  1. Nevermind, i found the damned c drive and the files, installed the mod and am booted the single mission it comes with. You can close the thread.
  2. Hello, ive been trying to install the T-45 mod for dcs with no luck on steam version. Every guide i find to install the mod says go to "C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\aircraft" and paste, but when i go to aviation sub section of mods on my machine it shows as seen below "This PC\Windows\Program files (x86)\Steam\steam apps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\ Aircraft" If i put the file (the full download) and open dcs it says "T-45" is not authorized. I see that the fine details of the file are different on mine vs everyone else, but the same basic concepts are identical minus the steam, saved games, and username (im on laptop so i only have a single hard drive and single profile). All of the forums say that if you manually install you have to add a mods file, i already installed the offiocal f-18 module and that with the tf-51 and su-25 are already in the mods file. What am i doing wrong ? Any help would be appreacieated as i really want to get this mod, if there is a mod sub forum feel free to re direct this post.
  3. Ok, also ive been trying to install the t-45 mod but it wont work at all, is there a definitive guide to installing stand alone plane mods ?
  4. Any opinions on ch products, I've heard they are near indestructible and are only $20 off my budget new ? Not trying to be rude, just want as much information as possible.
  5. Sensitivity was a lesser problem, i might try using the controllers more, at present I'm installing the standalone version because i transferred the hornet from steam edition, the main reason was buttons and i like the feel of they joystick (i had an old ms sidewinder i liked). If you had a solution for the buttons I would like to know but the reasons behind wanting a hotas arent superiorly relevant, i would prefer to know what a good sub 200 hotas is to shoot for when i have the money.
  6. Inability to control the weapons systems with the controllers efficiently. The controls of the odyssey need all but analog stick and a dpad to be used for normal controlled things, and the hornet needs more than those controls to be effective, also when I tried to get yaw to be controlled from one of the sticks it automatically shut off when I was controlling the throttle, also sensitivity issues regarding the virtual flightstick.
  7. Recently I got the f-18 hornet and tried flying it with vr hand controllers, my original plan was to use it exclusively in vr with them, but that hope is dashed so I was wondering what hotas under 200 would you suggest for the hornet in vr?
  8. I got around to trying the tf-51 in vr and it works great, got the hornet on sale, and starting to train on it today.
  9. What generally eats the most ram in terms of settings ?
  10. Would 22 gb of ram be an improvement ? I only have 2 ram slots on my machine so it would cost more than a high end module to get a full 36gb
  11. What aircraft did you get to work with it ? I rember reading that aircraft like the tomcat or viggen were more power hungry due to cockpit and flight complexity as opposed to the christen eagle, thou I could be wrong.
  12. I’ll probably get an external disk drive and transfer some files that I don’t need from my laptop to that, the laptop only has an internal 500gb SSD, so that or clear out stuff I don’t need and don’t want, and I agree on the settings. The 1660ti is internal so I assume it will work, haven’t tested it yet, but all my other vr games that need a dedicated gpu work fine.
  13. A while ago I planned on trying to get into dcs, but for a number of reasons I didn’t. I am planning on buying the f-14 Module before the sale ends, but my main question is if my laptop could run it in vr, likely with one of the vr friendly cockpit mods as I know it’s quite hungry specs include: headset: Samsung odyssey plus cpu: mobile i7 9th gen gpu: mobile gtx 1660ti ram: 16gb of ddr4 at 2400 mega hrz SSD: 280gb of storage Controls: vr hand controllers and upgraded in the future to something more substantial, probably thrustmaster twcs Any responses would be greatly appreciated
  14. Ok, I’ve read more and you’re all probably right, I’ll get the hornet, rack up flight hours and when I hit 200 hours I’ll transition to the tomcat. Thanks for all the help.
  15. In that case that throws me into f18 vs fc3, I think I’ll throw in the towel for the moment and get fc3 to learn, thanks for the insight.
