fixing it. I'm at a loss for words. As the years go by that I use your software I am amazed you are able to stay in business with this level of tom foolery.
  6. Thanks! Forum is php driven with some java elements. We are working on it, but none of us are actually programmers so there is a lot of trial and error involved. Trying to get this done ASAP.
  7. For years we've struggled with an outdated, garish, yellow forum board that many of you are no doubt familiar with. As part of some truly exciting changes for the 2012 year, we've finally decided to trade up for a new forum! Our hope is that we can create a space that you'll want to use, too, so we hope you'll join us in breaking in our new digs. Ditch your old bookmarks and come make an account to get started interacting with VBA members and like-minded Blue Angels fans! Thanks for your continued support! http://virtualblueangels.com/forum/index.php
  8. See post in Community News.
  9. Definitely not complaining. I think this thread is in TLDR territory now, but if you're going to make a comment like that you should probably read it. Thanks for replying Wags.
  10. You have completely missed the point.
  11. I couldn't agree with this more. If I were a 3rd party developer working on a project and getting it to a point where it can be submitted to ED for licensing and I see another developer posting renders of every airplane in the encyclopedia as if they are reserving the right to it, I would be extremely deflated. This is exactly what prompted my concerns and exactly why it posted. From the outside looking in it looks like ED isn't providing enough oversight and control over what is going on with the licensing. To everyone who has wondering why it's a big deal and why people are so invested in this issue it's simple. I'll go out on a limb and say that a LOT of the users on this forum and that use these products have spent hundreds, thousands of dollars on pits, computers, controls you name it. When something like this is your primary hobby and you spend that much money on it, you are very invested in it's future.
  12. One can only hope, but given the direction and freedom it seems that these developers have, i'm not going to hold my breath.
  13. ED & TFC, I am a long time fan and customer of your product. FC1, FC2, DCS:A10C and P51D are among the elite in modern flight simulators. With all of the announcments for third party developers and having knowledge of the process and some projects in progress by various people I am concerned that you are giving licenses to, to put it bluntly, the wrong people and not showing any consistency in regard to quality and potential. From the outside looking in I can't help but feel like maybe favorites are being played behind the scenes in order to get these licenses. I fear that this approach is going to destroy the series that has given the PC flight simulation world two of the best study sims ever made (A10 and P51). Not destroy the quality we expect from the dev team at ED but rather destroy the reputation you have created from years of high quality products. You have created a platform of amazing potential with DCS: World, please don't blow it by allowing sub-par products to be released, you should hold third party developers to a higher standard than your own, and as of right now, I don't think all of them are at that standard. I really hope you can prove me wrong. For the record I have no project, I am not a developer, just a concerned customer.
  14. When Kato announced to us a few nights ago that he was going to retire from the Virtual Blue Angels he gave us each an opportunity to say a few words. I was speechless. I made this video to convey how I felt, as words could not do his contribution and friendship justice. It is with a deep amount of sadness that the Virtual Blue Angels announce the retirement of Bob "Kato" Tyler from the Virtual Blue Angels. Bob was one of the founding members of the team in 2004 and has been on the team since then. The team would like to thank Bob for his 8 years of leadership, friendship, and camaraderie. Without him, the VBA would not have gotten as far as it has. Bob, you will be missed! "Once a Blue Angel, always a Blue Angel"
  15. The models are not from FSX, the Hornet, A4 and F4 were made by current and former team members.
  16. Unfortunately we can not make out hornet cockpit available to the public due to an agreement we have made with members of the USNFDS. As the mod is not finished yet even for internal use, there are currently no plans to make a public version as the work required is tremendous. As for the Bearcat, it is too early in it's development to say whether or not we will release the mod to the public.
  17. What's wrong with the netcode?
  18. After comparing notes and doing some research, I have a feeling that the problem isn't with the client, but rather with the authentication server.
  19. Can you post a screenshot? I might be having the same issue, it seems to come about when I hover over a control and a tool-tip pops up.
