Quick question, is the last F-4 update done automatically? Not sure if it is or not? Thanks, Ed

First ever DCS: F-4E Phantom II Feedback Thread - May 22nd 2024
Hollister56 replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Great work Heatblur, fantastic airplane. The canopy key bind only works the front canopy, Ctl+C, not the rear. It has to be closed from the switch in the back cockpit. I just discovered Ctl+C does work, you have to be sitting in the rear cockpit The F-4 is not showing up as a selection in Mission Editor. I had Historic checked in ME. Both issues solved. Thanks, Ed -
I would like to know too when is this going to be released? Is it a freeware or payware? Will it be different from the VSN F-104? Thanks, Ed

I agree that would be pretty cool.

Yes I see that now, when I click on it it will work some times? Or just do a search in Google and you might have better luck.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5hDRatB3ew&ab_channel=NotAPoundForAirToGround This is a very well done development/history of the F-86. The Nuke and Special Stores is mention here. It's a very good watch with lots of interesting information about the development of the F-86. Ed

Does anyone know of a mod that installs an ILS cockpit instrument and radio receiver into the F-86? Thanks. Ed

Copy that Razo+R, good to know. Convert Text to Audio Morse Code [Downloadable Audio] FYI I used this to make my Morse code idents. -

Hollister56 replied to Kevin509's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
After hours of trial and error and reading Forum posts and watching YouTubes, I am happy to say I think I have it figured out as my NDBs are now functioning correctly in DCS Nevada Map. Like some one said, when flying the F-86 or WW2 era planes it nice to at least have a NDB on every field/airport. Here's a couple of things I wasn't doing correctly. When using either the Trigger Zone or assigning a NDB to an object it must have a Sound file, either .wav or .ogg. I attached a simple letter E in Morse code which works fine. Remember to check the loop box so it plays continuously. I put my sound file in my Saved Games folder under DCS Mods/Sounds which I had to create. The Frequency has to be converted from Kilohertz to Megahertz, example 985 KHz = .985 MHz. This .985 is what goes into the Frequency entry. If assigning to an object using the advanced option you need two entries, one for the frequency and one to broadcast the sound file, which is send message option. This video has some good info. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RADZkVJYQ8U&t=19s Thanks RAZO+R for the reply. Ed 31_The_Number_5.ogg -

Kevin where did you find the wav file for the NDB? What 10 preset channels are you are referring too? I'm having trouble setting up a NDB over the airport so I can do as you described above. Thanks, Ed -
Super Carrier off the coast of California possible?
Hollister56 replied to Hollister56's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
I was just thinking is would be great to fly out of NTTR, go out to the coast where a carrier is and practice out there on the carrier and then fly back to NTTR. It can't be that hard to make an area, just water, to put a carrier off the coast of California. Or can it? I don't know..................... -

Super Carrier off the coast of California possible?
Hollister56 replied to Hollister56's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Maybe a 3rd party developer can do it and sell it on DCS? 3 party developers like they do for planes? I would like to see some of the California coast developed, at least one Navy base and a few hundred square miles of the Pacific ocean. -
Super Carrier off the coast of California possible?
Hollister56 replied to Hollister56's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
It would be great to have a couple of US bases like North Island and Pearl Harbor added to the terrains download. The maps don't have to be too large, anyway adding water can't be all that hard I wouldn't think? -
Hello DCS, Is it possible to position a SC off the coast of California? Now that we have the Nevada terrain it would be a short flight out to the coast to practice carrier landings and return to base. Maybe add Lemoore or North Island to this terrain in an update? That would be cool for sure. Thanks, Ed
